My husband and I spent the day in Georgetown and had lunch at Rollin Local and had an amazing experience. It's in a historic building on Front St so it is a bit small, but the food and service are amazing! We had the Crazy Boy Roll for an appetizer and it was simply delicious! I am actually craving it again today! I ordered the shrimp tacos with house chips and ranch dressing. The three tacos were stuffed with shrimp and the bang bang cole slaw was the perfect topping for the shrimp! The ranch dressing with the house made chips were superb! My left over chips were still crunchy that evening! My husband had a club sandwich and sweet potato fries and said it was the best he has ever had! I had the "trash can" cocktail...so whimsical and so, so good!!! My husband enjoyed his usual Coors Light. We left happy and with leftovers! We will be back on a regular basis! read more

Came up from Charleston and was looking forward to some specialty sushi rolls...however, Wednesday night is half-price sushi, so only the basic rolls are available. The ambiance and service were great. The sushi rolls were good, not great. I ordered some spicy tuna rolls, a spicy salmon roll and a tempura shrimp roll (the crunchy). The tuna and salmon were just plain tuna and salmon rolls, not spicy. The batter on the shrimp was stale and hard, plus they fried tail and all, which meant trying to pick the shell out of your mouth. They put good-sized chunks of tuna in the rolls, but too-big chunks of cucumber, which overpowered the tuna. The tempura shrimp basket was greasy and heavy, instead of light. They did accommodate my request for light rice. Would like to come back on a regular sushi night because I think it would be a fun experience. read more

Last time Rollin Local received a solid 5, but our experience this time was very subpar. We had to wait 10 mins when there were at least 5 open tables. The hostess didn't seem to be concerned and took her sweet time before seating us. Our waitress came over once to take our order and to provide the check, so that was another huge downgrade. She also let us know I would have to select 2 proteins for my hibachi lunch. I asked for just shrimp as I'm trying to eat less meat and she wouldn't honor my request . Portions are generous, but the unwillingness to accommodate or please the customer makes me not want to come back. I've also never experienced a lazier or less friendly staff. read more

Worse service ever. My wife and I decided to drive up to Georgetown for a late Lunch, early dinner. we stumbled across this place and decided to try it. Big Mistake. We walked and were seated fairly quickly but went downhill from there. We waited and waited for a servwe. There were being seated and served all around us until I asked the lady serving the table next to us whomour server was. We still did not have drinks etc. She said she would check. Another 10 minutes or so goes by and the server from the table on the other side of us asked, "Have yall been helped? I noticed you guys looking around. We said no and she said she would take are of us. She was so nice and apologized for no one coming to help us. She took our order. I ordered a Bento box. the food started coming out and she said my meal would be put in a sec. Well. She kept coming back saying I'm so sorry, I do not know what's going on back there. My food arrived 40 minutes later after my wife had already finished her meal and was basically ready to go I asked to speak to the manager and she said by all means. The manger never shows up to the table. The. Server asked later if the manger ever came and I said no. She said she would go get her. When the manager, a short young blond lady, shows up at the table she asked how was our meal? I told her what happened and she said well we've been real busy That was it. Real busy. Served my meal after very one else was finished? that was it. I asked for a discount and she rolled her eyes and said ok I'll give you a discount t and walked off. Just walked off. When the server brought the bill she said all she could give me was her employee discount. Half off my meal. Nothing else. Just my meal. It wasn't the servers fault She did her best. I can't express how much I love this place. We go almost every time we go to Georgetown or Pawleys. The sushi rolls are perfect. I want to try something other than the local roll, with lobster and filet mignon, but I can't help myself. Also, their crab and cucumber salad is so incredibly good. We heard amazing things about this place and were excited to try it while in Georgetown. It's a cute ambiance with indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. The menu is very diverse which is nice for parties of varying food preferences. The drinks were good and I'd say normal price for a cocktail. I really enjoyed my sushi roll but was surprised they didn't have gluten free soy sauce. The menu is not descriptive for allergies, which is why I decide to give 4 stars. I would give 4.5 if I could because the food is really flavorful but I do think there is room for improvement in the allergy realm. For those with an allergy, menus already feel limited and so offering something like GF soy sauce can make a huge difference in an experience. Just a thought! This was really nice to stop by and try during my lunch break. I was in this town on business and my coworker recommended this place. . . so I brought her with me. Ambiance/Safety So the layout is really spacious and they have outdoor seating which is great given the weather right now. Now the inside is pretty dark but they have a lot of window lighting to it is a nice balance. They wiped down our outside seating before offering our menus and they do wear masks. Now, they do have a mask mandate but you know how it has been in the current climate (people are acting like they don't read the door signs anymore smh). Service The waitress was very kind and hospitable. She was very knowledgeable on the menu so her choice of sushi rolls for us was awesome. Food So I had some of their specialty rolls. I believe one of them was called the monster roll the other I can't quite remember (I didn't like it too much. . . too much fish egg topping for me). Overall they were both very good. I think I will have to come there again during a lunch break and just get two of the monster. OH, I believe it won an award in 2020. . . You'll see it in its description on the menu. lol. Overall, this was a great experience and the menu has a lot of variety for the taste buds. BUSY PLACE! We happen to find Historic Georgetown by accident. While shopping we asked for a recommendation and a LOCAL told us about this place. We had to wait but only 20 minutes. I saw a lady with a Bloody Mary at the bar and asked if it was spicy and good. She recommended it. I asked for a virgin one and it did not disappoint. But they served it to me in a smaller glass. Hummm? They have a very large selection of food but I noticed most people came in for sushi. I had shrimp tempura. It was different from the kind I normally get with the batter being more like a beer batter rather than panko batter. It was still good and the dipping sauce must have been like a Yum yum sauce. It was really good. My friend ordered a spring roll (which she and I have never had before) She said it was very good. Nice crunch with the veggies and they accommodated her by not putting the spicy sauce in because they hand roll each one as ordered. Our Server Frank was a sweet young man. Very polite, helpful, and attentive. Would I go back if in the area? I think so. We drove to Georgetown from Folly Beach. Very cute town with a nice little local shopping area. This restaurant was the highlight of our trip! Days later we are still talking about the sushi. This place was recommended by an employee at the resort we were staying in. I'll just start with this: if you are used to eating upscale sushi, this place is good, but just that. His meal was really small- 5 grilled shrimp and fried (yes fried) corn on the cob. He loves corn on the cob but hated the fried one. He peeled off the breading thinking he could still eat it but it was complete mush underneath. The sushi itself was good. I wouldn't say it was fantastic or over the top, but good. I thought it was odd they sliced the sushi pieces in half so each piece was like a half inch wide. I think it was to give the illusion of more food, because it's definitely not easier to eat that way. We also ordered summer rolls, which are weirdly labeled as fresh spring rolls on the menu (as opposed to fried). They were great and the sauce for dipping was yummy too. Overall the food was a solid 3. However, service was great. Our server was attentive and helpful and very sweet, which is why I gave this review a 4. One thing I didn't love is when they bring you your bill, you pay it on a tablet right there at the table. While convenient, I don't exactly love having my server stand over me while I'm trying to calculate tip. And I mean literally standing beside me waiting for me to put everything in. But as I said, she was very sweet and helpful and maybe didn't realize she was making it awkward. If I were in the area I would go back.
