I needed to have camper fully winterized, after watered up for trial run and orientation for me as a buyer, because I live in the mountains of WNC and temps still were way below freezing. They re-winterized this camper for me w/o a charge! Just all around nice folks! Finally in April, I called service dept to have one warranty issue fixed and asked if they would de-winterize camper and show me how to do this bc temps may easily dip back down in mtns again. James, who is in the service dept , could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable and patient!!...when I heard his phone ringing constantly! He is really a jewel in the crown of this company. I don't think many places have someone if this calibre, especially when dealing with new owners, than this man! Again I say that this dealership is greatly enhanced by him! ​I am very disappointed with the service I received regarding the purchase of our new 2026 Momentum 320G. The salesman was aware of the issues we experienced from the beginning but failed to follow up to ensure they were resolved. ​Given the importance of referrals and repeat business, one would expect a proactive approach to customer satisfaction, especially after discussing these issues with him in person. ​Additionally, the finance representative was overly aggressive in attempting to sell the warranty. ​Furthermore, during our initial walkthrough, it was evident that a proper pre-delivery inspection had not been performed prior to our arrival. Upon lowering the rear door of the toy hauler, we discovered a broken wheel and another missing wheel on the deck gate, alongside a torn screen. Rather than addressing these issues immediately, we were advised that this was a warranty issue and to take the vehicle home and return it three weeks later due to service backups. I objected, emphasizing that because the unit was brand new, these pre-existing defects should not be treated as a standard warranty claim. ​Although this occurred on December 15th, the dealership retained possession of the RV until March--returning it just one week before a major month-long trip we had scheduled. To make matters worse, two wheels were still missing from the deck railing upon its return, and they remain unreplaced to this day. Moreover, the switch to start the generator from inside is inoperative, however it can be turned off with that switch. The unit was brought back to the dealership on April 15th and to date nothing has been done. Attempts to resolve this by contacting Grand Design headquarters directly results in conflicting information. ​While the dealership did finally order the necessary TPMS sensors two weeks ago, which they still have not received, the problem with the generator is still not fixed. Our overall experience has been entirely unacceptable. Due to the extensive delays, we have been forced to pay for an empty storage lot for months. Because of this severe lack of service and accountability, we will no longer do business with Blue Compass, nor will we work with this particular salesperson at any future dealerships. I just purchased a used class C, I really wish I had looked over the reviews, before my visit or purchase. I trusted what I was told during the after purchase walk thru, only to have to put all new tires on the coach, Then getting ready for our first trip and find the fresh water tank hadn't been checked as I was told, I had to remove the wood from the bed to access the pump supply shutoff and tank drain before filling the tank even though I was told it was checked. Now I'm wondering what else is wrong. Also the rv complete plan looks as if you get the thousand trails membership when you purchase the five-year plan and also you get the RV Complete membership with that purchase, but it's not so. Buyer beware of anything you are told (trust but verify for yourself). read more

Customer service is terrible as well as service, I purchased a used 2021 camper from them a year ago April and I let them talk me into a extended warranty ( don't waist your money on it, it doesn't cover anything) had two leaks tha caused damage to my cabinet in the bathroom ( extended warranty doesn't cover water leaks) they sold me the camper in April I had tried the heater in February (was planning a trip and it sounded like a jet taking off, took it back to them and the warranty didn't cover it because it was less than the deductible had it less than a year and they still had no problem charging me for the repair. I sold it to campers world in April this year for a big loss, the extended warranty isn't transferable to a dealer but they did say that blue compass could prorate it and send me back some of what it cost, I called them and they said they would email me the paperwork to sign, now mind you they have all my information from when I purchased it but I never received anything from them,. I called and asked if they sent it and gave them my email address and John said he had the wrong email ( now I received all kinds of emails from them last year they had the right address then, it hasn't changed) but then John said he would sent it right out, still haven't received it. We bought a new camper last summer. This is 2nd camper we have bought from Blue Moon. Sometime before Christmas the slide broke. We had to take to service department. We have had so many phone calls to them. We called after Jan. 1 to check status. We got the run around and finally called the manufacturer. Parts hadn't not been ordered. 2-3 weeks later still not fixed. My husband even called the service dept. at least 2-3 times per week. We finally brought the camper home on MARCH 25!!!!! I will never go there again. I had to cancel 5 camping trips. So please beware. There was no reason for them to take that long. Do Not Trust Your RV with Blue Compass RV Spartanburg (formerly Sonny's Camp-N-Travel) Our experience with Blue Compass RV Spartanburg has been an absolute nightmare. We brought our 2023 Grand Design Solitude in for a few repairs (including a frame flex issue and roof leak) and were told it would take about 3 weeks. Instead, it took over 14 weeks, and even then, many of the repairs were either incomplete or poorly done. Communication was terrible from the start. We were promised regular updates but only received two phone calls the entire time. Getting in touch with our service advisor was incredibly difficult throughout. We even had to contact the sales department a few times just to get messages through. Calls and voicemails to the service manager went unanswered as well. When we finally visited the dealership in person just before pick-up (after months of repeated delays), we found that many repairs hadn't been started, parts hadn't been ordered (despite multiple reminders), and the service advisor tried to downplay or deflect responsibility. Even worse, we later learned from the general manager that all critical frame welds (which we waited over two weeks to have completed by a "professional") had been done incorrectly and had to be totally redone--something we were initially lied to about by the service team. When we picked up our RV (with several key repairs still ignored or unfinished), we had six new water leaks appear within days--clearly caused by their failure to properly winterize the unit. This was a service they promised us would be done on the day of drop-off, and ensured us we had nothing to worry about. We've now spent over $5,000 on mobile repair techs, replacement parts, and additional lodging just to make the RV livable again. On top of that, less urgent issues remain that we have not yet had an opportunity to address (and pay for). Some of the other problems we encountered after pickup: - Broken plumbing fixtures - A damaged slide seal, noisy slide operation, and loosening slide support screws - A malfunctioning Truma water heater - Screws, sealant, and woodwork left incomplete related to the frame repair job After sharing a full breakdown of our costs directly caused by the dealer's negligence and poor quality work, we were offered a partial reimbursement that covered about a third of our expenses. When we responded that they were responsible for the full cost of the damages they caused us, they stopped responding altogether. This experience has caused significant financial and emotional stress, and we still don't have a fully functional RV as we hit the road for our delayed travel plans. Based on our experience, I strongly advise you to avoid using Blue Compass RV Spartanburg for any service work. They have shown a lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability every step of the way. read more

During that process, staff made specific representations about how the transaction would be handled. After I acted in reliance on those representations, the process did not proceed as communicated. The outcome differed materially from what was represented, and clarity was not provided. Between October 19 and October 22, 2025, I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve the issue directly through follow-up calls and written communication. Those attempts went unanswered or were not substantively addressed. I attempted to resolve this privately before posting publicly. As of today, the matter remains unaddressed. I'm posting this to document my experience and to invite Blue Compass RV to respond directly and resolve the issue in good faith. Bought a new Alliance Delta 262RB in April '25, brand new unit and it caught fire the first night we used it! They have now had it for 6 months now and still haven't gotten it fixed. Blue Compass said it was waiting on Alliance for approval, so I check with them, and they said that BC didn't even mention anything about the fire, inverter, or the multiple other little things that needed to be addressed. I just made my 6th payment on it and only had it a total of 9 days! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, THEY ARE HORRIBLE! CAUGHT THEM IN SEVERAL LIES AND NOW, THEY WONT EVEN RETURN MY CALLS!!!! read more

Sales Person was Wonderful, but when I inspected the RV for delivery, The Refrigerator was running, but it was 100 degrees inside. I rejected the delivery inspection until refrigerator was replaced, but this dealership sent in my warranty start papers, my financing papers to the Bank, without me signing the pre delivery inspection. It took calls to their Corporate and the dealership for 6 days before a Refrigerator mysteriously appeared for this unit! There was no status updates about what was going on until 3 days later at 4:30 pm, when my service advisor called me for the first time to say that my refrigerator was scheduled to arrive in 16 days! If you buy a unit from here, inspect it fully before you sign ANY BANK PAPERWORK. They see no problem with what they did to me! Their Corporate has never returned my phone calls. read more

THIS IS BLUE COMPASS RV NOW. My wife and I purchased a camper from Blue Compass RV in Spartanburg in May 2024. During the financing process we were told our APR would be 8.24% but that they were working to get it to 7.99% (My credit is over 800). We got a call that they could offer us 7.24% IF we took their warranty. We went in to the location and they informed us they had good news. Our APR was 8.24% but if we took their extended warranty the bank would discount our rate to 6.99%. I've purchased enough vehicles and taken enough loans to know this is a lie. I told them I needed to think about it and went home. I immediately called the bank and spoke to their finance department. They informed me they NEVER offer discounted rates for taking an extended warranty. I then spoke to their Dealer Concierge Finance department. They also confirmed that this is not something they ever offer. What I confirmed was that 8.24% was because my loan amount would be under $75k but with the warranty it would be above 75k so 6.99 would be their rate. I was putting a substantial amount down, so the reality is, I could put less down, still hit the $75k to get the 6.99% rate and not be forced to take their warranty. Armed with facts I went back in to Blue Compass and confronted them. They dug their heels in and continued the lie saying that's not true. If I didn't take the warranty my rate would be 8.24% and if I did the bank would do 6.99%. Having already given them my "non-refundable" deposit I felt held hostage. I told them I would take the warranty and cancel immediately. They said this was fine and would only take a couple of days to cancel. I went back in on June 7 and cancelled the warranty. It has now been 2 months and it is not cancelled. I have called them several times and do not get a call back. I have called RV Complete directly and they are trying to reach the dealership and have not received a response either. I have now filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and they have yet to respond to that. My lawyer will be calling next week if I don't receive a response. Utterly ridiculous scam artists. read more

They had a week to get my brand new coach ready and when i went to pick it up it wasn't ready. frustrating. The coach I traded in used was more ready for sale than what I bought brand new. They had no DEF fluid anywhere on site and no Def in the coach. I was told I could go to a gas station and purchase some Tire pressure wasn't right by a long shot. Mud and rust from now to stern underneath the coach. The lead tech was about 20 years old very limited in knowledge. I was told my unit had features that i had to discover after purchase. the is a broken electronic part that is mask functioning and I have to remove the part and mail it in. We were happy with our purchase and the tech went over everything I can think of at the time of pickup. But make sure they actually do what they promise. After waiting an hour after our appointment to finally start the inspection, and being there another hour and a half of doing the inspection, we missed a lot. They didn't take stickers off windows, plastic off the mattress, left behind dirt and wire clippings, missing corner molding ( so they never did their complete clean like the said ) . And they had it two weeks prior to pick up. They were more interested in selling me the Good Sam program and trying to get me to buy stuff at the parts department. Second time out (800 miles from home) the frig wouldn't stay cold. Took it in, picked it up 2 weeks later and was told it was fixed. Sat all winter. First time out this year, same problem. Ended up paying $650 in deductibles. Cooling coil was bad. Replaced it and seems to be okay so far. Not happy with the deductible being paid 3 times. read more

Our review with Sonny's goes down as the nightmare before Christmas. We made reservations for a camping Christmas with our family six months prior to the holiday. Two weeks before we were to leave, we discovered something was wrong with our heater, this concerned us because all the weather reports predicted below normal temps and needed to make sure the underbelly was protected from the freezing temps. We purchased our camper trailer from another dealership two years prior but were unhappy with the rudeness of how we were treated by the service department any time we had something which needed to be fixed. My husband vowed not to ever deal with them again. We heard good things about Sonny's and called them. They said they could get us in to check out the problem right away. They discovered it was the ignitor and within a couple days we had our camper back at home. A day later, we discovered the heater was not operating and once again that afternoon took it back to Sonny's. After some head scratching and troubleshooting with the manufacturer, and the experience of a tech of an outside source, they narrowed it down that we needed a new motor and had to order the parts. This was three days before we were supposed to leave. Two days later, not having the camper packed and both my husband and me chomping at the bit for having to cancel a few days of the reservation, they called the night before we needed to leave and said it was ready for pick up the next morning. Well...at this point, we figured we were going to be handed a repair bill that would have shocked anyone or would have been taken advantage of because it was a rush job at one of the most hectic times of the year, so you can understand our nightmare. Now, let me paint the rest of this story. It does have a happy ending. The genuine sincerity by the service writer, the service manager, and the crew who worked to make our Christmas another memorable one was some of the finest, and most understanding professionals we have ever dealt with. Not only did they fix everything, but they went above and beyond with some extra services at no charge for the inconvenience we incurred. I cannot begin to applaud their efforts enough. In these times, when you think the whole concept of "customer service" is a thing of the past, it's not at Sonny's Camp-n-Travel. We were at the Greenville Camper Show yesterday and was treated very well by Sonny's staff who answered many of our questions. We were truly blessed this Christmas to be shown there are businesses out there who do not treat you as a number, but as a valued customer. TERRIBLE post-purchase, warranty service and follow up. we bought a small camper to use for a year and had a shower leak right out of the gate. they said it would take a couple hours to fix while we waited. it's now two months later, multiple phone calls and emails to them with gross lack of follow up and still no camper. our planned trips have had to be layered and canceled, to the tune of lost money. we were going to upgrade to a class a or class c next year thru them but will definitely be taking our business elsewhere read more

I gave 2 stars to my review because the service before the sale was so good. Otherwise I would have given only one. We purchased our RV from Sonny's in May of 2020. When we were shopping for our RV we chose Sonny's because we were absolutely blown away with the customer service we received there. They FAR exceeded the service we had gotten at any other dealer. We bragged to all our friends and family about how wonderful they were. Simply put, the sales team was amazing. However, the same cannot be said about their service after the sale. The service department is an absolute mess. We have taken our RV there on 2 separate occasions to have a few minor warranty issues repaired before the warranty expires. They are busy. Each time our RV has been there is has been upwards of 6 weeks. The 1st time it was there several weeks and we had a trip planned so we picked it up before all the repairs were done and took it back when they had the part and because we needed a few other minor repairs. They gave us an estimated time frame of 4 weeks before we could pick it back up. That was on February 9th. Our RV is still there. It will be 6 weeks tomorrow. I'm not upset that they are busy. I get it. We are in the middle of a pandemic and RV sales are at a record high. I can forgive busy. I can forgive that the parts take forever to come from the factory. I'm understanding of all that. What I can't excuse or be understanding of is the lack of ANY customer service. It's not even bad, there just is none. You call and leave messages and no one ever calls back or the heavens open and someone actually answers the phone and all they can tell you is that Jerry will have to call you back or that they will have to ask Jerry and then call you back. Poor Jerry. Either everyone hates him and they blame him for everything or he is really bad at his job. When someone does try to actually help you, they have no idea why your RV is even there. They were trying to give my husband answers and reading off tickets that had already been completed but telling him that they didn't have the part for it, or were waiting for this or that to happen first. We are still waiting for our couch to be repaired (a known issue before we even purchased the RV) and they have no clue what he is talking about. Today he called and they told him they were still waiting to repair the window valance, but they actually repaired that the last time it was there. They also replaced our microwave last time it was there but they told us on a previous call that they were still waiting on the new microwave to come in. I hope they haven't replaced it again. The disorganization costs them a good deal of money, I'm sure. My husband has called 15 times in the last couple weeks just trying to get an answer from someone as to when we could pick it up and they always tell him they will call him back, or they don't know, or they will tell Jerry. I really do understand being busy. I'm not even mad that it's been there so long. What really bothers me is the lack of knowledge and communication from the staff. If they communicated with us and returned calls I wouldn't be upset. We are literally begging staff to call us with answers and no one calls us back. I think the service department must just be an unorganized mess. I just want the couch fixed and my RV back. read more

We purchased our camper from Sonny's Camp-N-Travel in December 2019. The salesman, Mike and the Finance Manager where wonderful, and extremely knowledgeable. They made our purchase a smooth experience. The tornado hit our small town and there was substantial damage to the camper. We decided to have Sunny's repair our camper since we had a wonderful experience with the purchase, why not take it to them? That was very poor decision on our behalf. Many of the parts had to be ordered by the manufacturer, Grand Design, which took some time to be delivered to Sunny's (totally understandable). However, a month had past and we had not heard a word from the Service Manger, Josh for a follow up. When Josh finally called us back, everything in the camper had been replaced except for the ceiling. Grand Design delivered the wrong color ceiling. Which Josh informed us, the box wasn't opened immediately, it sat there until they got to it, a week later or so. So, now Josh has to send the ceiling back to the manufacturer in exchange for the correct color. Another month passes by, no follow up. Josh provides this excuse, "this is not our fault for the delay, the manufacturer sent the wrong ceiling". Hey Josh, if you had checked to make sure you received the correct product when delivered, there would have been less of a delay and expedited the item. Josh also repeated due to the virus there was a delay that the manufacturer has closed their production line twice. So many excuses, totally unnecessary. I asked Josh for our inconvenience if he would be able to discount the slide-out awning we were quoted from Josh. He again said this is not our fault, but I will see what I can do. When my husband picked up the camper, he noticed the quoted price for the awning had increased by almost $100.00. My husband informed him of the conversation we had about a discount. Josh said ok, I'll give you 15% off ,which ironically came to the price increase of the awning. Lastly, the outside of my brand new camper was filthy. The inside, there was dust and small partials of plastic all over the floors, especially the shower stall (were they repaired the skylight). Josh's response, they were too busy to clean the camper before we picked it up. He didn't even offer to clean it at that time, when my husband passed the comment. Poor customer service. Tried to pick up my tear drop at Sonny's dealer the other day in Duncan, South Carolina and the whole thing was inundated with water in the back from a faulty hurricane latch on the hatch. Seems to be a consistent problem I notified the dealer about before pick up and they refused to fix it. I could not pick up my tear drop and now dealer is blowing me off. They insisted I do the inspection in the rain outside even though they had bays they could have pulled it into but I guess that was to my advantage. thank goodness. People commenting on the forum said they're braxton creek knows about this, And if you're waiting for a part, it could take months so I'm moving on to a new dealer. read more

Just when I thought we had found a dealership that prided themselves on taking care of the customer. Boy were we wrong. They did all the right things getting us in the door. We knew what we wanted so that made the salespersons job easy. We waiting a little for it to come in...no problem. COVID has caused production issues in every sector of the market. Pretty savvy when doing the paperwork.....but once that trailer left the lot.....the door slammed right behind us. The door lock was broken unbeknownst to us right off the lot, with the keys inside mind you. We still haven't been able to get inside. We communicated with the dealership to get it resolved.....they put the ball right back in our court to take care of it. We've been through so many hoops that it's crazy. Call this person, call that place. Not once did I hear....relax, we'll take care of it. It's sad that companies have no clue how to take care of a customer anymore. read more
