Blue Bottle has a beautiful, minimalist aesthetic and I love the look of the interior and the products. This location also has a good deal of natural light, which would be great for studying if there was a rare available seat open. This review is mostly for the almond milk cappuccino. It cost nearly $6 for a small cup and tasted sort of burnt and sour. I'm not sure if it is just the unique taste of the almond milk that they use, but it is not for me! I generally like nondairy milk but just could not bring myself to finish the cappuccino. There is also an oat milk option that may be a better alternative - perhaps I will try it if I return. read more

The coffee here is really good. You can taste all the flavors that went into each cup, and it's a pretty wild ride if, like me, you'd never had such excellent coffee before. The downside is that it is super expensive. I paid $5 for drip coffee, and while it was great, it is not something I can do everyday. More than that, I don't think this coffee would be as enjoyable on the go. You really have to sit down and experience it. The space is very large, bright, and clean. It's ambient. The seats are not comfortable, and some of them seem made to make you slouch. I didn't see too many (or any) outlets, and they are still working on getting the wi-fi working. The staff were excellent. They were willing to explain the different types of coffee to me and were very patient when I asked dumb questions like "where is the sugar" and it ended up being right behind me. They were also just nice people; when I left, one of the baristas stopped his conversation and went to hold the door for me. It made my entire day better. I would go probably go back for a coffee treat fairly regularly. read more

Had a great time at Blue Bottle Coffee today! I am vegan and although there are no vegan pastries, the cooler has Chia pudding and and one other similar food. They also had an avocado toast and peanut butter and jelly toast with bread from Iggy's which is almost always vegan. I also got a really great iced green tea and my boyfriend got one of the best cold brews he's ever had. Really great place! read more

Not usually one to complain on here (first Yelp review posted) and I understand new staff needs training and time to learn "the ropes", which sometimes takes longer for some, but waiting 17minutes on a latte when only one order was ahead of mine is a bit absurd. It was not enjoyable or worth the wait and definitely not worth the money. More staff members than guests and it seemed like it was everyone's first week working with coffee.... or working in general. With a coffee shop on every street corner in Boston now, it may be a good idea to set your training expectations just a little bit higher. read more

Yes, Blue Bottle is expensive, and it's now owned by Nestle which probably chips away at its independent artisanal handcrafted insert hipster buzzword cred. I like the coffee though and I love the nice spaces that Blue bottle places create. Tough to get a seat at this place but it's so nice and bright and comfortable and pretty to sit in. Boston/Cambridge is so seriously lacking in coffee places where that aren't dark and cramped. Seasonal affective is bad enough here already! Yes, I got California coffee in Boston. I know. But it was so good. I wasn't much of a coffee addict in California, but now that I had a better appreciation for it - I couldn't forsake the chance to try it out. I got a cappuccino and it was delicious. It was strong, creamy, and made me wish I ordered a larger size. I may have licked the inside of the plastic cup. I will say though, that this place is popular! I stopped in after finding out that Blue Bottle has finally made its way to Cambridge. I wanted to catch up on work but there was no Wi-Fi, so be sure to have a backup plan if you'll end up needing internet while you're there. The cafe itself is beautiful and tucked right off the main road on Bow St. There's a ton of natural light and minimalist decoration around, which made it an extremely enjoyable spot to read emails and have coffee. This time my experience was decent, especially because I loved the aesthetics, and I'm looking forward to stopping in more to get a feel for the range of coffee (and snacks!) on the menu. read more

I can't attest to the coffee, but I like their green tea, which I believe is genmai cha (at least it tastes like it). It isn't a simple tea bag, but rather they actually brew the tea leaves with care as they do with their drip coffee, making an actual difference in the fragrance and taste. The only reason I am giving three stars is because they frequently run out of materials for many of their menu items (even green tea), and they close early. I've been disappointed several times to make my way to the cafe only to find that everything I wanted were all sold out. But I guess that also attests to their popularity, which is good. read more

After Blue Bottle set the standard for "third wave" coffee I would hope that they also set the standard for quality control. My macchiato was barely palatable (overly bitter, milk steamed too much). Blue Bottle Cambridge is setting the standard for making bad coffee with great beans. If you want good coffee, head to 3 Little Figs in Somerville or Loyal Nine in Cambridge. Big fan of Blue Bottle. Tried their $16 Yemen, Wife had a cappuccino and a sandwich (pesto arugula mozzarella). Yemen coffee was fantastic. Well balanced and paired will with the cardamom cookie. I read online I was supposed to get an informative pamphlet (history of Yemen coffee), but didn't get one with my order. Wife was pretty happy with her order, too. The store is quite big and has lots of windows, we didn't have any issue finding a seat on a busy Sunday afternoon. If you like good coffee, swing by this place. read more

Literally the best coffee/cafe experience I have ever had. The staff are always bright rays of sunshine, so kind and generous!! My friend and I came in for some Oji coffee (a real delicacy), and we thought they were out and were so disappointed until our new favorite barista, Steven, generously gave us some of the batch for the next day no charge. Then as we were sitting working at a table, he also came to give us some sandwiches and baked goods before closing! Bless these new summer hours. We will be back for some Oji and to say hi to Steven. Today is my worst day in my life. This afternoon my girlfriend and I went to Blue Bottle to order two cups of coffee, I order hot Latte, and she order Mocha. it is our first time to go Blue Bottle and we won't go in again in our life. We saw there was no any seat left. So we took coffee to go to Harvard Yard and enjoy this afternoon. We sat on the step and talked about love. And then we went on MBTA red line south bound. When the train Kendall/MIT station, I felt my stomach was very weird. I want to shit. I was thinking maybe I could go to Park street station and there is a Burger King, maybe I could shit there. And then, very fast, I shit on my paint before train passed Charles/MGH station. And then, I was very embarrassed. I tried to stay calm. I don't want other passengers notice I shit in my jeans. And then, my girlfriend wants to shit. But she held it. I got off the train in JFK/Umass station, that is my stop, and I know there is a toilet. I ran into toilet and took off my jeans, it's shit everywhere. I throw away my underwear, and put a lot of toilet paper inside my jeans, I heard my girlfriend urged me faster cause she want to shit as well. I clean myself and came out very fast, she told me she could hold. So we went home, I took shower, and she went to other restroom to shit. It is my most embarrassed day in my life. Two hours before drinking coffee, we both didn't eat anything, and we didn't eat anything before we diarrhea. Therefore, we strongly believe the coffee here has problem, and this is my first and last time drink Blue Bottle coffee. read more

Blue bottle is my go-to coffee spot in general but what's great about this location is that it has ample seating for studying or meeting up with a friend. There is even a small standing counter you can occupy when seating fills up and you already planned to meet someone there. The coffee of course is delicious and the baristas here are all professionals. Make sure you try the New Orleans iced coffee which is lightened with milk and slightly sweet with a hint of chicory. read more

I make an effort to have Blue Bottle Coffee on East and West Coasts. The baristas are great here, and the lattes are beautifully done. I suggest walking, but parking along Bow Street is possible with coins or with the Pay By Phone app used by the City of Cambridge. read more
