I contacted Hanley Gallery to frame and memorialize the amazing collaborative effort that the top 3 DC Comic Artists created of Batman and Catwoman in the rain; I met the 3 Artists and purchased their art from San Diego Comic Con (which is no small feat). Scott, the owner, has a Studio in his 3 car Garage in Folsom. I was offered sparkling and flavored water during our consultation. Hanley Gallery only provides High-End framing which means high quality matting, border frames, and museum glass (almost no reflection). Scott has a surprisingly large amount of frames and colored borders to choose from for his garage. I liked that he minimized any changes or touching of the artwork so that if I ever chose to take it out - the artwork would remain I damaged. The completed framing was completed 3 weeks later and was wrapped in foam and brown paper for transportation. I was amazed that the end product looked even better than I had seen during the consultation. The framing extended the artwork thanks to the turquoise color sync of the matting to the artwork and the rain drops on the wooden frame. Tip: If you want something cheap and quick, this isn't for you. Also, read the other 10+ reviews that's not posted up here and listed under "not recommended". Scott did a fabulous job with my two antique prints that needed a refresh. I had nearly destroyed one of the prints by trying to DIY it. (Lesson learned - leave this work to the professionals!) At first, the idea of going to someone's home business seemed a little awkward, but it was perfectly great. He has a totally pro workshop in his garage and you enter through a side door. My prints turned out great! He helped me pick out coordinating matting and treated the old pieces with much care. He even reinforced the backs by adding some black batting to the back and attaching them with tiny screws. I'll be back! read more

We recently had nine large portraits framed by Scott at Hanley's Framing. He did an excellent job. These were 18 x 24 and he was able to make each one look perfect in different size frames. He was able to take canvas off stretcher bars and mount it into my existing frames perfectly. Several other places in town refused to do it for me. Scott's ability to think outside of the box saved the day. He was very knowledgeable and the finished Family Tree Gallery he made for us is awesome. I brought my antique embroidered artwork to Scott for remounting, straightening, and repair after it was severely damaged during shipping. I had brought it to another local framer who was unsuccessful in straightening it. This was a last ditch effortand I wasn't very hopeful for a successful resolution. Tried to do business with Scott at Hanley Gallery Picture Framing and was sorely disappointed. I made arrangements to do a rush framing job for my fiancee's Christmas present, a custom star map of our first date. I told Scott I'd like to come down as soon as possible and he said he would be in the studio all day and to come on down. When I arrived about 1.5 hours later, he was with another customer and asked me to wait. I sat in his living room for over 30 minutes, more than I am allowed for my lunch break, before I finally had to get up and leave for fear of getting written up at work. I found this very disrespectful of my time, especially since I had explained to him I'd have to use my lunch break in order to meet him. I tried to do the right thing and support a local business despite a higher cost, but unfortunately Hanley Gallery doesn't seem to be very well managed. I should have just taken it to one of the big companies. His dog Colby is very nice and sweet, however. At least the dog kept me company while I sat there unattended for a half hour. read more

I was very unhappy that my large canvas was damaged while in storage at this shop. I took the acrylic painting to a restoration artist who told me the canvas was improperly stretched and that the piece would need to be dismatlntled and reframed i spent over $700 here to get a poor result. On Tuesday morning my husband and I contacted Hanley Gallery with an emergency last minute request. My Grandfather passed away Friday September 16th and my husband had a commemoration plaque made for him. When the plaque arrived here in CA it was broken. We were set to preset it to my Grandmother later that day and were desperate to get it fixed. When we called Scott he said to bring it by as soon as we could so that he could take a look at it and see what he could do. We got the frame dropped off and Scott said he could get it done that afternoon, but did not want to rush the work. When we came to pick it up it was absolutely beautiful. Scott took special care of the commemoration plaque. He put in UV protecting glass and made a replacement frame out of wood. When my Grandmother saw the plaque she cried; it was perfect. The craftsmanship work was impeccable and the attention to detail was perfect. It was almost a blessing that it arrived broken because the work done at Hanley Gallery was exceptional. I had couple Batik fabric paintings that sat in my cupboard for a long time. I bought these in India few years ago but never found someone with reasonable fees to frame them. I reached out to Scott to see if he could frame the fabric art. He gave me the estimate and said he did not want to do a rush job and asked for some time. Well, these pieces were with me for years, so I was in no rush. He gave me couple options on the frame styles and colors. But I left it on him to pick the best frame that pops the art. He took couple weeks to complete and when I received the frames, I was simply amazed! They looked beautiful. He not only took care of the fabric by carefully ironing it (it was folded with lots of creases), but took extra care to not ruin the fabric.
