First time here with mixed results. Service started out well. Seated quickly and order taken. I decided to go with the Blackened Pimento Southern Burger with fries. The burger arrived and looked good. It was cooked well and the fries were hot and delicious. The burger also had a generous amount of Pimento cheese. The burger itself was very bland. It was great that it was cooked well and had a lot of cheese but not seasoned well was a disappointment. The service also dropped off after our initial order was taken. We had a wonderful lunch at SoCo while checking out places to eat on Main Street in Georgetown, SC. I highly recommend SoCo as they had great outdoor seating and were dog friendly too. The food was super tasty; I ordered the grouper (blackened) sandwich, with potato salad, yum! We also got tryouts the burgers and pimento cheese sandwich, which my wife liked. I highly recommend SoCo if you're in town and looking for a chill lunch, looked like they had great beers too! read more

We eat at SoCo Grille at least twice a month, always good food, good service and pleasant atmosphere. Once a month we eat outside with our little Foxhound and she just loves their chicken livers! Great local place, always good meals and my wife and I love their waitstaff. read more

Update review. I gave back a star since I did finally hear back from the owner. He did apologize. I was also offered a refund but I don't foresee going again. My coworker and I ordered the fried chicken salad for delivery. Paid $40.88 for 2 salads plus the fees. It took 1.5 hours for the salads to be delivered then once they finally arrived they gave us the wrong dressing. Neither of us enjoyed our lunch. it took way too long and it didn't taste good. I sent a message to the SoCo Grille Facebook page to explain the issues that occurred. They read the message but did not reply. Will not be returning. Very disappointed. read more

This was probably one of the worst meals we've had in a very long time. Hubby ordered a burger medium rare, they forgot the medium part. I ordered pot pie and the dough on top wasn't cooked. So I asked them to redo it. Second attempt the dough wasn't cooked still and when I attempted to eat the insides only it was raw dough, smatterings of white chicken blobs and maybe a piece of carrot. I sent it back and asked for shrimp tacos. Shrimp tacos looked beautiful but for two tacos I only had three shrimp... Service was okay but a return trip isn't warranted based on the food quality. read more

I was going for a healthier option with veggies, tomatoes, onion, garlic and cheese, so I could order french fries. My boyfriend sent his pulled pork back because it was full of fat. I hate to leave a bad review, but this establishment was horrid-- several people in our party are sick from it. Do not waste your time or money. To start, the seafood chowder smelled and tasted like sewer water--something was definitely off. We had a larger party, and multiple people ordered it. The smell was so foul that we had to remove it from the table. I ordered the crab cake sandwich. I don't know what it was, but it was definitely not a crab cake. My wife's chicken sandwhich had old wilted lettuce, the avocado was literally completely brown. They were out of croissants so she ordered the sourdough. It was crappy white bread. Adrian was an amazingly kind and on point Bartendress! As a returning patron, it was nice to stop in again!! And we will keep coming back!! Firstly, happy hour was yum with a nice little discount on a couple tasty and amazing happy hour beverages. Additionally, enjoy fresh (AND YES, FRESH caught) shrimp that is peel n eat (need I say more!)...caught right in front of this spot today! And at phenomenal price. The service is great, the atmosphere is fun and the staff very friendly! Unfortunately the food pulled my rating down. The squash casserole looked good but was bland. My husband is a good southern cooking loving guy but he even found the rice and gravy "kinda funny tasting" Their tea was great! We just moved to Georgetown so maybe we caught them on a bad night. Great town, We usually eat at the restaurant right nearby thats well worth the 20 minute drive from Murrells Inlet, but that was closed on Monday, I tried this place with my mother and a friend, and it's sad to say it was a real disappointment. They were completely understaffed and the bartender/manager was no help to the 2 really busy servers that were also bussing and seating patrons. Our server was young and very good at her craft, just new and overwhelmed with the lack of support from management and the not terrible, but definitely subpar food coming out of the back of the house. My shrimp and grits were decent but the 4 shrimp and two tiny pieces of andouille didn't really wow, but my friend enjoyed the meatloaf sandwich after they sent it back to be made into a sandwich after it arrived as just meatloaf on a plate with nothing else on the plate, and my mother's broiled oysters looked boiled by everyone at the table, and were very rubbery, the rice and gravy didn't come with gravy and the corn pudding is just cornbread, by any other name. Come hungry. The menu reads with some familiar choices, but the plates are served with generosity and worth the namesake of southern comfort. The grouper sandwich is an entire fillet, as well all the other sandwiches were hearty. They name them double fisted as more than self promotion marketing. Our plates were satisfying, and all the neighboring tables as well. Food was pleasant with some nice flavor accents. Service was friendly. We were visiting from Maryland looking for a place between Myrtle Beach and Charleston to meet our family. Unfortunately this place was not it, while the server and other staff were nice, we came for food. 4 meals ordered... The special (rib eye w asparagus- they didn't have the asparagus so was allowed to sub for collards) was fatty and lackluster... Fried chicken - two of the three pieces of fried chicken were "Raw" , there was not an acknowledgment by the waiter more of a continuous, "did you want me to take it back?' - No I'd prefer salmonella.... The two pieces (drumstick and thigh) of 3 went back and as the others were finishing up their meals the waiter brought out two pieces of chicken. Honestly as a business owner I would have taken that off the check, after all it was "raw" not undercooked.. The other two meals were just OK.. a lot of money spent to leave displeased and hungry! The best menu item was the pimento cheese appetizer... ymmmm and the alcoholic beverages... Excited to go but glad to leave... wish we had a better food experience. read more

I was completely satisfied with this delicious place to eat. They've got a variety of Southern specialty foods served here. I tried the fried green tomatoes and shrimp n grits. Both of each were home cooked and made with local ingredients, including the local Georgetown shrimp. The fried green tomatoes had a mild red chili aioli drizzled on it on a pile of local SC stone ground cheddar grits. They were made to perfection! On a day trip from Charleston and found this little gem. Located in downtown Georgetown with cute quaint shops and Caroline was our server and was very attentive and friendly. Owner made his rounds to each table to ensure everyone was satisfied. The food was perfect and attention to detail. I ordered the buttermilk chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the fried grouper sandwich. The hand cut fries were cooked to our request of crispy and tasted delicious. Consistently good food. I've been here a dozen times or so and have yet to have a meal that disappoints. Everything is fresh. Seriously... to the point that they don't have a freezer. Wide variety of dishes, from fresh local seafood to traditional southern dinners (meat & three). Great burgers and salads too. Make sure to ash for specials or look for board. They'll often do things that are a lot different than other items on the menu. Descent happy hour from 4-6 PM on weekdays. Good prices on house drinks and draft, as well as some food choices. During the current hospitality industry staffing shortage they probably have more staff per table than any other restaurant in the area. Some are new and inexperienced but they're trying. And don't be too disappointed if anywhere you go is out of something. Supply chain issues abound... you know there's a problem when you hear of all the different shortages in the news. Remember to be patient as these are challenging times for the industry (more of note to self). read more

Went for lunch. It was a fine place with outdoor seating, nice waitress, but ...it was really buggy outside with noseeums (tiny little biting bugs). They were so bad we asked for our food to go because we had our dog and couldn't go inside. The waitress tried to accommodate us and turned on a powerful fan that helped with the bugs, but it made it pretty windy. My husband got grouper soft tacos that were good. They came with salsa and fried flour tortilla chips. We prefer corn tortilla chips. I asked for the southern BLT. When it arrived it came without bacon. When I asked the waitress she said the cook said they were out of bacon but she'd try and get me a couple pieces. She emerged not too much longer with some bacon???? Kind of thought if you ordered a BLT and they were out of bacon you be told before the sandwich came out and if they were out of bacon why would she have been able to get bacon???? read more

The shrimp and grits was great-good flavor and the shrimp were cooked to perfection, plump and delicious. The sides were also good.
