It's non stop small issues and it seems management is non existent. Lots of miscommunication and the scheduling is terrible. Why is it one class has 6 kids but there are 3 other instructors with 1 kid? Feels like the franchise is not run smoothly. The place had a fire back in December and I had unused weeks. It took 3 different calls to get a refund when they kept trying to push for a makeup class. Makeup classes aren't easy to do as they are not open all the time and some classes are already full. Management is absentee and it's not good on the parents.

We finally had her tracheostomy closed this February, and in March, I signed her up for swim lessons at Waterwings. My daughter has always loved playing in the water but was terrified to put her head in. Ms. Evelyn made every class fun, safe, and full of encouragement. She took her time to help Jade feel comfortable and slowly built such a trusting relationship with her. Thanks to Ms. Evelyn's patience and creative teaching, Jade has become so confident in the water! She absolutely loves her swim lessons and even wishes she could go every day. Now, Jade takes private lessons three times a week with Ms. Evelyn, and her swimming skills have improved so much -- it's amazing to see how far she's come! I truly can't thank Ms. Evelyn enough for everything she's done for Jade. We're so grateful for Waterwings and all the wonderful coaches there. We came here for the water tots class (ages 3-5) and we are very impressed with the instructors…read morehere. They make the class fun with singing, games, and toys so that students get used to the environment and feel comfortable with each other. But it doesn't stop there; they also incorporate one to two skills per class, and my daughter has a lot of fun (which to us was the most important part). The swim classes run for 30 minutes each session, and that is a good amount of time for a 3-year-old's attention span. Prices are also pretty fair; $65 for 2 weeks (for residents), and they run Monday through Friday for a group class. The class had 7 kids with 2 swim instructors, and I was glad to see them co-teach. Parents and family members can sit on the shaded area and watch their kids learn how to swim. They also have multiple life guards watching the area so we feel pretty safe with the kids in the pool. I also see other higher level classes going on as well as the private one-on-one swim lessons. I only wish I knew about the registration times earlier on so I can sign up for multiple sessions in the summer. Registrations begin as early as May and I didn't sign up until July. Now I know for next year! Definitely coming back again.

She has a positive but firm demeanor. She is EXTREMELY patient and kind. My daughter went from lookin like a drowning starfish to a strong, controlled swimmer. Granted she still has a way to go but considering shes only had a few lessons I am just extremely impressed with how much she's improved and I feel that's a direct statement on how Vayda teaches. If you were on the fence about trying waterworks I can definitely say that Coach Vayda made this a worthwhile endeavor and if shes still with waterworks next year I may opt to re enroll my daughter for more lessons.
