We have been going here for years and was one of our favorite places. We called and made a reservation for last night and was told it was in the enclosed room with a beautiful view. When we got there they took us all through the enclosed rooms, across a covered deck, down a flight of stair to a high top table with little metal stools with a seat about 1ft x 1 ft square (if that big). I have back and knee issues, and with the heat. We ask server about reservation and they told us that is the only place they could seat us. Reminded her again about reservation with no success. We sat outside at the dockside tables. I loved the string lights along the deck,, especially as the sun was setting. The ambience was just perfect. The service was OK but it took a while to get any special needs met in our group of five. The crab dip was not anything I would order again but the blackened mahi tacos were delicious, as was the peach Bellini cocktail. read more

Horrible Experience, Will Never Return I've been a regular at the Blue Drum in Little River since I moved here last October, but after today, I will never be back. I was overcharged during happy hour, and the Manager refused to fix it. My bill should have been about $18.00. Here's what happened: I came in with Caffeine Free Diet Coke for health reasons and asked for Vodka and to use my own Diet Coke. Taylor asked me if I wanted ice, I replied yes. The bartender, who was new, rang it up as "on the rocks," even though I never asked for it that way. The result? An extra $14 charge for something I didn't request. I didn't do anything different from any other Thursday night that I went to Blue Drum. When I tried to explain, the Manager Tina didn't care and refused to make things right. On top of that, I was charged for a house rum that I never ordered and the normal price not happy hour price for 3 of my drinks. I mentioned to my friend that I wasn't leaving a tip after the mix-up, and the other bartender still had my credit card. I never said I wasn't paying--just that I wouldn't be tipping due to being overcharged so much. Then, the manager threatened to call the cops on me. I've never been so disrespected. I've always paid my bills and have a stellar credit rating. This whole experience was just awful, and I'm beyond disappointed. I provided Maria with my credit card prior to receiving my bill, and upon receiving my first receipt, I noticed the charges. I had already paid for the services rendered. I never stated that I was not paying. I am not that person. I was conversing with a friend when you inadvertently overheard our conversation. I mentioned that I would not leave a tip due to being overcharged. The photographs of the receipts provide evidence of this. The first receipt clearly indicates that I paid by Visa. Subsequently, I questioned the charges. Maria removed one of the $7.00 rocks charges, which I should not have been charged, and offered me a $2.00 discount. Included pictures below of both receipts and perhaps you should check your cameras to see that I paid before I questioned my bill. The first receipt also shows four house vodkas priced at $20.00. You suggested that I had arrived well before Happy Hour, which is not accurate. I had one drink before Happy Hour, and that drink should have cost $5.00. The remaining three drinks should have cost $4.00. I definitely only had 1 drink before Happy Hour started and was still drinking it when Happy Hour started. The Happy Hour Rum priced at $4.00 was not mine; it was charged to me in error. Additionally, my friend was overcharged as well. She was charged for a non-Happy Hour drink and did not have a drink until approximately 5:00 PM. She was also charged for the rocks. Her bill was rectified by the bartender. A competent manager/ owner would actively listen to customers and endeavor to rectify any issues. Unfortunately, you have lost two customers, and the potential number may increase if I further disclose the treatment I received from you to my acquaintances. I am perplexed by your assertion that I was not paying, as I had already settled the bill in full. I want to express my strong objection to your persistent assertion that I attempted to leave without paying my bill. I have concrete evidence to refute this claim, and I urge you to cease posting such false information. As a former employee of Verizon's Collections department, I have consistently upheld the importance of paying my bills on time and in full. I am deeply offended by the defamation of character you are attempting to inflict upon me by making such baseless accusations. My wife and I are on vacation and have been looking for good seafood restaurants each night. So in searching I came across Blue Drum. We were seated at the water's edge outside and had a great view as the sun set on the horizon. Loved the atmosphere there. The night started with our server River. He did an outstanding job waiting on us tonight and seemed to be just as engaged with the other tables I saw him with as well. We order the green tomatoes to start and they were great. Had bacon crumbles, crumbled goat cheese and balsamic glaze on them.. They were very accommodating as my wife wanted the tuna steak, but it was listed as pan seared with a cold middle. She asked if they could cook it warm and it got done to perfection when it came out! I had the trio tacos with blackened shrimp in them and they were awesome! To finish off things, we had a yelp coupon for a free desert which we used. The seasonal desert was a Pumpkin cheesecake and it was amazing! The ambience was wonderful and loved the view of the inlet. Our waitress, Grace, was very good. However, the oyster sandwich had no sauce on it which made it very dry and the oysters were not seasoned well. We also had the tacos and again there was only mahi mahi, lettuce and tomato on the taco shell. It was missing queso fresco and chipotle aioli. Again very dry and tasteless. Last of all we had the crab sandwich and bit into a piece of tin foil. Wonderful menu but definitely must have caught the chef on an off day. We asked opinions on the menu to our server and they did not explain anything. Things we ordered were also not available and the server did not mention it until the order had already arrived. We are moving to Myrtle Beach and this was my very first experience of being at a restaurant here and it was so bad!!! First, let me say my wife and I have been to Blue Drum numerous times in the last year, for dinner but mainly Bunch. This past Easter Sunday, I had made reservations for 5 for Brunch at 1:00 PM. So she said okay I'll take the French Toast and she said sorry Brunch was over. It is now 1:25 PM and I Said Brunch goes to 2 PM and she said yes, but sorry and we could leave. (Where on 1:30 PM could we get Easter Brunch) We all looked at each other and we decided to stay, but I asked to see the Manager to log my complaint. We order and my wife's chicken sandwich was way over cooked with no other complaints from myself and our other 3 guests. NOW, we pay the bill and finally the manager came over a hr later and said someone wanted to see the Manager. I spoke up and explained we came here for Brunch and were told that Brunch ended at 1:15 PM cause they ran out of eggs. I laughed and she said that they had over 100 reservations and they were overwhelmed. I told her we'll then that was poor management not to plan if you knew you had 100 reservations. Obviously, even if it was true, she became indigent and finally said "sorry". I was upset, gave the waitress my name and phone number and asked for the owner to call. Three days later, no call. Maybe if you have a reservation your experience will be better, but without a reservation ours was very unorganized and unpleasant. We were sat under a porch with poor lighting, a table too small for our party, and seats that were falling apart and uncomfortable. After waiting 90 minutes l, we left and got food somewhere else. Blue Drum has a terrific setting right on the ICW. We were seated on the lower outdoor deck right on the water. They also have an outside seating area that is covered and a cool inside seating area dominated by a huge bar. Our server, Emily, was fantastic. Very personable and helpful with menu choices. Wife started with a cup of she crab soup and l a cup of gumbo. Both were delicious and very hot. As main courses,I had the salmon BLT and the Mrs had the calamari app. Ok, my one snit it seemed like a long time between bringing us stuff, including long waits between iced tea refills. I e were having a good time so ordinarily I don't worry. The prime concern is is the food hot. My Mac and cheese and salmon blt was but the wife's calamari was not. An elevator would have been preferred. We had soup and entrees. The soups were excellent. Had to take leftovers of our entrees home. We went to this restaurant on June 20th, 2026. Our order was placed and my wife's Chicken Caesar salad and my grilled Chicken sandwich came out within five minutes of our order. Fast right! It appears the chicken was already precooked and when we started to eat it was very tough. The waitress was nice and asked if we wanted to get something else which was rejected. They should have been able to tell the chicken was tough before they served. The crabcake sandwich that was ordered by another member was small maybe 2 to 3 ounces. ($25) The Kingsport Taco and sweet potato fries was nearly $30 before taxes. The only positive was the view, music and the three beer we had. I took the balance of the sandwich home and fed it to our pets. Upon looking at the container that the food was brought home in, it was not even recyclable. We ordered drinks and after a few minutes ordered some happy hour fried pickles. These were ordered before 6:00pm, which was the end of happy hour. She finally came back and took me to the table, but never slowed down or stopped for me to get my wife...Now for the reason this review is a 4 and not a 1. Our server, Zach showed up very quickly and took our drink orders and discussed the menu. He was very knowledgeable and helped us make our decisions. We chose the fried green tomatoes for our appetizer and they were very good. I got the clam chowder, fried flounder, fried shrimp, and mashed potatoes. Missing half of my dinner! On Tuesday evenings they have a crab leg special. I asked our server what the meal consisted of. I was told: Crab Legs Red potatoes Corn on the cob Hushpuppies. My meal arrives via the food runner. There was no corn on the cob or hush puppies. And no explanation. When the server came back, I asked about the missing items and was told they had run out of corn on the cob. He wasn't sure why I didn't have my hush puppies. OK, so if you run out of something, why don't you communicate that or why don't you offer a substitute? He did tell me he would go get me some hush puppies and wasn't sure why I didn't have them. When he brought the hush puppies, I asked if I could have another vegetable since the corn was not available and he offered me some green beans. Of course this was only after I asked. Regarding the corn on the cob that I was told they were out of, apparently some must have mysteriously appeared because the table next to us had corn on the cob when their plates came out about 30 minutes later. I guess they thought I wouldn't notice that things are missing from my plate. Probably 95% of the people in the restaurant that night we're getting the crab leg special so the runner definitely knew that I was missing the corn and the hush puppies. She didn't say anything or offer me anything different. And then, when I mentioned it to our actual server, he was also well aware that the corn was an issue.
