I called the number provided, and an AI voice Attendant answered and when I asked to speak to the front desk, it hung up on me 4 times. The fifth time I called, it connected me to a live person, who was able to give me the email address I asked for. Also, I was informed that Blue Coast Cardiology does not have a website. This is fine. However, it should be shared in a simple statement, on search engine sites like google, Facebook and others, that their information, that they do not have a website, and that they have an automated voice front desk. The automated voice, should give the address, and the option to speak with a live person. Their doctors are very good. read more

The office staff was really kind to me. I really appreciated that. The TV in the waiting room was sometimes too loud. They had the nature channel on so sometimes it showed animals attacking each other which was a little unpleasant. The waiting room itself was nice. Dr. Bui was really friendly and kind on the first visit. On the second visit, not so much. She was brutally honest about what she thought about me. On one hand, I could appreciate her honesty, but she was very wrong in her judgment. I had a test done that proved I had a medical problem. She told me that she took back what she said about me. That was really nice of her. On the third and fourth visit, she was better. I don't dislike Dr. Bui as a person, but as a doctor, I think she should have not been so quick to judge. Or at least she could have kept what she thought to herself and let the tests show her what was going on. The second visit was just awkward and felt weird. I would not recommend her to family and friends because I don't think they would like her personality. If she would have said to them what she said to me, they wouldn't have gone back for more testing and treatment. I don't think this doctor is for everyone. You need to be persistent when you know something is wrong despite what the doctor may say. read more

I have been going to Blue Coast Cardiology for over 20 years. Since I had fluid around my heart and was having trouble breathing because of the intense pressure. Dr. Spiegel and Dr. Bui have always been kind, helpful, patient and thorough in explaining my condition and what is needed to correct it. The office staff is also top of the line and very caring. I recommend them especially for those who are fearful of medical offices and may suffer from panic attacks on rare occasions. Grateful to them all for being there for me. read more

We got another appointment to come back for follow up after wearing the 2 weeks heart monitor. We were told that our doctor is not working that day and had to see a nurse practitioner! Now I am beyond pissed. If I want to be seen by a NP then I would have specified. I specifically made the appointment so that my family member can be seen with the previous doctor for the follow up. I was referred to Blue Coast Cardiology by Tri-City Hospital, after being diagnosed with persistent afib in their ER. After multiple visits to Blue Coast, and at least half a dozen different tests over six weeks, we were shocked to discover that my doctor had not even bothered to review my test results. I walked out, and never looked back. I quickly did some research, found an outstanding cardiologist not too far away, and I am now on the mend. Blue Coast Cardiology seemed to be more intent on test giving and billing Medicare, than in treating me. read more

I was referred to Dr Bui following a frightening mini-stroke and an unrelated aortic aneuryism was discovered. Dr Bui focused her attention on me with an unhurried and thorough interview and exam; her calmness and methodical approach was not "detached" or "robotic", but made me feel like she had been waiting all week just for me. She scheduled periodic follow-ups, and in one instance referred me to a particular out-of-town specialist for a specific assessment. She broadcasts a concern for wellness, not only illness. The woman who does her appointments and reminders on the phone also expresses kindness with her phraseology and her tone, which is therapeutic for my worries. If I could put zero stars on this I would! I have been seeing Dr. Kenneth Carr since 2007. He sold his office and moved to Blue Coast Cardiology where I did see him once. Then he moved again and instead of telling me where I could find him, Blue Coast Cardiology insisted that now he only sees patients in the hospital. Not only that, but all of my records were lost according to them because they were 2 different computer systems. If Blue Coast has access to the Tri-City hospital records, they can get them easily. Every time I called or tried to see him, I was told he doesn't see patients outside the hospital anymore. Even their answering service told me that. In December of 2020 I had to see a cardiologist for a checkup at Blue Coast Cardiology in Vista, CA. and made an appointment with Doctor Ashish Kabra. During the appointment, Dr. Kabra stated he wanted to see me again in six months for a follow up and an appointment was made for June 15, 2021. Three days before the appointment I received a reminder call for the appointment and the next day received an email reminder. As I was getting ready for my appointment on the morning of June 15, 2021 I received a call from Michelle at Blue Coast Cardiology telling me that Dr. Kabra was no longer with Blue Coast and they needed to reschedule my appointment with one of their assistants (PA) and they set it to June 21, 2021. I then learned that Dr. Kabra had left Blue Coast Cardiology in February of 2021. That information upset me, because they never called to inform me of the change until the day of the appointment, even after two reminder calls. When I called to inquire why they had not informed me sooner, I was told they were too busy to call me, yet they had time to call me to remind me of the appointment. I asked where Dr. Kabra had moved to and was told they did not know. He was less than a half mile away from them. I then located Dr. Kabra's new location at North County Cardiovascular Specialists in Oceanside, CA and called them to set an appointment with Dr. Kabra. The office help at North County Cardiovascular are so nice, not like the rude help at Blue Coast. I have no intention of going back to Blue Coast Cardiology and will tell my friends of the experience I had with them. Hopefully my words will help others who need to see a cardiologist. read more

This is not a review for the doctors. I do think that Dr. Carr is quite good and empathetic. But the office management is a disaster. I've been asking for a simple receipt/document for my insurance company and they can't get their act together after a week. Can't get anyone on the phone. I have been a patient of Blue Coast Cardiology for almost 2 years. I have visited with Dr. Spiegel as well as my Primary Cardiologist, Dr. Bui on office visits. Dr. Spiegel performed a Cardioversion last March as well as a Cardiac Catheterization while I was hospitalized at Tri-City Hospital for 6 days in January of this year. In both instances, both Dr. Spiegel and his support staff functioned with military-like discipline during the procedures and exhibited compassion, care and professionalism at all times. My pre- and post-procedure briefings with Dr. Spiegel answered all of the questions that I had and gave me clear direction going forward. The same can be said of my interaction with Dr. Bui. She gives me credit for understanding my personal health and treatment history / picture and includes me in the process. Dr. Bui offers her advice and direction as much as is needed while genuinely listening to my questions and concerns. Honest, Compassionate and Very Knowledgeable. She also encourages open communication via e-mail when a phone call is not convenient. Questions are answered very promptly and concisely. Don't even consider going to this practice if you are handicapped or caring for someone who is handicapped. There were no handicapped parking spaces available. We had to park in the general parking area. After walking to front of building, there are five steps up to entrance or you can walk the long way around to a ramp. Practice is on second floor all the way in back of building. No consideration was taken for handicapped patients. read more

My mother was referred to Blue Coast Cardiology, the ladies at the front and all the assistants are wonderful. My mother went through various testing and we were given a final appointment to go over the results. The appointment was set for 5:45 pm, we arrived by 530 and waited until about 5:55 to be seen, then waited another 10 minutes un the room for the Dr. Bui. The assistant that took my mother's BP noted it at 179/80, I said that was quite high and she responded that the Dr. would take her BP again. To every appointment I have taken my 4 year old daughter, she is very polite and sits and observes what they do to her Grandma, watches her Ipad and once in a while asks if her grandma is going to be ok. I have never had an issue with her at any Dr.'s appointment for my mother. Anyhow, Dr. Bui came in, we greeted her, my daughter said hello(big mistake) Dr. Bui asked three questions, I responded to two of the questions and she said she needed to look for some results so she left. about 5 minutes later the secretary came in and asked if I could leave the room because my daughter was disruptive. I am my mother's translator, and although the Dr. Bui does speak some Spanish it is not fluent enough to convey the medical information However, I we left the room, Dr, Bui was just standing outside. She went in with my mother, told her that her heart was fine and to change a medication because that was the cause of her slow pulse. Never took my mother's BP again, did not go over any instructions for the new medication, told her to get a blood test done but did not explain why or what for. She asked my mother why her BP was so high, but my mother is not a Doctor so she did not know. to which Dr,. Bui just said come back in three months. My mother was out of the room in ln about 3 minutes. I do not know if Dr. Bui hates children and got angry that my daughter said hello to her, or if she just got angry because I answered her question or because I answered in English. ( she was trying to speak Spanish, but it was not fluent enough to have conversation on my mother's health issues), or maybe she was just in a hurry, tired from a long day and we happened to be her last appointment. In any case, she was rude, condescending and failed to give my mother the time and care that we paid for. Dr. Bui was not doing us a favor, we were paying for her services. As a Doctor it is her duty to remain professional and give the best care possible to her patients. I feel we were treated with such disrespect and we will never go back to see her. The wonderful lady at the front desk is the one that had to come in tell me to leave the room. She apologized and was so sweet about it.. but she did look embarrassed. As I said, this was not the first time my daughter was there, we had been there 4 different times prior to this one and not once had I had any complaints. If you plan on going to go see this Dr. Bui, be ready to get no more than 15 minutes with her, get charged an arm and a leg and be treated with disrespect. read more

UNETHICAL BILLING PRACTICES!!! If you don't have high blood pressure BEFORE you go here, you will afterwards!!! After seeing Dr. Kabra twice last fall, I don't know when they filed my insurance, but my insurance paid them in April and May of this year. Yesterday (June 24) I got a very nasty letter from Christina H. in their billing office, accusing me of ignoring "several statements" and saying my account was PAST DUE! The statement showing my insurance copay being posted to my account is dated 6/20/19. NO ONE ACCUSES ME OF BEING A DEADBEAT AND IGNORING MY BILLS! My credit score is EXCEPTIONAL, and that would not be the case if I did not pay my bills! And in addition to this nasty UNTRUE letter being sent to me, I was informed that a copy goes into my medical chart! WHAT??? I will NEVER set foot in this office again!!! Oh, and Christina said the letters are computer generated and she doesn't look at them. Then how does her signature get on them? read more

My dad is a patient of Dr. Kabra's and he has had nothing but the best care, he is attentive to my dads needs and that isn't just for cardiology with all of this COVID stuff my dad was having a rough time and Dr. Kabra listened and was willing to help. Then there was an instance where my dad had to go to the hospital and Dr. Kabra wasn't on call so Dr. Spiegel came in to the ER to make sure the plan of attack was the right one for my dad. Let me just say Dr. Spiegel didn't need to do this but he did it because he knew our family(me) was nervous and he wanted to put my mind at ease in a very trying time. This is office is amazing!! They are always there for us and it isn't just my dad because he is the patient they are there for the entire family. If you need a cardiologist in the Vista/Oceanside/Escondido please go to them. I had a widow-maker heart attack at Tri-city hospital in their ER. 100% blockage of my LAD. I should have died but Dr. Speigel was the cardiologist who inserted one stent in my heart. But, the damage was done. I lost 1/3 of my heart function. Dr. Speigel was an ange! Along with his staff. Dr. Speigel referred me to his associate, Dr. Kabra at Blue Coast Cardiology. I was seen by him for a year. I wasn't happy with him initially but figured if Speigel recommended him he must be good. I was wrong!!! My initial problem had to do with him not phoning in my prescriptions. I was at the pharmacy two weeks after letting the doctor know I needed refills but the pharmacist told me they'd called several times but the doctor nor staff called them back. I was angry! Here I'd had one of the worst heart attacks one can have and I was being dicked around by the incompetence of one man, calling himself a cardiologist! Granted, I have expectations that are apparently too high for this cardiac office. I didn't want to die and expressed myself verbally with harshness! Then I was due for blood work prior to having a stress test. No one called or faxed or whatever to make certain the necessary instruction were there! I called and again expressed my anger that after two weeks they couldn't relay the instructions as to my blood draw! With each visit, I realized he didn't like me and subsequently wasn't providing me with the quality of care I required. Here's another example of his glibness: I was having welts and itching of my skin and asked for his opinion. Instead of saying, "I have no idea", he told me I had SCABIES! I didn't have scabies . . . I was and am allergic to all opiod medications. SCABIES! Really!??? I live alone and the chances of me having scabies are those of winning the lottery. But, he didn't know that because he didn't take time to look at my chart. He never took time to look at my chart! He never took time to explain anything. It was like dealing with someone on a conveyor belt. I would wait and then he was in and out as quickly as possible. Then there's the fact that they don't answer their phone! It just rings and rings. No recording, nothing. Let's not leave out the back of the patient room doors - filthy. Finger prints, palm prints and god only knows what else. My final visit was for the nuclear stress test. This test takes time, and eventually I used the bathroom. What a horror! Long black hair on the floor. Sink was dirty. It was like going to the bathroom at a gas station. I addressed all (but the bathroom) issues with Dr. Karbra. He was glib regarding all these things. He made no attempt to calm my fears and honestly, I believe he was making me miserable so I'd leave - which I did. At my new-to-me cardiologist, I told them to get my records from Dr. Kabra's office along with the results of the stress test. I hadn't received the results for that test yet. My new to me cardiologist told me Dr Kabra's office would not provide any of my information. So I had to undergo yet another stress test, along with blood work, etc.! Within a month of the test, the doctor recommended a pacemaker/ defibulator due to my low heart. It was 42! He was surprised I was doing as well as I was. With the pacemaker/defibulator installed and healed, my heart rate maintains a steady 60! Which inabled me to have hip replacement surgery. With one hip healed and the other scheduled for replacement in October 2020, I can walk with significantly less pain. What is left of my heart is preforming much better. I have more energy and the ability to live a more satisfying life. With Dr. Kabra's 'care' there wasn't a day that went by I didn't think suicide was my only option! So, if you are considering his help . . . don't. Please note, he dresses very well if you care. I didn't. I wasn't there to gain a friend, I was there to save my life and Dr. Kabra wasn't helpful in that regard. And, finally, they billed the wrong address for my insurance subsequently requiring me to fix their idiocy! Oh, I did that with one phone call! If you can . . . RUN AWAY and find another practice. read more

I would not recommend you to Dr. Bui unless you want to be in the grand cattle call of patients. She operates on a 15 minute per patient schedule. Recently I had some serious concerns and was treated with disrespect and condescension. I always bring notes to help with the matter at hand and I take notes to prepare to follow through. Dr Bui did not appreciate what I brought to the discussion about my heart. She didn't appreciate it when I asked questions or for clarification. If you want a caring interactive approach to your cardio needs, I would NOT recommend Dr. Bui. I will no longer be one of her patients and quite shockingly in conclusion she stated that I should look for a cardiac concierge. read more
