I'm an ice cream fanatic (I typically eat 1-2 pints per week) so coming here for the first time was exciting. The staff is friendly and allows you to sample plenty of flavors. The menu is easy to read and has labels for gluten free, dairy free, and nuts. There's a lot of seating and it's just overall a fun environment. I had a flight so I got to have 4 different flavors. It's a hot day in May and after getting my nails done, I decided to pop in to Blue Cow for a treat. I saw the menu board and saw "banana pudding". I could not resist so I asked for a taste. The server was so nice and even told me that banana pudding is his favorite! It was soooo good! I highly recommend that flavor and the triple berry crunch ice cream that my friend got. Local to VA, with approximately 5 shops, they call themselves "artisan ice cream" with unique flavors. Staff will let you taste to help you decide. Team behind the counter were friendly and efficient, not extra special, but definitely better than a lot of places today. Icecream was rich and creamy, and portions were a good size. There are 5 size options - mini, single, double, waffle and a flight. As well as floats, shakes, malts AND hand packed pints to go. There are gluten free cones and a non dairy icecream option too! The store is roomy, bright and clean with multiple tables so you can eat on site. I had banana pudding and A tried snickerdoodle, both were tasty. Life-changing ice cream, truly, I will be thinking about this ice cream for a long time. Tried the Goat Cheese & Blueberry and Sea Salt Brickle samples, loved both, and got one scoop of each. I've had Blue Cow in Roanoke and so was excited to see a location when we stopped nearby for lunch! They feature both classic flavors as well as some inventive flavors, so it's nice to try a variety. the ice cream is deliciously creamy and the interior was super cute and very clean. The staff were generally nice, but the person helping us was kind of disinterested, and my scoop of cookie dough was teeny tiny lol. I would prob skip the cookie dough flavor as it didn't have a ton of chunks, and the ones that were there tasted stale. But the chocolate cow patty (?) and chocolate raspberry swirl were both delicious. read more

Solid ice cream products served in a bright clean and roomy shoppe. Located in a busy strip mall with plenty of parking available. The service is on par and pleasant (not above and beyond). The ice cream is not premium but very tasty and the prices do provide a good value. Ice cream cones, cups and sundaes are available with various toppings. There's a good amount of tables and seating which is nice especially in the summer when you may want to consume your ice cream in the air conditioning. There's a lot of different flavors which do change periodically. Pints are available if you'd like to bring some ice cream home. I like that they have a community bulletin board for people to share information. Delicious! My friend decided to come and finally check out this location after having dinner over at Toast. I'm so glad that she suggested it because I freaking love ice cream and it has a lot of flavors to choose from. The featured flavor was Strawberry Balsalmic - which was FANTASTIC. However, my heart was calling for their raspberry chocolate. I got one scoop in a cone. No regerts! I ate the whole thing - hahaha. But seriously, the staff were great and frinedly. The location is easy with plenty of parking spaces. Place is clean and flavors are kick ass. Definitely a must try spot. Blue Cow is a great addition to the Village Shopping Center. I find myself visiting there after dinner at one of the few restaurants in the strip, a nail appointment, or a trip to Publix. There are plenty of options to sample, and the staff is attentive. Parking is easy, as it's a huge lot shared with the whole center. An added bonus is that some of the flavors are even Kosher certified. I typically get any chocolate or coffee - related flavor, and they never disappoint. Scoopers were so extremely kind and helpful. As the customer, sampling flavors is such a pleasure and pain. You want to be able to try them but also there is a inner thing to not bother them too much. I tried 4 flavors and they just kept saying "of course!". It made me feel welcomed and it felt like it was an honor to serve me. Got their blue cow classic (chocolate, Oreos and butterfingers oh my) rich and delicious. It doesn't help that they have Banana Puddin ice cream, which is Nilla Wafer and Banana Pudding, but in a frozen creamy treat. I freely admit I am here ordering this Banana Puddin, more often than I should be, it's just that good. My kids love the birthday cake flavor and my husband enjoys the Blue Cow Patty. Randomly stumbled upon this ice cream place while I was in the area and realized it was a "chain" with a new location in Richmond! It was popping on a Friday night so I decided to check it out. As soon as I walked in the smell of waffle cones greeted me immediately! The variety of flavors were pretty broad with several gluten free options as well. I'm usually a peanut butter or salted caramel kind of girl but I was really craving chocolate this entire day. I got the Blue Cow Patty which was a dark chocolate ice cream base mixed with butterfingers, oreos, and dark chocolate chips. I loved the combo and the dark chocolate flavors weren't too sweet aka just right! The ice cream texture was definitely on parr with other small batch ice cream shops. The waffle cone was also pretty solid and crispy but I think I just got a bad one cause one isolated section was soggy. They do allow sampling but unfortunately don't allow split flavors. The Peanut Butter Fudge and Sea Salt Brickle were both solid just based on my quick taste test! The shop itself was spacious with lots of tables/chairs. The staff were all pretty friendly with warm smiles! It is located in the village mall so lots of parking available. Would come back to try their other flavors! read more

A new ice cream spot to try out! I got the pumpkin and it tasted pretty good plus it was a really nice sized portion for a single scoop. My husband got the coffee milkshake. He thought it was too strong flavored but good enough. I gave them 4 stars only because of the high price. It's a bit expensive.. spent $15 for the two items. Will we be back? Our family of four went here as we wanted to try a new ice cream spot. The ice cream was only okay but the scoops were a reasonable size and price. None of us really enjoyed the ice cream but there was seating to enjoy what you bought. The selection was decent but none of the flavors excited us. The ice creams we did settle on were all too salty and we never had ice cream that was too salty before. My 7 year old son got chocolate ice cream and said he didn't like it after a couple of bites which is unusual because chocolate is his go-to flavor. They are a homemade ice cream shop and I'm sure have a loyal following. We just didn't find any flavors that we liked that day. read more

Really liked their ice cream but I took my kid out tonight for dessert and had a poor experience at this location unfortunately. The customer service was very disappointing. The girl that was serving us had a very sour face and attitude for no reason. We felt rushed when the store wasn't even busy and like a burden when asking to sample new flavors. Very poor experience. Bad customer service absolutely ruins a good product especially when we were there to enjoy an occasion. I don't patronize establishments that don't put effort into their customer service and product.
