Great spot for lunch on the waterway at 357 Coastal Raw Bar! The views and food definitely create an elevated bar experience that comes at a higher price. Would absolutely recommend checking them out during happy hour for better pricing! Both of our meals were delicious : * Whipped Feta Grilled Chicken Flatbread with caramelized red onions, Granny Smith apple slices, pistachios, arugula, and a spicy honey drizzle * 357 Smash Burger - two chuck brisket short rib patties, cheddar cheese, bacon, tomato, lemon aioli, and lettuce * Hugo Spritz and Classic Mojito

1st off...I'm from Boston. I asked about the Lobster Roll b4 ordering, yet I still got it. Mistake! Dry. If I was to bet ya, it's from a can. Wife sent hers back and got a chicken dish which was very light, and delicious. My server tonight was Grace. She put up with me while I was drinking Buffalo Trace. Grace was awesome and accommodating. The shrimp cocktail was a "bit" stinky. Maybe not the freshest, but Alright. The crab soup did have pieces of crab and nice sherry base. Dessert was the baked apple crisp w/ice cream. Sooooo much yummier than the lobster. You decide. (I don't wanna hear about it if you are NOT from New England ."

We all agreed the food was delicious and it's on the waterway. We started with raw oyster. They were served with ketchup horseradish and a vinegar dressing that was very tasty. I had the warm lobster sandwich and it was packed with lobster meat on a warm toasted brioche bun. My mom had the steak flatbread. It was covered in meat, onions, peppers and cheese. My sister had a tuna poke bowl. There was a variety of vegetables and rice. All the tables are high tops with plastic chairs. So my elderly mom was not thrilled about that. You have to walk down the dock and up a couple of stairs and then down a couple to get to the outside seating. There is a nice awning so it wasn't sweltering. The service was great and the staff were very pleasant.

The fries were awful! Soggy, limp noodles! Worst fries I've ever had! Otherwise, the other food was average.

Ambience, service and food get an A+ rating. I understand they are going to expand the outdoor patio, beautiful venue on the Waterway.

My wife and I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for years, and every time we drive past JEM I always…read moresay, "We have to try that place sometime." The parking lot is usually full, which always felt like a good sign. Well... after years of saying "maybe next time," we finally stopped in -- and we're glad we did. We were in town for a few days doing some work at our place and decided to try something new for dinner. I checked Yelp beforehand to see if they had a happy hour menu, and they did -- and it looked good. We arrived around 5:00 pm. There were only a few cars in the lot at that time, and the building (which used to be a Pizza Hut) is easy to spot. When we walked in, we were told to sit wherever we liked, so we headed straight to the bar. The bartender greeted us right away, gave us menus and waters, and made us feel welcome. Since it was our first visit, we had a lot of questions about the menu. The food seemed like a fusion of Asian and Korean flavors, and we weren't very familiar with it. She was fantastic patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful. She even mentioned their Date Night special, which turned out to be a great deal. She made my wife an iced tea that was different than the usual but very good, and I had an Old Fashioned that was excellent. We decided on the Date Night Special, which is a prix fixe menu for two for $45. It includes one starter to share, a selection of small plates, each person choosing their own main from a list of six (two with a small upcharge), and a dessert to share. For our starter, we chose the Scallion Pancakes. They aren't really pancakes in the traditional sense -- more like a thinner batter that's deep-fried and served with two sauces. Both sauces were excellent, and the appetizer was a great way to start the meal. For our mains, my wife ordered the Bibimbap with chicken, and I had the Korean Fried Chicken (+$3). When they set the plates down in front of us, I looked at my wife and said, this looks really good -- why haven't we stopped here before? Her dish came in a shallow bowl with cucumbers in a sauce, thinly shaved carrots, kimchi, rice topped with an egg, and a piece of fried chicken with sauce. Mine came with coleslaw, fresh-cut French fries, and two chicken breasts covered in the same flavorful sauce. The chicken on both dishes was the same, and that sauce was outstanding. My first bite was literally, "Why have we passed this place so many times?" My wife loved everything on her plate, and I enjoyed every bite of mine as well. Our dessert, the Apple Crumble, came out before we were completely finished with our meals. This was really the only thing that could have been handled a little differently. Even though we didn't eat it right away, it was still good we just felt a bit rushed trying to finish our food so the dessert wouldn't get cold and the ice cream wouldn't melt. Overall, we found a new top-5 restaurant to eat at when we're in town. To top it all off, while sitting at the bar we were talking with a waiter named Logan. He asked where we were from and mentioned he had family there. It turned out he's a cousin of a friend who grew up with our son and was actually in our son's wedding. Just a few weeks earlier, they were all in Myrtle Beach for a bachelor party for his cousin. Small world! Don't be like us driving past for years and saying "maybe next time." Just stop in and give it a try. The food is wonderful, the service was great, and we will definitely be back.

I've been to Bar 19 twelve for drinks before and have always been impressed by its modern decor,…read morelighted bar and excellent drink selection handled by professional bartenders. Since it was my father's last night in North Myrtle Beach until September I thought it would be a great place to have our last dinner together for a while. I dialed up my app and made a 7PM reservation for three. We pulled in about 6:50 and found a spot right in front of the restaurant...it was going to be a good night. We got inside and chose to sit indoors near the bar. My father likes to see people and I felt this would be a good spot to do this and it was. The restaurant was mid century modern in design, airy and uncluttered...we were seated in a booth - chair combo that was a rendition of that style. We looked at the drink menu and my father went for a glass of Pinot Noir, his friend went for a lemon drop martini and I went for a Heineken 00. The waitress couldn't be nicer and quickly brought us our drinks. The lemon drop was perfect and served in an ice cold steel martini glass while my father was quite happy with his California Pinot. We reviewed the food menu and decided to share two "tables"...the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese dip with home made pork rinds. Within a few minutes, four deviled eggs arrived dressed up with a slice of jalapeño and sprinkled with bacon bits. A large plate of fresh pork rinds with homemade pimento cheese came out simultaneously. The deviled eggs were excellent with just the right texture and not too moist...the bacon bits added another layer of flavor and the jalapeño gave it a nice kick, however, the pork rinds and pimento cheese stole the show. The rinds were light and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch and the pimento cheese was superb...very flavorful with nice chunks of pimento and grated cheese. My father was diving in on the cheese so fast it was tough to get some. His lady friend also commented on how good it was. Next came the mains. My father settled in the American Waygu Burger with hand cut fries, I went for the lamb rack with string beans and roasted fingerling potatoes and the lady went for the Arugula salad with candied pecans, Granny Smith apples , goat cheese and craisins. My lamb was excellent...medium rare with a nice flavorful crust with a hint of garlic and herbs. The potatoes were well roasted and tasty while the string beans were cooked correctly but a tad bland. The arugula salad was delicious with a nice citrus dressing that played well with the candied pecans and craisins...the smith apples was a nice contrast. My father in the other hand, ate way too much pimento cheese and rinds and as a result just picked in his fries, which were excellent...salted well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. He ended up taking the burger home. Amazingly, when dessert was brought up he was all in. Although known for their "Butter Cake" we decided to share(and by share I mean my father had about 90% of it) the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake. Turns out it's as good as it sounds...intense chocolate flavor in a very moist cake with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream on the side...top notch. Sadly, it was getting late and my father had an early plane to catch so we got the bill(more reasonable than I expected), tipped the excellent waitress and said our good nights. We made plans to come back in September...although I'll be back well before that...Bar 19 Twelve will be going on my rotation.

Tried this on our last trip and it was great! Fun place, great food. Definitely recommend!read more
