    Iced mocha latte
    Maya B.

No laptops allowed! But that allowed the chance to read my book at one of the community tables as others were doing the same, which was a nice moment. Ordered an iced mocha latte, strong, but added some simple syrup and it was great. The inside seating gets full fast but there's also seating outside available.

Seriously one of the best cafes around Boston. Their warm lattes are smooth, heartwarming and delicious! You really can't go wrong with their classics, but their Seasonal Maple Sea Salt Latte was life changing. Plus, no additional cost for oat milk which is amazing. If you can get one before they sell out, would highly recommend trying their pastries. The chocolate chip cookie was incredible. Would definitely say their staff was lovely as well! Pleasant convos and service all around. If you're looking for an aesthetic chic cafe that checks all the boxes, look no further.

Love the vibe of this cafe. Ordered a latte with a house made sea salt caramel (might be misremembering the exact flavor) syrup. Got it to go, and also love that the lids aren't plastic. They didn't have that many pastries left when I arrived on Thursday at 1pm, so didn't try any. Overall, would come again!

Pastries plate is almost gone by 1230pm on a sunny Sunday!

Yes! 1. High quality coffee (review from a coffee snob friend). 2. Delicious fresh(!) pastries, reasonably priced. I got the pistachio-chocolate croissant, agree other flavors were already gone. It was delicious. 3. Nice attitude of the owner. And orphand/ unclaimed coffee was given for free to not throw it away.. 4. They have outdoor seating (which could use some love, but still).

    Golden milk (turmeric drink)
    Bailey B.

I had the golden milk (?) which was a turmeric honey drink. It was pretty good but I was given it in a disposable cup despite telling them I was planning to stay so that was a bit of a bummer. This could have been because they ran out of cups because the place was full capacity. We went on a weekend afternoon and it was PACKED. I'm talking we sat at the large table crowded around about 1 ft of the corner space. Also they say no laptops but people were working on their iPads so that seems safe. The no laptops may be more of a space consideration, which I completely get. The whole time I was there, people were having to just get to go because the seats were so full, or they'd wait about 20 minutes for one to open up. Be prepared to bring headphones or for your convo to be overheard because you're packed in. Overall, I liked the vibe a lot and would love to return on a weekday when it would be less insane.

Faro is such a quaint little space. Super cozy and felt like a chic but inviting 20-something's living room. It's tucked away just off the main road. They have a no wifi and no laptop policy which was unexpected but after catching up with friend here for a couple hours, I understood. It looks like they host some community events in the evenings too. The cappuccino was definitely above average. The espresso's richness really came through the milk foam. They charge extra for dairy, but oat milk is free.

I love this little cafe. They have a no laptop policy so it's the perfect place to bring a book. The staff are super friendly.

Still as great as always. This is my go to spot when I'm in Cambridge and want a great chai, coffee or matcha in a cozy chill space that is great for socializing or a date/studying. Thanks to the friendly staff as always as well

Iced Oatmilk Latte with Seasonal Earl Grey Syrup (Oct 2023)
    Yutin Z.

Cozy cafe! The place is decorated very nicely and offers a variety of drinks and pastries. I ordered the seasonal iced latte which is an iced latte with their seasonal earl grey syrup! The latte was smooth and perfect amount of sweetness, I really enjoyed it. It's also nice that they do not charge extra for oat milk. Note there is a $0.25 cent additional charge for cows milk. The service here was great as well! I was also able to find some parking nearby. Would recommend checking this place out.

I visited Faro and ordered a matcha latte. The shop itself was charming and cozy, creating an inviting atmosphere. The matcha latte, fell short of my expectations. I prefer my lattes to be creamy with a bit of foam, but this one lacked the craftsmanship I was hoping for. Overall, the experience wasn't memorable, and it's unlikely that I'll be returning. The ambiance was there, but unfortunately, the quality of the drink did not match up. *Cool spot to gather but not to work or study since they are laptop laptop-free cafe.

super cute cafe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I came here on a Sunday morning and the cafe was already packed! I ordered their hibiscus tea and croissant and both were delicious. their hibiscus tea has plenty of flavor without it being too overpowering. their croissant was flakey and sweet and just the perfect size. this location offers indoor and outdoor seating, but come early because their seats are always taken! I believe they don't charge extra for plant based milk which is always a pro! this is the perfect place to meet up with friends and catch up.

I finally got to try this spot and I was not disappointed! I like that they do not charge oat milk by default and in fact charge for cow milk (as someone who is lactose intolerant I feel seen). They've definitely paid attention to customer feedback because the pastries are now in a covered area so that customers at the register are not breathing all over them. However, it would help if they had clearer signs to display what the house latte was -- I understand that the house latte changes all the time, but even a blackboard that is easy to erase/change would be helpful so that the person at the register doesn't have to repeat themselves 50 times a day. I tried their house latte with oatmilk ($6) which was lavender at the time. I also got one of the savory scones. The latte was delicious! The espresso and oatmilk were not burned and the lavender flavor was strong without the latte being too sweet. My understanding is that their pastries are not made in-house but rather sourced from a local bakery. I would still recommend them though, because the scone I had was moist, cheesy, and herby! The baristas/cashiers were very kind. The air circulation in the cafe was not great on a muggy June day but I could imagine that sitting in their outdoor area would be great when the seats are not wet.

The space is pretty tight and it was really busy when I showed up but absolutely cleared out as I sat down to eat. I ordered a cold brew, which was a bit watery, but I like it super dark so it's probably just my taste preference. They put the milk/cream in for you and you pick the coffee up in a separate spot from the food. They call your name for both pickups. For food I got the devilled egg open face bagel that has bacon on top on a whole wheat everything bagel. Eating it was intense. I couldn't put it down once I picked up each side and had to be very careful not to spill the egg mixture off the top. It took a while to eat but was amazingly delicious and exactly what I wanted. I would eat it everyday if I could. If it came with micro greens on top, it would be even better. The mixture had red onions which gave it a punch and crunchy texture. I considered adding salt to the mixture on top but I'm glad I didn't because the bagel itself had sea salt so each bite was salty enough. When I ordered I asked if I could also get 2 bagels to bring home and I was told the limit is 1 on weekends and 2 during the week. The manager (I assume) stepped in and said I could have 2 so I chose the rosemary sea salt, which the only have on weekends. I made breakfast sandwiches on them the next day and it was heavenly. The restaurant had a really great ambiance, and I enjoyed being able to watch the chefs prepare the food. We ordered the ginger cabbage salad, the coconut eggplant, and the duck noodles. I would have loved to have tried their sushi grade salmon, but they were unfortunately sold out for the night. So I would recommend arriving earlier if you would like to try it. My favorite dish was the duck noodles. I liked the freshness of the basil in the pesto, and the tenderness and juiciness of the duck. The coconut eggplant was a close second favorite. The coconut flavor was delicious, and I liked the nuts on top for crunch. I also found the ginger cabbage salad to be yummy, but not as much as a standout as the other two dishes. Overall, I really enjoyed this spot for dinner. I liked how fresh everything was, and how the dishes felt very light and healthy. It's definitely a bit on the pricier side, but I found it to be very worth it. I definitely come back and try their lattes and other dishes.

TLDR: You can't go wrong with a warm, freshly made waffle…read morehere, but people definitely have their individual preferences. My recommendation is to go with the Liege waffle with berries and your pick of any other toppings. With a cozy atmosphere and the smell of warm waffles, this is an especially good spot during the colder months, but still a favorite in the warmer months too. ------ FOOD: THE LIEGE (5/5) The Liege waffle is the classic here and the one I'd recommend. Sweet, thick, and a richer snack (i.e. the satisfying treat you're probably looking for if you're stopping by a waffle shop). All of the topping combos are classic, and the berries they use here are high quality. Waffles come out hot and fresh after just being made, so if you order ice cream or whipped cream, know that you'll have to eat quickly if you don't want it to melt into the waffle. THE BRUSSELS (4.5/5) Besides the Liege, the Brussels waffle is an interesting choice and very different from the Liege. As the menu describes, it's definitely significantly lighter, and it's crispier in a different way (not from the caramelization of the pearl sugar but from crisped up batter similar to an Ego waffle). It's extremely delicate, so I'd recommend just doing some powdered sugar and maybe a chocolate drizzle or some whipped cream. ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * Small shop on the edge of Harvard Square. Some window seating and a few small tables best for groups of 2 - 4. * Given how small it is inside, finding a seat during peak hours can be particularly challenging, and lines can be out the door too. ------ SERVICE: * Order at the kiosk and then find a seat (if you can). When a waffle is done, they'll call a name and come to you once you indicate that it's for you. * Water and utensils are self-service, and the expectation is that you put your plates, utensils, and cups away in a bin inside by the counter.

The ultimate sweetness is evident from the ingredients. The waffle was light and crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside; the sweetness of the banana and caramel is mellow and rich, the pearl sugar was slightly caramelized, and the sweetness of the cream was natural and light. Every bite offered a different layer of flavor. But most importantly, it was really sweet, and sweetness is the most soul-stirring enjoyment. It was sweet enough to bring peace, allowing you to temporarily escape the world and focus on this plate of beautiful fairytale. Café au Lait (Latte): Beautifully layered, with a natural milky aroma. We didn't get one of the menu items we ordered. The server never came around so it was hard to ask for it. When we finally caught her to let her know, we were almost done eating, and we were still charged for it. No one came by to check on our meal, and no one came by with our check. It took a long time to flag down our server each time, even when there weren't many tables in the cafe. When the handheld payment machine was given to me to pay and prompted me for a tip amount, the server held it across the table rather than giving it to me or placing it on the table, so I felt pressured to choose one of the high prefilled amounts, even though the service was terrible. This makes it awkward for the customer to give anything less than the set amounts. It is also rude to reach across the table. For the average food and below average service, I wouldn't return to Bluestone, considering there are so many other options in the area with better service.
