At the end of last summer (2025) I ran into a structural problem with my bike, that I brought off of Amazon, luckily for me the warranty gave me a new frame, however I had to find a place who could replace the frame. So, I reached out to Cranked Bike Studio, and they replaced the frame. However, due to the delay in getting the part from China by the time I got the bike back it was just too cold to ride it, so I stored the bike away until this past April when we had good days to ride the bike. I only got to ride the bike for one week and 67 miles, before the pedal assist went out, and the brakes would make a loud noise at 20 miles per hour or faster. I brought the bike back into Cranked Bike Studio. Explained to them they had done the frame swap/ rebuild and this is my first week riding the bike since then, told them the pedals assist isn't working, and the brakes are noisy at high speeds. So they said they will check it out and it would be a bit more than a week. Nearly three weeks later they reached out to let me know the bike is ready. They explained the PSA assist stop working because the pedals were loose, this really was the true cause of the issue. I asked about the breaks. He told me that they didn't know I had reported an issue with the breaks, and said sometimes they are not great at their in-take process. So I asked could they check out the breaks before I come to pick up the bike. He had then started to tell me that breaks are just noisy, clearly conveying they didn't want to work on the bike any further. In my head all I can think is this is a safety issue. I can't ride this bike until I know these brakes are safe. I am going to have to take it to another shop. So then I asked about what the charge is for fixing the bike. He explained because they only needed to tighten the bike pedals, they were going to charge me the $125 inspection fee and no labor cost, giving me a deal on the repair. So I am thinking about this, I am getting charged for a $125 inspection fee, but you're unwilling to inspect my breaks to see if my bike is safe to ride. Maybe this same thought clicked in his mind because he then said, we will check out the noisy breaks, as they are pretty easy to quiet. So are the breaks on my bike safe or did they just quiet them? So the next day I arrived. They assured me the pedals are nice and tight, how they should last a good while, as I assumed they would have done when they rebuilt the bike, and they explained it was the vibration of the bike that loosen the pedals. They explained how they cleaned up the breaks and they were nice and quiet now. So I decided to explained to them for the second time how had paid over $400 for a frame swap/ rebuild, they were the ones that rebuilt the bike, last ones that tightened up the pedals, and the last ones to reassembled my breaks. So I had clearly pointed out after riding the bike for one week and for only 67 miles it hard to believe that it was the vibration that loosen the pedals. With this new information the employee then decided to cut me an even better deal instead of charging me $125 for the bike inspection fee they charge me $56 for fixing the breaks and to have the pedals tightened. Reflecting back to the phone conversation the day before. Are the breaks fixed or just quieted? Is my bike safe to ride? Did this small bike studio open themselves up to a potential personal injury lawsuit? So to recap, I left Cranked Bike Studio paying them for the Improper job they did rebuilding my bike. Had my Intelligence insulted by being told the pedals became lose from vibration, and that noisy breaks are simply not worth inspecting. All of this has communicated to me, and hopefully to you as a reader. Profit is more if a priority than the safety of the customer. Would you ride my bike?

We went in several times before we chose bikes and everyone was so nice and helpful. I have back and neck issues and told them what I needed in a bike and they chose the perfect bike for me. It's so nice that I can stop in there at any time with any questions and they are always so helpful. They are also conveniently located off the Fox River Trail. I am not athletic and I don't distance bike but they treat everyone the same- everyone is treated well and their needs are listened to. You feel valued here.

They were pretty busy for a Saturday morning, so I had to wait a few minutes to be helped, although I was acknowledged right away and the sales associate said she'd help me in a minute. I came in with an idea of what shoes I wanted, and told her so. She took a look at the shoes I currently had and explained they were a different type than what I was looking for, at which point I explained those weren't working for me so I wanted to try something. As the store was busy, two of the sales associates 'tag teamed' working with me, which I didn't mind because both were friendly and I didn't have to keep repeating what I was looking for. They both listened as I explained what worked (and didn't) with my current shoes and what I was looking for in new shoes (I'm coming off a tibial stress fracture, so I need cushioning). I ended up getting the BRAND NEW Brooks Levitate, which they told me was first being offered that day (whoop whoop!). They were also understanding when I explained I was from Chicago and, if there was an issue with the shoes, I likely wouldn't be able to bring them back within the period for returns. They were nice enough to put a note in the system to extend that period until I was up next, as long as the shoes were still in good condition. Overall, they were incredibly helpful and offered good advice in picking out a shoe. I never felt rushed (even though they were busy) or pressured to pick the higher end shoe (I came to that conclusion on my own). Even though I don't live in the area, I'd definitely go back there if I had the chance.

This store is great if you're a new or experienced runner....or like me not a runner.  The sales are friendly, knowledgeable and even saw them handle multiple customers with no problem. The have all kinds of running accessories like socks, shirts, shorts, water bottles....whatever you need they have it. As I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a sales associate.  I told him what I needed, he then had me walk a little bit and stand on something that showed the curve in my foot so he could find the perfect shoe for me.   He brought out several options for me to try, and told me what I should be expecting in a good shoe.  That helped a lot when making my decision. I was there for about 15 minutes and I walked away with a new pair of shoes.  Now I did pay more than I usually would for shoes, but I know I got a good quality of shoes. I have young boys (2 under 3years) they will never sit in a posed position for more than 5 seconds and yet I always have beautiful pictures to choose from. My golfing buddies found this place and we rented a simulator for a couple of hours. It's a small…read morespace that has three simulator screens. They also have this machine that helps you with having the perfect golf swing. There a lot of options with the simulator. We started off with the driving range to warm up a little bit, and then we did a 2 person team scramble (so we can get through as many holes as possible). What's cool is there are tons of actual golf courses that you can choose from. We ended up selecting this popular course that's in Scotland. You can bring your own clubs, which is good so you're more comfortable with your play. The big hump to get over was hitting the floor with your club. On regular golf course, you hit the ground you make a divot from the grass. It's a little harder when you hit the floor here, but when wasn't that bad. Once you got in a rhythm, it wasn't that bad if you accidentally hit the floor. Another difference from real play is once you get the ball on the green, you're done with the hole. You don't need to put. As someone who is terrible at putting, I was excited by that. The reason is the ball needs to hit the screen in order to register the hit, and that impossible to do with putting. You can bring your own food and drink here. They do sell sodas, water and a couple of other drinks for $1-2, and Jack's Pizza for $10 which is a rip off...but whatever. If you're an avid golfer, this is a great place to go during the winter as you can go whenever you can, or you can join one of their Monday/Wednesday leagues.
