Great food and an amazing view! The bartender was incredibly friendly, but she seemed overwhelmed due to technical issues and what appeared to be a lack of support from management. They really need two bartenders or at least a bar back during busy times. The crab legs were seasoned perfectly and absolutely delicious. The seared tuna was amazing, but it definitely needed at least twice as much sauce. The crab beignets were exactly what I expected. My husband wanted to try them, but to me they were basically a hush puppy with crab, which is exactly what I don't like about some crab cakes--they have too much bread and not enough crab. If there had been better support behind the bar, we definitely would have ordered more food and drinks. I think the restaurant is missing out on additional sales by not properly staffing such a beautiful location. Overall, we'd definitely come back for the beautiful view, the drinks, and those amazing crab legs. I just hope management gives the staff the support they need to provide the level of service they're clearly capable of. read more

Ordered a whiskey smash and it was perfectly clear. No whiskey at all. Just tasted like lemon and mint. For how pricey the place is, the menus were unreadable. They could afford to print readable menus. We have some spice sensitive people in our group we ordered grilled salmon and it would up being spicy crusted. Not what was expected. The Ahi Tuna was done as expected, but flavorless and bland...had the Potential of being great. Promised Chowder before entree found its way to me after entree was presented. Side salad was provided with entree. Furniture was dreadful. I ask to sit along river but all the wood planked tables were high tops with hard metal chair seats only large enough for children's butt comfort. I really want to love this place! It's close by and has a great location! The interior is awesome with great bar space! We've been here a few times and it's been nothing short of so-so! We've had the chowder which is very good. The oysters are ok!! We had the fried green tomatoes which were ok! The gumbo had great flavor but was served luke warm ! I've had the shrimp and lobster linguine which was good! I recently had the blackened mahi tacos which were not great! They were not very 'blackened' and the flour tortillas seemed like they were right out of the plastic packaging! The sweet potato fries were the star of the dinner! The spicy margaritas were excellent! Service both times were ok! The food quality needs to get better for us to make this a regular spot to eat! Beautiful place with a friendly nice atmosphere. The menu looked amazing but we were just there for drinks while we had to time before a wedding. I had rum punch and it was huge fancy and delicious. My husband got a margarita and loved it. They have a great happy hour and half priced drinks. I don't understand the 3.4 stars. Before dining here I was the lady becoming her parents in the insurance commercial, I talked to three locals and asked pointed blank, would you recommend Blue Drum or ---- (probably as good but I don't want to say anything bad, I haven't tried-----). All three said Blue Drum. They were right! We had an amazing dinner and live music. We started with the Bacon Hangers. More meat than two people should consume, lol. So good the sauce was smoky and sweet. Then my husband had Salmon with rice and asparagus. I had the Grouper Oscar sub the Grits, instead of rice, and asparagus. They were both delicious! But after the bacon we agreed the Grouper and Grits were a match made in heaven. The rice was too sweet, the buttery grits were the perfect match. I was overcharged, and when I went back to have it corrected, the server and manager told me it was my responsibility to resolve their billing mistake with other members of my group. That wasn't possible, since the other party had already paid and left. Instead of fixing the issue, they passed the problem back to me and said there was nothing more they could do. A beautiful setting along the intercoastal waterway. We stopped in for lunch and sat outside to enjoy the gorgeous day and mild temperatures. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Our server was very nice and attentive although I thought it unusual that the servers are not given an "area" but rather tables so the table around us all had different servers which meant you couldn't easily ask a question for the server. Immediately after placing our order we asked the server to add the hanging bacon appetizer and she said it was maybe "too late." How can it ever be "too late" to order? While we did sit at outside bar, and not a table (more on that later) the service was good, attentive and pleasant. The food was hot and good. We had shrimp, mahi, crab beignets, tuna nachos and Mile High cake. All great! We were happy that the lone hostess greeted us with a smile and asked how we were doing first! Then she asked if we had a reservation. Lol its fine. We tried to make a reservation around 7 but the website said there were no reservations available. We decided to try anyway. We arrived around 715 to a mostly empty parking lot. We figured we would sit at the bar anyway. We have been going here for years and was one of our favorite places. We called and made a reservation for last night and was told it was in the enclosed room with a beautiful view. When we got there they took us all through the enclosed rooms, across a covered deck, down a flight of stair to a high top table with little metal stools with a seat about 1ft x 1 ft square (if that big). I have back and knee issues, and with the heat. We ask server about reservation and they told us that is the only place they could seat us. Reminded her again about reservation with no success. I ordered the salmon blt. The bacon was not fully cooked and I would have preferred it to be crispy. The salmon tasted fishy to me and I should have ordered a local fish but I love salmon. The Cajun tartar sauce was really good. I ordered the pineapple slaw and this rocked. The pineapple was such a great twist to this side. We also ordered the crab dip with pita and this was just ok but didn't wow me as I hoped. For the price of the food I wanted to be WOWED and live it. Another person in my party ordered the mahi sandwich but it was raw so he sent his back and it took a long time to bring back and they forgot the sweet potato fry's.
