Today, we had the Stromboli. It was amazing! Nice portion. My husband had the traditional ham, pepperoni and mozzarella with the side of marinara. Even he mentioned the sauce was so good. Every once in a while during work travel, I'll stumble upon a unique jem like this one. I was greated in a very pleasurable manner and was taken back by the uniqueness of this place. The menu had something for anyone's pallet, my server was first rate, and I had the surf turf wrap(delicious btw). Very interesting use of a former train station, cool factor off the chart. Wentr there on a Monday and the p[arking lot was full, always a good sign. Friendly staff, menu beyond typical Italian fare. I only had the wings. Large & good. I think a bit scarce of sauce, just ask for more. I can't rate the rest of the menu, but I'll be back. Curiously the Utica style 'Chicken Riggies' is on the menu as Utica Chicken. I think the correct name might jump out more to travelers that have heard of the dish. read more

It's an hour's road trip from Binghamton, NY to Sayre, PA, for linner. One of the small pleasures of retirement, eh? We arrived mid-afternoon, and the place was about a quarter filled, maybe a bit less, but it's a slack time for dining. We were greeted and seated immediately, and shortly, our waitress came over with menus and asked for our drink order The drinks arrived quickly, and Stephanie gave us time for a leisurely perusal of the wide variety of items available. There's likely something for your appetite here, folks. Nice variety of choices. I settled on their Caribbean chicken with rice pilaf, house salad with Bleu, and a baked potato on the side. A wide choice of sides are offered, including many interesting veggies, pasta, and others. My iced tea was replenished without asking, and paired well with my lunch. Meg enjoyed her prime rib sandwich and tater tots. She, like myself, found her meal to be delicious, cooked to her liking, and her house special Blackberry Sangria was perfect. The Train Station is, indeed, a retired train station. We seek them out, and appreciate when the old places get new lives as eateries. It's truly beautiful outside and in, but I enjoy seeing more of the original interiors being left in place than is here. Still, what they've done with it is very nice, and I think you'll love it. They didn't charge extra for using plastic, and they quite handily print out what the totals would be including popular tip amounts. That's a nice feature, and there's no pressure on you to tip like there is in places that use electronic tabs. I recommend for locals who might not have stopped in, and diners within striking distance of Sayre to put this Train Station on your must try list. read more

It's been a few years since I last reviewed The Grille so here's an update. First, we've been dining here 8 to 10 times a year for the last decade so this is based on a conservative 60 visits at least. Every time I visited it's been either very enjoyable or downright outstanding. Never had a bad experience. The building and ambiance is early 1900 industrial chic. Every 5th course of brick is on end to add strength to the wall and it's just cool, I can stare at it for hours. But people don't come for the walls (except for me), the food is top notch. I would call this place precision dining as sterile as that sounds but I've never seen a restaurant run so well. The service, staff and food is precise, excellent and always consistently delicious. Whether it's a burger, pizza, salad, Italian dish, appetizer or drink. The past 4 or 5 visits, we've been served by Mercedes who is the most cheerful delightful person ever. This is just a pure excellent establishment at a reasonable price and always a fun experience. They also have a model train than runs around the pizza ovens which is a nice touch. I'd give 6 stars if I could! read more

Very disappointed in the service here, we used to love coming here and had some great meals in the past but the service has fallen off. no bread or side salad brought to the table until our entrees arrived and we had to ask the server. orders have come back to the table wrong multiple times and no one will do anything to rectify the mistake. unacceptable when the place is nearly empty on a Monday night. Well, it happened. We became "the regulars" at the Grille. My husband and I dine there once a week. Food is seriously great. The menu is large, easily offering something for everybody. Portions are quite generous, that's why I end up getting an appetizer for my main course (usually Panko & Parmesan Crusted Scallops). Their creamy garlic dressing is to die for. Serenne (one of the waitresses) is terrific, attentive without being overwhelming, always getting our order right (nota bene: we tend to customize our drinks and food, and not everybody is good with remembering all the details). Next time we make a reservation (the restaurant can get busy all of a sudden, calling ahead to get a booth is always a good idea) we will ask to be seated in her section. Back to the creamy garlic dressing, you folks should seriously consider selling it (glass jar, fancy label, list of ingredients), it's THAT good. read more

Great places for a burger and probably other things too. None of the staff wore masks. Customers coming in was half and half. The place is fairly large so you're really not sitting on top of others. We had the Frickle burger (look it up on their menu!) and the Black & Blue burger. Each was a1/2 pound of nice and juicy meat cooked as we requested it; one with fries, the other with in-house made potato chips. The B&B had onion rings on it in place of regular onions. With a beer and a soda before tip the bill came to around $40. We each took 1/2 our burgers / sides home with us because they were pretty big. read more

The manager came over and gave some lame excuse that there's a new cook learning to cook pasta. I didn't know boiling noodles was an art. But the food was bland, it had no flavor and the chicken was dry and tough and not seasoned. The pasta water is not seasoned either. The chicken is already dead, there's no need to kill it again. She had the Creamy Chicken Jambalaya (on rice) and I had the Grilled Cajun Haddock. The haddock was good but we both thought the Jambalaya was the best we've had! We love The Grille! We just moved into the area and have already dined here 4 times. The staff are friendly and accommodating. There are many different places to sit making it feel like a new experience each time. The menu is expansive and definitely has something for everyone. We were surprised to learn that they make all of their dressings! The honey lime was so delicious! I wish they bottled it and sold it. Staying nearby here in Sayre, I spotted this on my map and we decided to give it a try. What a great surprise! The owner Joe was working the greeting stand and accommodated our wish for a table instead of a booth (which was a little tricky given how busy it was at the time). Our server Joy was delightful and attentive throughout. My wife chose the fish sandwich (haddock) with tots, while I had the Caribbean Grille Chicken over rice, also with tots. I also got a side salad with my entree and chose their house-made creamy garlic dressing. Between these entrees and their yummy homemade bread, we had more than enough food, and everything was perfectly prepared, promptly served, and delicious. My wife and I are in the Sayre area for a wedding and we were looking for local fare. I found this place on yelp and checked it out. We were pleased with the food and service. We started with the crab dip and it was delicious. I ordered the Frickle Burger and a side of tots. I couldn't finish it all. It was very filling and tasted great. The best part was desert. Used to always be a good place to hang out, but lately this place has gotten too liberal to stand..... went to get dinner, at 445 had pizza, wings and a few drinks at the bar. I had 3 cocktails, the significant other had 4 beers in 2 hours. We asked for another round, and was asked by the bartender "weren't you leaving" a little confused my other said "do you want us to?" Bartender then told us that we needed to "slow down". We then cashed out and were told it was policy.. policy to not have fun? Policy to not have a few drinks? Policy to not let loose the one night you have with your other? Extremely disappointed by this. Another place ruined. Don't leave negative reviews, but this is HIGHLY ridiculous.
