This place is delicious! My all time favorite dish is the Filet of sole. They give you two decent size pieces of fish, one is stuffed with feta and spinach (my favorite) and the other is stuffed with crab. It comes with salad, rice and your choice of potato. I highly recommend this dish. The restaurant is out dated and could definitely use some updates but the food more than makes up for it! read more

We found this place as we drove back to Boston from Niagara Falls. We shared a generous plate of broiled seafood. There was a crab leg and to our astonishment there was actual crab meat in the leg! The crab cakes were dreadful! The very wet and smelly insides were surrounded by this breaded crust on the outside. They gave you two large patties but they were so bad, I could hardly eat half of one. My wife had an Italian dish, the sauce was very basic, out of the can. It looked good but it wasn't. I sampled the dish as my dish was so bad, and was not impressed. The homemade bread was good. I understand the Greek food is good too. I don't think I will take that chance again. read more

Just recently attended a birthday party here. Overall service was great there was about 25-30 people and one server. Overall polite and the party room was very spacious. Didn't think it would be that nice, the food all around was good. One thing that was missing was party music.., the normal dining music was to mellow for a birthday party. read more

My wife and I go there quite often - it is near our house. Lately the service has really been declining. Last night we arrived and were seated at 8pm - there were 4 waitresses for the 10 booths that had people in them. We remembered the time because wen we sat down we my wife texted her sister and wanted to know if she was going to meet us. We ordered our food, both our entrees came with salads. 30 minutes went by and we got our salads. We both asked for no onions in our salads and they were onions all over the top of it. After picking these off we ate our salad. Another 20 minutes went by and the waitress was like - your food is coming. Meanwhile the booth behind us did not receive their food either it was a couple with a child in a high chair and maybe like a 5 year old boy.. The manager came over (an older dark haired Greek woman) and profusely apologized and eventually they received their food on the house. At 9:25 - and hour and 20 minutes after we ordered our food arrived. My wife ordered chicken parm and it was cold. I ordered steak with scallops, I ordered my steak medium-well. It was literally raw, I thought to myself - 80 minutes should be enough time to cook a steak to medium.......I have never sent food back but after another 10 minutes my wife went up to the cash register girl and she came over and took my plate back and they cooked it a little more. Now when I got the steak on the plate there was the steak, mushrooms on the steak and a side of rice. When it came back - it was just the steak - but hey I didn't want the rice and mushrooms anyways..... When it came back it was just microwaved a little and we all know what they do when you send steaks back - so I just put it in a box and took it home. When we paid - my wife told the girl how the rice disappeared and she was like - oh you want a side of rice to go - we are like no its 945 now - we just want to go home. We mix up our dinners between here, Buds Place and Donoli's. There is a reason Donoli's and Buds are packed and you can't get in, the food is way better, we went to Blue Dolphin because we knew it would be empty - its empty because its not good. So if you want a good dinner - do to Buds or Donolis - if you are going to wait an hour or more for food you might as well wait where the food is good. For breakfast go to the Perkins that is opening up next door in the next few weeks - But avoid the Blue Dolphin.... Oh and our bill was $41 - without tip - not that I wanted a free meal but maybe take $10 off for the raw steak I did not eat and for the rice and mushrooms that you gave me but then took away.... read more

Delicious food and large portions! I have been there many times and always have a delicious meal. I've had the London broil, chicken kebabs, stuffed fish, and seafood linguini. We have always make a point of stopping at this restaurant on trips between WNY to NYC. On the last two vists this year the quality of food and attitude of the staff was so poor that I am sorry to say we will not patronize, nor recommend this diner to others. The final breaking point was an awful delmonico, served tough as leather, with watery mushrooms and a piece of plastic string or thick hair in the lemon rice soup. When the quality of the steak was mentioned to the manager , she could not have expressed less concern. The steak was left on the plate, ....left behind along with our future patronage. I would like to thank you very much for ruining our 24th wedding anniversary. We were at your establishment at approximately 5:30pm on Oct 19, 2011. Not only was it our anniversary, it was our first (and last) visit to your establishment, and the first time I had been out since June due to having had back surgery requiring me to use a walker to get around. We were standing waiting to be seated, while the hostess cashed customers out. When she finished with them she left and walked around the restaurant for a minute or two. During this time two other couples came in. Upon her return, the hostess acted as though she never saw us. She waved another of the couples in and seated them. If they had reservations or were with a party already seated, that would be she'd needed to say, but to ignore us like we weren't there made us NOT there. I had already decided what I was going to order from the specialty board. As for doing a review for your restaurant, if you can't get seated you can't determine whether the food was worth raving about. I wouldn't give this establishment any stars but in order to post this I had too. Thank you! read more

We have been loyal customers of the Blue Dolphin for years, but we won't ever spend another dollar in there after this experience. We ordered take out (our third time in the past week) ordering food from there. The food has always been decent, and there's not much to choose from in Apalachin, so we eat there frequently. I called once to place our order, and then called back to add another item, and no one took our name or phone number. When my mom arrived 30 minutes later to get the food, they said they were out of the two dinners we had originally ordered, and that they couldn't call us back to let us know because they don't have caller ID. (Uh, seriously? It's 2017. Guess I shouldn't be surprised since I have never been able to locate a menu for their restaurant online.) So, she had to sit there an additional 30 minutes while they prepared our meal. Fine. Mistakes happen. But what was mind blowing to me was that they only took $10 off of the $50+ check. I've worked in the restaurant business for years and I would never have let the customer walk away unhappy after wasting an hour of their lives. I called myself to speak to the owner and I was definitely upset with the situation, being that it was 8:06 and our kids were still waiting to eat dinner. She was insanely rude, not once apologizing and telling me that she went "above and beyond" to fix the situation and that no other restaurant in the area would have taken a dollar off of our bill. She spoke over me the entire time, told us not to come back and hung up on me. So we won't. It's a shame because we like to support local businesses, I even had my baby shower there in June, and the waitresses are always very sweet, but any owner who would treat a loyal patron like that doesn't deserve a dime from me. read more

I recently ordered a Gyro and slice of lemon meringue pie to go. The meal was ready for pick-up at the time specified and I sat down to a hot and delicious meal. Even the french fries were still hot. The amount of food you receive is abundant and makes for nice leftovers for lunch the next day. The slice of pie was huge and delicious. I will be visiting again soon! read more

The meal it's self was "okay" but nothing to great I live near there so iv been there plenty of times and each time it worse. It's really not that bad and it seems old people like it a lot which I have nothing against but the menus are small and basic it's nothing you can't get somewhere else that taste better. The waitresses were very rude and took forever to come check on you. I waited 20 minutes for just the check. After reading all of the negative reviews I felt like I had to add my 2 cents...Because of the bad reviews, we decided to go to the casino buffet. There was a concert going on so the line was over an hour long. We headed to The Blue Dolphin instead. We were seated right away. My husband and I both ordered The Combination Platter so that we could try a bunch of different greek dishes. We both really enjoyed it and the portion was HUGE. I just finished up my leftovers for lunch. Other party members ordered wraps and fried scallops and really enjoyed them. All of the portions were huge. I don't understand why other reviewers said they had small portions, but we all had a good laugh about that when I told everyone at the table what I had read. We had the cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. Another person with us ordered the lemon meringue pie to go. The portion was big enough for 3 adults. I look forward to going back and I'd recommend anyone try it. I'm giving it 5 stars for the fact that it was amazing food for a diner. read more

my husband and I went there. for our thanks giving dinner. the service was slow. the waiteress was very rude. when I finally got my meal. after waiting for 45 minutes. the prime rib was burned to a crisp. the server didn't even say she was sorry. in fact she's lucky she got a tip. but when I told the person at the register. about the bad meal. she didn't charge me for it. all I can say. if you go there. be careful what you order. My husband and I were staying at the new Comfort Inn across the street and being cold and snowy out I decided to walk over to the Blue Dolphin for take-out rather than drive somewhere else. Wish we had. I ordered him the Mac & Cheese with a salad, which was on the evening menu board. The Mac & Cheese was a serving large enough for 3 people but my husband didn't even eat enough for one - it was overcooked, mushy, no flavor and unattractive. The lettuce in the salad looked like it had been sitting out unrefrigerated. My dinner was the Spankopita, hoping that as a Greek Diner they would do this right. Wrong. It was again over-sized (bigger is NOT better here) and greasy and burnt, and the filo dough was so tough I couldn't even cut into it with my plastic knife. The filling was very unappetizing in color and appearance and after a few bites I couldn't eat any more. My Greek salad had lettuce that looked wilted in it and the cheese on top had no flavor whatsoever, as if it had been sitting in a refrigerator for a long time absorbing all the odors from the other foods. The whole meal was under $20 but as far as I am concerned was not worth even $10. The staff was so-so, and not so friendly. Just so you know, I also took a look at the bakery items, of which they used to be famous for, and they looked like they had been sitting way too long in that case. I live here locally but probably wouldn't go back here except for maybe a cup of coffee. They also do not have a website. read more
