They all know the menu quite well, including the specials, which they explain in detail and never rush through them. Since we've dined here so often, my husband and I have sampled many entrees and have never been disappointed. The Marsala has lots of mushrooms and a delicious, velvety sauce; Piccata has a light lemon sauce w/salty capers - perfectly balanced! Our absolute favorite are the Stuffed Banana Peppers, which we have every time we visit. My husband has one complaint: the bar didn't have Bacardi rum on several occasions.

Acknowledging that every table/booth in every restaurant is $money$, this table for 4 we were escorted to should either not exist or would do far better being creatively encased with an added structure to camouflage both these spaces and dampen the associated noise. On behalf of "the man of honor" who deserved far better, I appealed to the hostess to be seated elsewhere and graciously, she did so, in the dining area where the bar is located, not lending itself well to relaxed conversation, however. Oh well. Making up for the initial shifts and adjustments above, our server "Hunter" and the entrés 3 of the 4 of us chose were so delicious! Starting with Hunter, Cafe Piccolo would be wise to invest in retaining his skills in any possible manner. As a server, he was attentive, knowing what we needed and exactly when. He was warm, patient, personable and gentlemanly with a charming sense of humor. I cannot figure out how he was able to demonstrate such positive qualities with the 4 of us in conjunction with attending the other diners in this completely FULL dining room! The three of us ordered one of the specials offered--seared scallops with spinach-mushroom ravioli...magnifico!! This was prepared with super plump scallops, seared to perfection and the dough of the ravioli was light and thin. One of 3 salads is offered with entrées and, without hesitation, the one with Roquefort cheese dressing was a quick choice. Unfortunately, we live over an hour north of this delicious Italian cafe so returning frequently isn't likely. But if we're ever passing through the area, Cafe Piccolo (w/ Hunter as our server, of course) is #1 on our list.

Ellen was a real gem though, as we had two coincidental issues with our food (not her fault at all) and she handled it like a real pro. We pulled into Buzz's Roost around 8 p.m. on a cool, damp Friday night in May, and the New England clam chowder was exactly what the doctor ordered. Warm, creamy, and comforting, it melted away the stress of the workweek with the very first spoonful. Our blackened fresh fish sandwiches were outstanding. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the seasoning had just the right kick to remind you that simple food can still be unforgettable. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. With its exposed brick interior and waterfront setting, Buzz's Roost feels like a cozy warehouse transformed into a laid-back riverfront hangout. Friendly service made us feel right at home, and the skeeball and foosball tables were tempting enough that we're already planning a return visit. I can easily picture coming back on a warm summer evening--or even during football season--to soak in the Riverwalk views, enjoy a great meal, and unwind. Just for something different i chose the house salad with ranch dressing and honestly it was the best i've had in a restaurant, it was fresh and really good. My husband got the she-crab soup and he was smiling from ear to ear. he also got the grilled ham and cheese for something different and he really enjoyed it. She was prompt, attentive, and gave extra attention to details like bringing a plastic plate instead of a ceramic one when I asked for an empty plate for our toddler. We had a large party and that didn't diminish the quality of our service. The food was fantastic. The crab cakes say "no filler" on the menu and they mean it. That was exactly how a crab cake should be made and the texture was perfect. Our party had every iteration of oysters you can get and they were all great. They were accommodating for a member of our party with celiac and her food was exactly what she was promised. Other points of note: Bar service was quick and friendly. The hostesses promptly accommodated our party of 10. The straps on the high chair actually worked (if you're a parent then you know what I mean). And my favorite of all: there was no tv to be seen from our table so we were all able to chit chat without distraction from glowing tv screens. This was our first trip, both to Graham's Landing and Pawley's Island. We typically vacation on Georgia beaches but we will 100% be coming back to this beach and more importantly Graham's Landing.
