Went for breakfast, first time here. Old school vibes- like an old Village Inn if you remember those. Breakfast is reasonably priced. Service was attentive and fast on the food delivery. Great pancakes. Husband liked the skillet- well proportioned toppings over the potatoes. Denver omelette was very good. As a water drinker, I love that they bring you a carafe of water when you are seated- nice touch! Few negatives were: they left a bowl of previous table occupants' garbage on the table- used creamers, sugar wrappers, and crumbled napkin. Also, you can have hash browns OR fruit with omelette. I've been to Blue Bay several times and they never disappoint. They have a nice breakfast and brunch menu with plenty of options. Our server was very friendly and did a great job in keeping our coffee filled and checking up on us. We had the Eggs Benedict and the Grandma's skillet. Both were reasonably priced and very delicious with the perfect portion size. They do a nice job in clearing out the tables and getting diners seated quickly. Overall, Blue Bay is a great choice for breakfast, brunch or dinner if you're ever in the Mukwonago area. read more

(Make that 2 1/2 stars.) Our local favorite--Fork in the Road--happens to be closed on Sundays and Mondays, so we implemented "Plan B," namely Blue Bay. Their George H. W. Bush-era décor begs to be updated, but otherwise this family-friendly diner appears reasonably neat and clean. Blue Bay's enormous menu features unapologetically retro diner classics that hark back to the era when a 1/2 lb. burger plated with cottage cheese was actually considered healthy. The wonderful servers and remarkably inexpensive prices are the obvious draw. But, you literally get what you pay for--average quality food. Our sandwiches were okay but did not rise above ordinary. Cooked-to-order items, e.g. breakfast dishes, deep-fried, and grilled or griddled items, seem to be the best bets here. Some entrées looked and tasted as though they had been prepared in large batches much earlier in the day. The kitchen has a heavy hand with the gravy ladle. Swedish meatballs--described by a server as "one of our most popular items" arrived ... brace yourself ... drenched in a dreadful gloppy Alfredo sauce (Italian/Swedish fusion?). Spaghetti & meat sauce was proportioned 1/3 pasta to 2/3 sauce. Mashed potatoes were awash in a sea of insipid beige gravy. Dessert? You guessed it ... tapioca or rice pudding, ice cream, and cheesecake. We ordered the cheesecake and spumoni (dessert came with our meals). Both were forgettable. read more

Good and bad. I've eaten here numerous times. What's good - they are fast. Service good, staff friendly. Ambiance OK. Most of the time the food is reasonably good, especially with regards to breakfast. I ordered the chicken pita for lunch. Yeah, be careful about ordering that. It's a warmed up pita with a piece of sauteed chicken breast, plus a couple slices of melted american cheese. Sandwich that inside the pita and cut in half. Received this and... so disappointing. Piss poor actually. Who eats that? I was lucky that the greasy oil from the melted american cheese did not stick to the chicken. At least I was able to eat the chicken breast but the rest of that deplorable nightmare was a waste for the garbage. I guess I thought I was ordering a nicely made Mediterranean chicken pita, maybe at the very least with some tomato, perhaps onion and maybe some lettuce or feta or dressing. From past ordering experiences, WAY TOO MUCH AMERICAN CHEESE ON EVERYTHING you have to aggressively tell them not to include American cheese if you don't want that artery clogging crapola otherwise expect everything you order will probably be covered with it. They'll slap that sh*t right on top of your omelet (and it looks terrible), they'll put it on your sandwich, they'll put it on your burger or whatever else. Many times experienced this over years now. Twice now in the last year my hash browns have been overcooked too. Sorry for the bad comments in my review, I hope Blue Bay will improve, This area must not have very high standards for restaurants as far as I can tell and that is evidenced by a few other places in town. read more

How do I give ZERO stars. Food was absolutely horrible, for a greek inspired menu/restaurant who serves a gyro in tin foil, to be honest I wouldn't even call this a gyro, it looked like processed package meat (most likely frozen) not sliced off the spit. Not served with tzatziki, I had to ask the server multiple times for it. When I got it looked curdled and tasted disgusting. Soup was served cold, wifes chicken wrap was rubbery...the service was one of the worst experiences we've ever had in a restaurant. We make it a point to tip very well and take care of our servers however, we had to get up get our own napkins, hot sauce, flag down another server to order drinks. we will definitely not be back! Were enroute to the Elegant Farm for lunch and decided to stop here. Mistake! read more

Don't judge this place on the outside or the inside because the decor is out dated and so is the inside. It's like walking into grandma's living room. The food however is a wide variety of classic breakfast foods and everything was good. It is a large restaurant and have never had to wait. Able to accommodate larger groups as well! read more

Blue bay was a third option after my first two options ended up being closed so Yelp took me here. The pace is very popular with the older crowd because that's what 95 % of the people were and I will get there so it's not a knock on them. The place is the common old school breakfast spot that has not been updated in a while. I experienced no service issues as my server worked several tables. I like that you get your own ice water glass bottle so if you run out there is no waiting. The menu is the standard breakfast items so I ordered eggs and protein. I ordered the ham and eggs with hash brown and toast with a side of sausage patties in case the ham was fake. The eggs were cooked a hair past sunny side up and half way to medium with a little runny yoke left in them but not my rare yokes that I like. The ham was real/hand trimmed of all fat which I hate that was sliced thin and a smaller portion that most places give you. The sausage patties were the bland kind with no zing or zip to them. The toast was my fav, sour dough but the generic kind. Overall this is your average breakfast spot that is a safe bet that makes food for the masses so your not going to be wowed with great flavors like smokey/juicy ham or zesty/juicy sausage patties but it has appeal because it fills up on the weekends. read more

Slammed packed today on Mother's Day and the staff is moving at a extremely fast pace but still showing every table the attention they deserve. The young hostess probably about 12-15 years old is working as if she has been working for 12-15 years. Very sweet hardworking staff serving guests who demand everything. Had breakfast here for the first time. We sat at the counter, which was a curse and a blessing. Staff was friendly and our food came right away, with the exception of our toast (thankfully). Two items that would prevent us from coming back. 1) after drinking my coffee I discovered how dirty my cup was. Not coffee "stains" just dirty. 2) the cooks are constantly putting toast on the line and the staff just comes and grabs what they need for an order. Problem is they grab it with their hands. One waitress was extremely sweaty from running around. No exaggeration, her neck and forehead were dripping sweat. She took her hand and wiped the sweat off of her forehead and then grabbed toast and took it to a customer. I was in shock! Sitting at a table I would have been ignorant of this unsanitary practice. For those customers who ate here around 10:40-11:00 am and had white toast. YIKES! read more

I would leave zero stars, if it was possible. We went to Blue Bay for Mother's Day breakfast. After waiting for 40 minutes, with only the first offering of beverages, the waitress returns to our table to tell us that our order isn't ready that the staff "lost the ticket". Okay, how does that happen??(Meanwhile, people who sat after us are already getting their food.) Needless to say, when we got our food, it was terrible. Only one of our entrees, the pancakes, were cooked properly. The cheese and mushroom omelet was greasy, the skillet was undercooked and veggies in it were cold, as were the hash browns. Toast was barely warm when it was brought to the table. After returning a third time to the table, the waitress says that our bill has been reduced to $35 from $62. The kicker here is that as we're paying the bill, we're asked how was everything. My sister calmly tells him it was not good, and as she's talking to him another waitress, completely unrelated to our table, starts to eavesdrop. As my sister is talking, the man wearing a sweatshirt for an establishment we won't be going to (Babe's Pizza and Chicken Mukwonago) tells her "to calm down ". She was calm. He just didn't want people waiting for a table to hear what she was saying. What??? Who does that??? She proceeded to tell him that they were done, that the conversation was over. Horrible customer service! It was understandable that there was going to be a wait, which there really wasn't since we were seated quickly but to "lose a ticket" (read: forgot to put our order in), is completely unacceptable. To be dismissed and told to calm down when, though we were unhappy with the situation but not loud or agitated, is equally unacceptable. We used to get carry out from here quite a bit, after this, we won't be returning. read more

I grew up in this town and hadn't been back in a while. This restaurant was a great breakfast place for us so we went back. The service was food and the food was good however I was glad that we ate before I made the trip to the rest room. Walking to the restroom they had stuff just piled up everywhere and the bathroom had mold, spider webs, etc and looked like it hadn't been cleaned since it opened. There were no towels in the machine to dry my hands. When I got back to the table my friend asked what I thought of the bathroom! We really looked around the rest of the place and noticed al ot things that needed to be cleaned up. I don't want to know what the kitchen looks like. read more

Hands down some of the most hardworking attentive waitstaff around, they are always beating feet and making sure you have all that you need! I personally Love their chicken wraps they are always filled full and are super flavorful, my family loves their breakfast, from the skillets to the French toast and pancakes. I saw a recent review, and it reminded me of a visit I made to Blue Bay about 2 weeks ago. This is my third visit, and it is always decent. Our server was nice, but it took a long time for our food. They have a lot of great skillet options. Everything we had was relatively greasy diner food, and that is just what we were looking for that day. Prices are fairly reasonable. Blue Bay is one of only two restaurants I know of where spaghetti can be a side dish (the other being Barley's in Troy Center). And they don't just give you a small amount, you get a decent serving of noodles. Ordering one entree, you can get your main dish, soup, spaghetti, a glass of wine or beer, and desert all included in one meal. You will never leave hungry. The menu is very diverse, nothing outstanding that sticks out in my mind, but it is all good. read more

One of the people in our group ordered the Fisherman's platter. When it finally arrived he bit into one of the scallops and it was raw and cold. He informed the waitress and she took his plate back to the cook. When she arrived back with the food the scallops were dark brown while the remaining food was the same color and he found the scallop that he had taken a bite out of on the plate. The scallops were clearly put back in the fryer with the one he had taken a bite out of. GROSS. The remainder of our meals were average at best, burgers, sandwiches and chicken. Went there for lunch. Atmosphere was nice. Everything looked very new and very clean. Server was friendly. Service was good. Two of us had Grecian style chicken entrees and one of us had the meatloaf. One chicken entre was slightly over-cooked, but still very tasty. Salads (that came with the meal) were fresh and crisp. Soup (that came with the meal) was good. Also came with choice of small dessert which was good. The coffee was good. Talked with one of the owners on the way out; very friendly, like talking to a family member. Overall experience was very enjoyable. Will definitely be back. Really bad is all I can say! The wait staff is terrible...went on a weeknight a few months ago and let's say it was an experience. We were seated and then "the Denny's experience" kicked in. You know, they know how to seat you and then a time warp kicks in. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to take our order. Should have left...but we must like torture. After they did take our order, it came cold and it was not appetizing at all. Also, our server took her time checking on us and also bringing the bill...constantly talking outside on her cell phone.
