We are very happy with the work Blue Haven in Freeport, FL has done. We have built 3 custom pools, at 3 different houses, prior to working with Blue Haven and Blue Haven was the easiest to work with. We are very happy with the quality of work they provided. Deveid, our tile/travertine guy took his time and communicated with us every step of the way. He made sure we were happy with his work. Sean was our sales guy, who was laid back and easy to work with, not pushy. Morgan, in the office, guided us through the design process and picking out the things we wanted with great patience...we changed our minds on things and she was so graceful. Jaxon was our project manager and did a great job of showing up, confirming we were pleased with the work being done and getting things moving along, taken care of through it all. Blue Haven Pools & Spas is, without question, the worst company I have ever dealt with. I've built a 20,000-square-foot home and completed countless construction, renovation, and build-out projects over the years. I understand that delays can happen, but I have never experienced such poor communication, lack of accountability, and broken promises from any contractor. In June 2025, I paid a $48,600 deposit for a pool renovation. After signing the contract, I didn't hear from anyone for over a month. I repeatedly called and emailed before finally reaching someone, only to be told they couldn't start as originally promised. The project didn't begin until February 2026. My first project manager never provided a direct phone number--only an office extension where he was never available. For months, I left voicemail after voicemail and sent countless emails to him, the office staff, and the branch manager. Most of them went completely unanswered. Eventually, the branch manager contacted me to say my original project manager had left the company (or was fired). I was assigned a new project manager who at least answers his phone, but every conversation has been another promise with no follow-through. I still can't get firm dates or straightforward answers. To make matters worse, I was told I had to pay the remaining balance of the contract in full before the final phase of the project could be completed. I did exactly that over two weeks ago, and since then they've had a crew on-site only once. Back in February, I gave them a very reasonable completion deadline of July 1, giving them more than enough time to finish what is not a large or particularly complicated renovation. Instead, my project has sat completely idle for a combined total of at least two months. To make matters even worse, because of Blue Haven's repeated delays and poor project management, I was forced to spend another $2,000+ to upgrade the pool plaster simply so it could cure faster and be swimmable sooner. Because of these delays, I now have renters arriving and will likely have to let them stay free of charge because the pool is unusable. Instead of a finished renovation, I have a construction site. This company has shown a complete lack of professionalism, communication, scheduling, and customer service. I'm honestly shocked they're still in business. read more

To reply to blue havens reply. Yes I met with Thomas twice to go over issues. And yes they tried to resolve some of them. And did successfully resolve some. Several issues Thomas offered nothing to correct. Some he said he could but I'd go months longer without my pool. As for the leak detection after replaster they are claiming they did. That's a bold face lie. Which it typical of blue haven employees. I asked for a leak detection due to loosing several inches of a water a day. I was told I to fill out a form stating I would pay for the leak detection if no leak was found and it would be up to $600. I refused to do that and showed them the leak myself which was a hole in the new plaster that they had already tried to patch twice. You did replace two patches of sod in my and my neighbors yard after your sub ran his can through my and my neighbors yard after a hard rain for no reason severely damaging both yards. However the time a different sub destroyed my other neighbors yard y'all did nothing to help there. I had to fix those damages myself. Y'all did a crap job and you know it. Even your own staff has admitted it. Honestly y'all's dishonesty and unprofessionalism is worse than the poor work yall performed. read more

Zero stars if I could. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. I had a rust spot that was removed countless times and still came back. When they finally fixed the rust spot they drained my pool on the side of my house flooding the side completely submerged in about 4" of water damaging my freshly set turf and paver. And now after a year has past I have a leak in my jacuzzi which blue haven is washing their hands clean saying it's not their problem! I paid 100 grand for this pool all for it to leak after a year!? if I could give them zero, I would. They started in May gave us 8 to 10 weeks. Of course they ended on week 10 only because my husband stayed on them. They also probably didn't work for a whole month combined the people they subcontract don't speak very good English so it's hard to communicate with them and of course you can't get a hold of anybody at the company. our pole was just finished at the end of July. The pavers are already sinking after my husband told them that do it properly and they claimed oh it'll be OK. They were supposed to come fix them this week. Of course all they did was added the ones they left out. They're rust marks on the pavers Our supervisor was supposed to come two weeks ago, but never came and still hasn't. The salt for a was supposed to be delivered yesterday of course wasn't and they tried to tell us to do it, but we don't know how. The pool has stains and the pictures magically disappeared off of our site that we used to communicate If that's what you want to call it. This was our first time building a pool and after reading many reviews and looking at a few options, we decided to go with Blue Haven Pools & Spas and could not be happier! From the beginning, Rick Cox, our designer, did an amazing job of drawing up our pool. There were logistical challenges based on the layout of our lot, and he did an amazing job of working around those issues and really getting us an end product we love! He was also very friendly and very informative about how the rest of the process would go. When it came time to deciding our pool finishes, Morgan Moore, was super helpful. We did not feel rushed our pressured, and appreciated her being thorough in explaining all the options and pricing. She was very knowledgeable and patient with us throughout the process. Sean Carter and Thomas Moore were our two superintendents, and they were both awesome! Sean was our main contact throughout the construction phase and did a great job of communicating dates and setting expectations for the various phases. To this day, Sean will still answer, or route me to the right person, to get any questions or concerns addressed. He made the construction phase feel like a breeze and was quick to tackle all items on our post-construction punch list (which wasn't many!). Also, Brazilian Brickpavers was contracted to do our decking and we could not be more happy or impressed. The crew's work ethic and attention to detail was amazing. We'd notice some small imperfections in tile work or with the pavers, and without even needing to tell them or ask, they fixed it on their own. The quality of work they do is probably unmatched and as a result, we've hired them to do more work for us soon! Taking on a large project like this can feel overwhelming and scary, but Blue Haven made it the process so smooth and relatively painless. I wish we wouldn't of chosen to hire blue haven pools for our new homes pool build. The whole experience was a nightmare. We signed our contract and put down a down payment in January 2021 well here it is almost November (almost a whole year later) No pool can't even get Eric to return our calls or give us any information on what the hold up is. Our builder has tried multiple times as well. I find that to be Very unprofessional. We have even gone up to the office a few times trying to get some answers. No one knows anything. One time we were even rudely turned away and told no one could help us right now. I really wish we would of went with another Pool Co. we would of had our pool months ago. Not sure how this project fell though the cracks and the Co isn't concerned at all. I highly recommend not hiring Blue Haven Pools to build your pool. Contacting them and trying to get any info on our project has been awful and very stressful. I got online and started reading reviews for this Co to see that we are not the only ones having these kinds of issues with Blue Haven Pools. Please go read the reviews on Better Business bureau's website as well as Yelp and Facebook. After submitting this review this company after many months of not calling us back and holding our money Joshua Hopkinson emailed my husband. (It appears that leaving a 1 star review for this Co is the only way to get them to contact you sadly) Joshua Hopkinson's email stated the following: "I have sent this to my team I am currently away from the office for an extended period" "I will say that I also have an email that it appears your wife left a one star review on Google so I would definitely love to have that removed before we go further. I will follow up." Um so basically the only way to get them to contact us was me leaving a one start review, and now the owner wants it "removed before we go further" Not sure about you, but I see this as a threat that nothing will be handled with our non existent pool until I remove my review. I'm posting this to point out a few things: my contract was neither correct or updated when it need to be, trying to get someone on the phone in the office was impossible, the project was put on hold for two months for lost paperwork but Ed Hawkins was by far the best person I worked with. He had a solution to every problem, he was kind and understanding and he always answered or returned my phone calls with help or answers to offer. In my opinion he should be running things. I am not one for bad reviews but honestly, this company needs a lot of improvement. The experience started out by me calling the number on the website to make an appointment for a design consultation. We were told by the representative that they were not the cheapest company in the area. I do not for the life of me understand why I came across as needing the cheapest company in the area, but I digress. She then proceeded to tell me they were two months out as far as appointments, but that is OK we can wait. Our consultant came out to spend hours with us designing our pool, but no one bothered to tell us this was the plan, so needless to say we did not have hours and we started out on the wrong foot. Why not set the expectation so your client understands how this works? The only thing I was told on the initial call was I would be receiving a brochure in the mail which I would need to have at the consultation appointment. After he left, we felt a bit better as he did his measurements and assured us, we could have a call where we would design our pool. Within days the consultant and my husband and I worked via FaceTime to get a rendering of our pool using a cool software that even showed people sipping cocktails in our hot tub...cool right? We were excited again! Now the odd returns... Before choosing any materials, Blue Haven wants you to sign a contract? Wait, what? How can I sign a contract when I do not know the final cost? Oh, lol, the upsell game! No, not signing an incomplete contract that holds us to purchase, prior to picking materials. We asked if we could go to the local store to view materials so we can move closer to contract signing and getting on the dig schedule (as they were 2-3 months out). The consultant seemed perplexed as "most people just sign." I guess we are not most people! Our consultant said he would call ahead to the local store, so she knew we were coming. Great! Off we go to the store in Santa Rosa. The lady who runs the store was NOT HAPPY as she does not show us anything until we are at the contract stage. Again, we reiterated that we were not signing anything until we picked materials as we are paying cash. She made us VERY uncomfortable as it was obvious this was a new way of doing things for her. If she said it once, she said it ten times, "this is not how we normally do this". NOW we get it! You sign a contract only to go to the store and realize that everything that comes with the said contract is extremely low-end and not to our standards. Literally the lowest of the low of materials. Everything is an upsell and an addendum to your contract. Our pool quickly went from $62,000 to almost $80 in the blink of an eye, on paper, just by adding nicer tile, a few stones, and a different color paver! We were stunned! We walked out of that store in a foggy haze of disbelief and frustration. We had budgeted $75k but knew we could not get what we wanted for that amount and TRUST me what we wanted was NOT all that! We discussed on our drive home and called our consultant once we arrived. Explained how unhappy we were with the experience and asked for an updated quote based upon a few materials we had picked. Told him the workmanship we had seen in some of the photos at the store gave us pause as to the grout lines, etc. (we had built a pool previously so knew about materials). Could he speak to his manager about a smaller grout line as we knew 3" grout would chip and come apart? He seemed perplexed but said he would if we could send him an idea of what we were looking for. He did, in fact, speak with his manager and they agreed that yes, they could do a smaller grout line but the cost would go up as they'd be using more materials. The next step was a price for gray pavers, an upgrade of course. Crickets. Then we get a voicemail asking us if we are ready to sign our contract. Wait, what? We asked about another upgrade price. So... We left several messages, sent several emails but no response. We know we are not the easiest people to work with, because we have questions, concerns, as we are educated consumers, and again $75k cash for a hole in the ground! NEVER heard back until about 45-days later when we got an odd email from our consultant, who was in another country, and apologized for being a bit overwhelmed and needed a break. Trust me, we need a break too, a permanent one! Now they are a national company, and I am sure everyone hasn't had the same experience, but wow just wow! Approach with caution is all I can say! It's a marathon, not a sprint and you better have good running shoes! read more

Our experience with Blue Haven Pools in Freeport, Fl has been wonderful from start to finish. Sean and Thomas were easy to communicate with and always got back to us quickly to answer any questions or concerns. They were always there checking on progress and making sure things went smoothly. Any minor issues ( which are expected with any kind of construction) were addressed and rectified right away. We started our pool build in November and finished mid January, right on time with original time frame given. Our pool turned out beautiful, exactly what we envisioned. We hired Blue Haven Pools to replaster and repair an old gunite pool. The contract was signed in May 2021. The work was not done until September 2021. We were promised " a like new pool" with a larger top skimmer and improved circulation in the pool. There has been issues with poor circulation in my pool since the installation. I have tried to get this problem fixed. I've yet to get cooperation. A couple of weeks ago they sent someone from their company to repair or install two new directional jets. After three attempts by the repair person I've if the jets keeps blowing off. I've had another pool company look at the problem. Seems they did not install the new jets properly. This would seem a simple fix but I've yet to get cooperation or even a call back this week. I've also heard from another pool service company that they have been hearing multiple complaints about Blue Haven Pools. My 88 yr old mother is the homeowner. This company is obviously not reliable. Also to try to take advantage of an elderly person is quite dispicable. I've spoken with the manager at Blue Haven and Calm Waters, their service company. I've been promised this issue would be fixed. Still waiting. No return phone calls. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I just got off the phone with Kyle Carruth with Blue Haven Pools, Gulf Breeze. He told me my contract did not address directional flow jets, which is the issue, but his company did take out the old ones and now the two pipes coming out of the side of the pool are sticking out. Not recessed in the wall like they were before the refurbishment. This is clearly not only poor service but misrepresentation of what was promised. He said that his company is " trying to find the right size jets" but can not give me a time frame. So every day I must deal with poor circulation in my pool causing me more work to keep it clean. I would never recommend Blue Haven Pools. They are certainly not reliable and do poor quality work on pools. read more

We started the process with BlueHaven 5 weeks ago on 21 Jan, they didn't show for the first appointment, they apologized and gave us a $50 gift card and showed up just fine the 2nd time, we discussed everything we wanted and things seemed great, 2 weeks pass and we did not get the initial design and information to submit to the ARB, which was promised to be sent that day, I reached out and a few days later I get some photos, we discussed price and we're ready to sign the estimate and submit to ARB, still nothing. Horrible customer service. I first contacted the Santa Rosa Beach office by phone and an office employee told me the salesman was at lunch but she would send him my contact information. A week went by without a response and again spoke to the same employee who told me she doesn't know why I haven't been contacted me but assured me Eric Bobel would call me that day. Two additional days went by and finally I spoke to Eric Bobel from Blue Haven pools. Eric and I made an appointment for that week. On the day of the appointment, Eric text me to confirm our appointment which was in about one hour. I assured him I would be there with my builder/contractor at the scheduled time. Eric never showed up so I attempted to call him but no answer. I text him, no response. I called the Santa Rosa Beach office and was told by the same employee she doesn't know where Eric was. After an hour, Eric called and told me he was on his way from the office. Altogether, Eric was 90 minutes late and when he arrived, he told me, " I got caught up with things at home". I asked why he couldn't call and notify me of his delay, he said, "well I'm here now. You still want to do this?" Eric, my builder and I went over the design in detail. I was told he would have a plan for my builder in a few days. Over a week goes by and I had to call in order to get my plans, which were NOT what we discussed. He then stated he would redraw plans and have them within the week. This is the last I heard from him for two plus weeks. I would call, text and leave messages. I never got a response. This pool was the last stage of my build and the builder needed his design so it could be incorporated into the permit process. Waiting on Eric was just ridiculous. After a month goes by when I finally text him to cancel my pool with Blue Haven because of this extreme lack of communication, he told me he's been too busy with other customers. I definitely do not recommend Blue Haven Pools or working with Eric Bobel. I'm glad I realized prior to my build he would never perform on what he says he will do. read more

I never leave reviews, good or bad, so that should tell you how extremely unhappy I am right now. We signed our pool contract DECEMBER 3 OF 2020 and we still do not have a completed pool as of JULY 14, 2021. Permits came back on FEBRUARY 11, 2021, approximately four weeks after they were FINALLY submitted. At that point we were told that they were scheduling dig dates at the end of April and we were given a date of April 24, which was then pushed to May 4 due to weather. We are not doing an extravagant pool and have been told by EVERYONE involved how 'easy' and 'straightforward' our pool is to complete. We have also been told all along how our pool would take no more than 6 to 8 weeks to complete and might be closer to the 6 week timeframe considering how 'easy' our pool is. We are at 10 weeks now with no end date in sight. It has become painfully apparent that, since our pool is on the easy side, we have been getting squeezed into the schedule when it's convenient alongside other, larger jobs and have not been made a priority at all. I can say this with confidence since our project manager inadvertently sent us a screen shot of another, much more expensive, pool contract. That contract was signed on MARCH 5, 2021 and was given a dig date of MAY 21, just a few weeks after our actual dig date. I know Blue Haven will use the 'their permits came back faster excuse', but their permits would have had to have come back instantly for that to even come close to making sense. Not that any of this matters. We likely won't have a completed pool until sometime in August after the kids have already gone back to school, even though we were told all along that by signing our contract in December - almost 8 months ago now - that we would have a completed pool by June 'at the latest' and would be able to swim all summer. This isn't even a house we expect to be in for more than another couple years, so this was a waste of one of the summers we have left here. That promise is what convinced us to go ahead and do the pool after all. I wish we had never gone ahead with this project; at least the kids would still have been able to use our backyard for the summer. A slip and slide would have made them just as happy at this point. I am not even going to go into how we have had to chase after the project manager just to find out what's going on and then to push him to actually get something done. Although I will say he is very proactive when it comes time to collect a check (insert eye roll here). Maybe all the pool companies generally suck. Regardless, rest assured we will not be using Blue Haven on the next pool and I will not recommend them to anyone. I hope others have had a more positive experience with Blue Haven. read more
