This place is amazing. Portions are generous and very tasty. The waffles are big enough for two people. The meatloaf sandwich is challenging to eat but worth every sloppy bite. I love the choice of sides. The beets with onions are my favourite. The menu is a perfect balance for those that want something sweet, or a salad, hearty salad, substantial sandwiches and good omelets. It hard to get a table for more than 4 people. Blue Bee is one of my absolute favorites! So much so that my lovely girlfriend took me there on my birthday. Not only is the food really good, but it's such a cute spot! The staff is really friendly, and the owners are kind folks. First off, I've never had anything there that wasn't absolutely delicious. The curried egg salad sandwich is mouthwateringly good. I've recently been drawn to the meatloaf panini. It's like the best cheeseburger ever. There's another meatloaf sandwich that is also dumb delicious. I don't typically like potato salad... But theirs is the best I've ever had. I'm not really a meat and potatoes kinda guy... And I love their meat and potatoes! They have a couple of vegan options: Asian Noodles - which is huge and chock full o' veggies; and the hummus plate. Can't go wrong with either one. I've eaten other things, and they are ALL good. Not a dud in the bunch. I have yet to try their baked goods, because My GF is a pastry chef and I'm already a little tubby from the taste testing. Lol. Another thing I love is something more subtle - the staff operate as a team, not as individuals serving specific tables. I think that sort of dynamic creates a better work environment, which creates a better dining experience for the customer. The only complaint I have is really more of a wish.... Phenom!!! Had "the melt"- literally melted in my mouth in pure infatuation. The homemade bleu cheese was excellent, as well as my friend's tarragon filled chicken salad (light on mayo and shredded to perfection). A must go if in Delaware county. My boyfriend and I visited the area and I had this cafe bookmarked already knowing we'd love it--and we weren't disappointed at all! We were seated in a cozy little booth in the back. The decor in this place is so darn cute and the smell of baked goods is constantly in the air. We ordered a meatloaf sandwich with potato salad, chocolate milkshake, BLT on sourdough, orzo salad and tea. My boyfriend says it was the best BLT of his life, and I ditto that with my food as well. This was a pleasant surprise while running the roads for appointments in Delhi! I have to admit, I drove by it at first and had to swing back around as I thought I just saw a vacant store front and was about to start looking for another place to go. On street parking that was jammed obscured my view, but once I parked in the municipal lot across the way and walked up to Blue Bee, I could see that they were busy! A beautiful interior with touches of shabby chic and upscale abound, with a thoughtful layout that made good use of the space. Offering any and all things from fresh baked cookies to ice cream and restaurant fare, I'd speculate this place is typically busy. That busy atmosphere though, is well warranted. Their lunch menu packs a lot in with local farm to table and various options for any and all carnivores, kids, big kids in 40 year old bodies, vegans, vegetarians, you name it. From curried egg salad, to homemade meatloaf sandwiches, to paninis, quiche, salads and all sorts in-between, you won't go hungry! They offer a plethora of teas as well. I ordered the turmeric chai tea, which was delightful and not too strong. I ordered their broccoli cheddar soup, which was served piping hot and was a fantastic consistency with a blend of cheese and cuts of broccoli, and paired it with their homemade meatloaf panini. The panini had spot on panini press marks in their homemade rosemary ciabatta and was a match up of meatloaf, provolone and mayo (I skipped the tomato). I have grown up in this area and it is a nice change to see a place with quality meals and baked goods. The decor is a nice and glad to see a reuse of fixtures, furniture, and appliances. Excellent coffee and espresso drinks. You get a big size coffee which is a good deal. We enjoyed a hardy breakfast of omelettes and crepes. Good quality homemade bread and ingredients. My mother enjoys going here on a weekly basis for lunch and late snack. For the hipsters, if you want country home goods go across the street to Stewart's. We have been to Blue Bee's several times and each time it has been super good!!! This last time I got "The Melt" which is a turkey and bacon panini with tomato and provolone cheese all melted together on a rosemary yummy panini tybread with a healthy amount of mayo.... Just a perfect sandwich. And their sides are super good too. I had the beet salad and loved it. My friend had a tuna salad sandwich and loved it with coleslaw which was probably the best he's ever had!! So do I recommend the Blue Bee Cafe?! YES I do! We stopped in after the Taste of the Catskills festival and had lattes and scones which were delicious and very large portions. Basic mom and pop restaurant with great service and food. We were in town for a wedding and drove about 20 min to come here for breakfast. They were pretty busy on a Saturday morning but has a few tables open. We were sat right away, and I ordered a chia tea latte and it was seriously better then Starbucks. It was not only huge and not expensive but it was the perfect temp to enjoy it right away and the flavor was perfect. There was one chef working and she was very productive and efficient. We got sat next to the counter where she makes the food and she wore gloves (thankful germ freak over here) every time she touched bread, fruit, etc. I got the waffle which was pretty tasty. It was only 9.95 and came with literally two huge circular waffles- way too much waffle i could barely finish have of one circle- guess it would be good for two people to eat as it literally is about 8in in diameter and TWO of them. We also got the scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and pumpernickel toast. Not many places have pumpernickel where we live so it was a pleasant surprise. The potatoes were sooo good, great flavor we didn't even need ketchup. Normally not a potato fan and always sub for fruit but so glad we didn't. The black coffee was great too, pretty strong. I'm rating this place so low because it is criminal what they charge for mediocre food and surly service from the older lady who works up front. If you love spending nearly $16 for a salad then by all means you may love it here. Don't even try to go here within an hour of closing or you will be glared at until you leave, and they will start cleaning loudly around you until you do. This is probably the best Cafe in The Catskill Region. The food is consistently very good and service is polite and friendly. This Cafe is clean, bright and welcoming. The Blue Bee presents a pretty face but unfortunately it is yet another one of those eateries which struggles with the concept of vegetarianism. and its ideas on accommodating food allergies seem to be just to deny any choice. But hey there's always an omelet, right? My wife has an allergy to cow's milk. And today for some reason she asked, is there milk in the omelette? Nine times out of ten the answer will be no, but not at the Blue Bee. Milk is not a standard ingredient of any omelette. It is a cheep trick to substitute it for egg. But hey, we figured it's an omelette, why not make one without milk today? ... not happening because the omelettes are premixed. We have a kitchen back there with no eggs in it!!! So the menu has a bunch of enticing "3 egg omelettes " but who really knows how much expensive egg is in that ladel back in the "kitchen " that measures out a 3 egg? So my wife was stuck with a bagel, everything else had meat or milk, and i had a 3 egger. Sorry but unless they ordered quail eggs it was very light on eggs. Not much egg flavor, very little volume. Nice home fries, but the pumpernickel bread tasted like Pepperidge Farm, not the advertised home made. read more

A gem! The food excellent and reasonably priced but the interior is amazing. The wooden booths have stained glass, skinny beveled mirrors with brass supports for marble tables and the 1910 gigantic old refrigerator is the fulcrum of the restaurant. I had an excellent HUGE tuna fish salad sanny and my son had waffles that easily would fill 2 kids of any size. Easily worth a 12 minute delay between Albany and Deposit NY.
