A nice large green space near the town hall and in close proximity to shopping and restaurants…read more Despite that, it has a nice big green hill to run on, a walking trail that winds across a stream, and several nice amenities: a big playground area, a baseball field, a basketball court, a shelterhouse with picnic tables, and a restroom facility. The playground is an interesting setup that I haven't seen before - rather than doing one large playground or even two split by age ranges, this one has multiple different elements spread out across the area, ranging from more typical swing options (traditional, baby, accessible, tire), seesaws, and slides to sand play options (the digging machines were cool) and more unique jungle gym set-ups - the one had a slide that didn't appear to have any sides to it and the other offered climbing opportunities but seemingly rather challenging with large holes and spaces in it. The whole area seemed quite popular as there was quite a crowd. There is a nice paved parking lot available, including EV charging spots.

The playground along the eastern edge of Summit Park was very popular with the kids, There are135 acres (!) of greenspace, a fish-stocked (!) catch-and-release pond, and more climbers and such for older kids. The walkers and dog-owners among us liked the long network of paved paths and the dog-park area. There's a central open space apparently for concerts and such. I admit, i spent most of my time watching from outside the kids' playground, and listening to a band over the covered walkway next to the taco place, with a relaxing beverage from the nearby bar :-). Sometimes it's nice not to be in charge. None of us braved the cool-looking 9-level 153-foot observation tower because the we site said that the elevators were closed at the time. They say you can see downtown! There is also a slippery splash and play "water course" to explore which was closed, too, during our visit. They say there's ice skating in the winter. The whole experience worked for us because of the nice restaurants, bars, and ice cream shops along the north and east edges of the park. We ate twice with different groups at the Mexican taco place, and three times at the park-themed restaurant. We had coffee and drinks from the cafe / bar / bottle-store. We got ice cream twice! We didnt make it to the bakery or the diner, or the chic nail salon which could have been nice for some me-time :-).

Four heavy duty nets and high visibility lines are perfect for this wildly popular sport. Not to mention restrooms in a few yards walk, shade in the morning, and great parking. There's open play daily starting at 8:30 am and the people are friendly and inclusive. Good job , Montgomery!

The parks are…read morekind of similar though this has more athletic fields and a nice lodge in the middle of the park. It has a good parking area. The park also has a big hill good for sledding. It has many facilities for athletics. It has something like two baseball fields, a basketball court, and tennis courts. The centerpiece of the park is Terwilliger's Lodge. It's popular to rent for private events. The lodge is usually booked on weekends. In the middle of the week, the park is a lot quieter, so you can enjoy some of the natural features. There's a stream and a few trails. It seems to be the best park in Montgomery for athletics. It has ample room for pickup games. The bathrooms are located near the lodge on the east side.

It's winter so no one else was there at first ... I gather it's popular for fishing in warmer weather. No one was at the booth to collect any fee this time of year. No hawk, eagle or ducks but a ton of vultures .. around 50. They were eating something ..i walked around the lake to see .. it appears they were eating their own ... just bones and feathers left. There is a boat dock and a river. Saw a kingfisher at the river. I'd spotted several but this was the first time got a pic .. they usually are too quick to fly away.

They do (not now of course) have boat rentals. There are really 2 places to park. One is right when you pass the small range/collect station you go a bit and look to your right. There is a kinda not noticeable entrance to a small parking/fishing area. Then if you drive a bit more around there is a much bigger parking area. There is also the rental building there. It has some nice places to lay down,walk, and just chill out. So do go and relax and enjoy.

It is easy to run from here to neighboring subdivisions and/or to Montgomery Road to get in a nice long (or short) run with minimal traffic. Hopewell Meadows Park is a 14-acre park in Symmes Township, although it is very close to the…read moreMontgomery and Indian Hill areas. Hopewell Meadows was dedicated in 2001, although plans for the park had been in the works for several years prior. The product, however, was well worth the wait as it is a very nice park. Hopewell Meadows Park features two picnic shelters available on a first-come first-served basis. The main shelter can accommodate about 68 people and is on some prime "real estate," located between the restrooms and the large playground area. The smaller shelter, located on the park's East side near part of the walking trail and many trees, maxes out at around 28 people. I've played on Hopewell's tennis courts a couple of times and in addition to being somewhat new courts, the back fences between the two courts are angled to keep your tennis balls from rolling onto the other court. The basketball court also is nice (minus those darn double rims) and not one of those blacktop courts like at some of the other parks. Additionally, there is a large walking path that is somewhat scenic, the park has a small baseball field, and even the bathrooms are nice for park standards (the lights turn on when you open the door, pretty cool...I'm easily pleased). On the whole, the Hopewell Meadows Park is a somewhat small, yet great park and it's an excellent place to play some basketball or tennis, or to take your little kids to play on the playground. And unlike some parks, you can bring your bike/skateboard/roller blades/scooter through, as long you do so in a "safe manner."

There are also out door exercise equipment options, playgrounds, ponds with creeks, and a unique basketball hoop. Our favorite portion was a tiny bridge that you cross when hiking.
