I'm not going to lie, the pool is great. It's what it took to get there is the issue. If you want to spend a bunch of money and get less than DMV level service use Blue Haven, and specifically ask to have Jeff Nodine as your project manager. Jeff Nodine was rude, arrogant, and condescending. Jeff Nodine was so difficult to communicate with I had to call his boss. His boss was here for three minutes and solved the issue. I know this post won't make a difference to Blue Haven, but I was able to talk three of my neighbors out of using them, simply based on the service I recieved from Jeff Nodine. Pool companies are a dime a dozen. Use one that respects your time and money. Blue Haven and Jeff Nodine do not. @Blue Haven, before you start covering for Jeff Nodine, my entire interaction was video and audio recorded. Save your breath. You got my money. 101425--Tim Daw the GM contacted me today. Tim was the one that resolved my problem with Jeff Nodine. My pool was put in six months ago. That's also when the issue was. I moved in from it. This post stemmed from a conversation that I had with a neighbor that also had Jeff Nodine. I was going to delete this post but if Jeff's behavior was corrected six months ago, he wouldn't have treated someone else this way. I want to reiterate, my pool is awesome! Blue Haven Pools have been very up front with all their communications with us. The Builder Trend Project Management app made helped us to track the progress with the daily logs have been great, and instant communication with the site manager. Mike has always answered our questions and kept us up to date on the project. He also has been upfront if there were any delays due to weather, materials or crews' non availability. We started on June 6, 2023 and we filled the pool yesterday which was August 3, 2023. We took the opportunity to look at their Plunge Pool Sale. It was a great deal we could not pass up for a 9 x 20 Gunite Pool. It was the perfect size for our yard and the price was right and much lower than their competitors. We are happy with the progress so far and looking forward to the finished pool project. We have a few more things to complete and we will be able to use our pool in a month. We are very happy! We would recommend Blue Haven Pools and their site manager Mike has made this process less stressful with his wanting to do the right thing, produce a great pool, and being a great listener so we could make informed decisions. read more

Update - as promised, following my previous post I wanted to provide an update on status. We are pleased to report that Blue Haven jumped in and dedicated the management, time and teams required to find and fix our main-line leak. It's been very stressful but we are very happy to say, our beautiful new pool is finally not losing water for the first time since the build was complete, so kudos to the Mobile team for jumping on this and getting it fixed! Pump was not working correctly so gave them a call. We did a reset (yes I tried that, didn't know you had to wait 15 minutes) which corrected the problem. A lesser company would've said oh, great we're done then. But Blue Haven Pools / Calm Waters knew they had been having issues with circuit boards on some pumps and came out and replaced the pump circuit board! Dwayne the tech was great! Their trucks left a big mess in the street while installing a pool over there. Puddles of oil and lots of sand. When asked about cleaning it up, one of the workers said something in Spanish that had a smart alic tone to it. Won't use them in the future. Very disrespectful. read more

Pool construction and set up is all done by sub contractors. There is no quality control before building process moves to next phase. Site managers are non responsive and are quick to blame sub contractors. They require payment before each phase and once paid you can't usually reach anyone if there is an issue. Once complete all issues have to be submitted through online warranty process. Overall- pool design is good but their customer service is lacking in every aspect. Should have used local company- no one seems to know what other department is doing and communication is terrible. read more

They have shafted us multiple times. pay 70k for pool .. don't go blue haven. they installed our ozone cleaner upside down .. no one said anything about it until a year later someone realized it was put in wrong. them they put in a 15 something to calibrate the salt and set it to 5. they are all about get it up and leave you stranded. The experience was as good as it can get. As a builder I know what happens in construction. Whether delays, subs can be unreliable, and customer expectations are many times unrealistic. Since I am realistic, I couldn't be more satisfied. They started on time, they finished on time, they literally worked day and night sometimes until 9:00 pm. When we had a hiccup here and there Justin took note and corrected immediately. Gary did a great job getting us to contract and Justin brought it home. I highly recommend and will be a personal reference. read more

Our Blue Haven pool building experience exceeded our expectations from working with Larry on the designs, to ultimately initiating the layout and construction of our pool with Chris. Larry offered his design knowledge and was very patient as we worked thru several changes of multiple designs of the pool for many months. I was totally disappointed in the process that I had to go through with Blue Haven Pools to get my pool completely built. Before deciding to go with Blue Haven Pools, I did my research on them as well as the two other companies from which I received bids. I read the reviews on Yelp and other sites and the photos of pools that I saw were beautiful and the owners seemed satisfied so my final selection was Blue Haven Pools on the Gulf, LLC. I am specifically referring to Blue Haven Pools on the Gulf, because they were responsible for installing my pool and I am so disappointed in them that I feel compelled to share my experience so others can avoid the pitfalls that I incurred. The process began with a salesperson that was great; he explained everything, priced it out for me and made it sound like they would be beginning the work on my pool as soon as the financing was secured. Once this was done, I never heard from the salesperson again. He referred me to a lady in the Gulf Breeze office who never returned phone calls or emails. I had to contact Mobile to get a response from her. He also said that to get a pool installed would normally be a six to eight week process, NOT...it took nearly 4 months to get everything done. The Project Manger is next and comes out to measure and mark the space, goes over the process with you and gets the work started. He assured me that Blue Haven had their own workers, however, I soon found that not to be true as nearly every stage of the work was contracted out to vendors that the Project Manager had no control over. He could never tell me exactly when the next step in the process was to begin. He would only say that the work had been scheduled. They immediately dug the hole for the pool, however there were times when weeks would go by before another subcontractor would show up to complete the next step. The Project Manager was always on time to have me sign for disbursement of compensation; however, he was not able to ensure that the work was continuous without weeklong pauses. He was constantly talking about the limited numbers of companies that could do the work, so there were weeks when no work was done on the pool. Although, my irrigation system was clearly marked and flagged, they busted sprinkler heads and pipes and offered no compensation at all. My backyard was completed gutted and I had to pay to have new sod installed after Blue Haven was finally finished. To get answers and response to inquiries, I had to contact the Blue Haven Office in Mobile to get a response from the people at Blue Haven in Gulf Breeze. The final straw that was so very disconcerting for me was when I was asked to sign that the final stage of the pool installation had been completed before it was completed! The Project Manager indicated that the plastering would not begin unless I signed indicating that the work was completed. After I signed, it was another week before the work started. There was a problem with the wall on the backside and it took me contacting the Mobile office and filing a complaint to get them to address the issue. Three people including the project manager took photos and assured me the wall would be addressed, however it wasn't addressed until I contacted the people in Mobile. I also selected a screen enclosure for my pool, which the Project Manager said could only be installed three to four months later as the vendor was running behind. To my chagrin, I became aware of the fact that Blue Haven had been paid for the screen enclosure and I was required to submit payment for work that they had no idea when it would begin. Again, I had to file a complaint with the Mobile office to get someone to correct that disorder and get a vendor out sooner. The screen enclosure company came out and found several errors in the pool layout that they had to make adjustments for and again, it was staff from the Mobile office that came out and corrected the errors made my their subcontractors as the Project Manager never showed up again after getting a signature indicating that the Bank could release final payment to Blue Haven. I am not sure what the reasoning was for delivering subpar customer service to me. Not sure if it was because I am a single female, a black female, or both, but the negligence, lack of communication, and total disrespect that I experienced with Blue Haven Pools on the Gulf was repulsive and should not be tolerated when making this type of financial investment. I cannot in good faith recommend the Blue Haven Pools branch in Gulf Breeze as getting my pool installed was a constant disappointment and headache throughout the process and it cost me over $3,000 to make repairs to the damage the contractors left. read more

I am not one for bad reviews but honestly, this company needs a lot of improvement. The experience started out by me calling the number on the website to make an appointment for a design consultation. We were told by the representative that they were not the cheapest company in the area. I do not for the life of me understand why I came across as needing the cheapest company in the area, but I digress. She then proceeded to tell me they were two months out as far as appointments, but that is OK we can wait. Our consultant came out to spend hours with us designing our pool, but no one bothered to tell us this was the plan, so needless to say we did not have hours and we started out on the wrong foot. Why not set the expectation so your client understands how this works? The only thing I was told on the initial call was I would be receiving a brochure in the mail which I would need to have at the consultation appointment. After he left, we felt a bit better as he did his measurements and assured us, we could have a call where we would design our pool. Within days the consultant and my husband and I worked via FaceTime to get a rendering of our pool using a cool software that even showed people sipping cocktails in our hot tub...cool right? We were excited again! Now the odd returns... Before choosing any materials, Blue Haven wants you to sign a contract? Wait, what? How can I sign a contract when I do not know the final cost? Oh, lol, the upsell game! No, not signing an incomplete contract that holds us to purchase, prior to picking materials. We asked if we could go to the local store to view materials so we can move closer to contract signing and getting on the dig schedule (as they were 2-3 months out). The consultant seemed perplexed as "most people just sign." I guess we are not most people! Our consultant said he would call ahead to the local store, so she knew we were coming. Great! Off we go to the store in Santa Rosa. The lady who runs the store was NOT HAPPY as she does not show us anything until we are at the contract stage. Again, we reiterated that we were not signing anything until we picked materials as we are paying cash. She made us VERY uncomfortable as it was obvious this was a new way of doing things for her. If she said it once, she said it ten times, "this is not how we normally do this". NOW we get it! You sign a contract only to go to the store and realize that everything that comes with the said contract is extremely low-end and not to our standards. Literally the lowest of the low of materials. Everything is an upsell and an addendum to your contract. Our pool quickly went from $62,000 to almost $80 in the blink of an eye, on paper, just by adding nicer tile, a few stones, and a different color paver! We were stunned! We walked out of that store in a foggy haze of disbelief and frustration. We had budgeted $75k but knew we could not get what we wanted for that amount and TRUST me what we wanted was NOT all that! We discussed on our drive home and called our consultant once we arrived. Explained how unhappy we were with the experience and asked for an updated quote based upon a few materials we had picked. Told him the workmanship we had seen in some of the photos at the store gave us pause as to the grout lines, etc. (we had built a pool previously so knew about materials). Could he speak to his manager about a smaller grout line as we knew 3" grout would chip and come apart? He seemed perplexed but said he would if we could send him an idea of what we were looking for. He did, in fact, speak with his manager and they agreed that yes, they could do a smaller grout line but the cost would go up as they'd be using more materials. The next step was a price for gray pavers, an upgrade of course. Crickets. Then we get a voicemail asking us if we are ready to sign our contract. Wait, what? We asked about another upgrade price. So... We left several messages, sent several emails but no response. We know we are not the easiest people to work with, because we have questions, concerns, as we are educated consumers, and again $75k cash for a hole in the ground! NEVER heard back until about 45-days later when we got an odd email from our consultant, who was in another country, and apologized for being a bit overwhelmed and needed a break. Trust me, we need a break too, a permanent one! Now they are a national company, and I am sure everyone hasn't had the same experience, but wow just wow! Approach with caution is all I can say! It's a marathon, not a sprint and you better have good running shoes! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We have had nothing but issues since they installed our pool 4 years ago. They did not install the pipes correctly and all of them are leaking which then caused all of our pavers to start to sink. We ended paying a contractor to come out and pull up all the pavers and repack the sand underneath to fix the issue not knowing that leaking pipes were the issue. Once he pulled the pavers up and we saw the damaged pipes, he stopped and we contacted Blue Haven (we already knew this was going to be an issue as we have had issues with them fixing other problems in the past). Sure enough they are claiming it's out of warranty so they won't cover the costs. THEY PUT THE PIPES IN WRONG!!!! We have been advised to take them to small claims court. Save yourself the hassle and use another company. read more

After our pool (which was done amazingly, PM'd by Nick) coping started to crumble (we had a bad batch of stone), Kale and the warranty crew, without hesitation, replaced the coping, and ensured that any concerns were immediately addressed. Our experience with Blue Haven Pools was fantastic as long as you don't count the few exceptions with promised paperwork and the financial department. We highly recommend them and would, if needed, use them again! GARY FREEMAN, the pool designer, came to our house to look at our yard and design our pool after we sent him all the pictures and information he asked for. He brought tools to measure the yard and the elevation. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very experienced. He was absolutely great! When he left our house, we signed/approved the design. He gave us a handwritten contract with prices, etc... (Note: SAVE that paper, because it is the only contract or proof of the price you are going to get). Blue Haven Pools offers financing through a finance company named Lendkey. We called Lendkey, and they were very professional, friendly, and helpful. We financed enough money to pay for about 1/3 of our pool price. Blue Haven has a "Pay Schedule", that is very liberal, not asking for all the money up front or at one time. It's something like 30% at the dig, 35% at another stage, 30% at another stage, and then 5% at the end. On our "Dig Date", we received our first bill or invoice. STEPHANIE GLOVER, a finance person from Blue Haven Pool sent it to us. The amount we owed was not what we expected. She took the money we borrowed and decided how we were going to use it, dividing it up how she saw fit. I tried to call her, and e-mail her, she was not ever at her desk, and there was very little response in e-mail. In fact I think she was avoiding me. After some e-mail she agreed to our payment schedule (after all it is not her money), keeping with the above percentages. She then sent THE SAME EXACT INVOICE as the one she sent before. The way you pay is by clicking on a link on this e-mail...you can't change the amount so there is no way to pay money that is owed. Finally, we took it upon ourselves to make out the money pay schedule. We made out the checks for each phase and sent a printed copy of the Pay Schedule to the company because obviously Stephanie couldn't figure it out after we told her how we were going to spend our money. If you go with Blue Haven Pool ask that STEPHANIE GLOVER has nothing to do with your finances. She works at Blue Haven Pool not at Lendkey, the finance company. Before our "dig date" we had to go into the office and speak with KIMBERLY, she was very nice and friendly. She explained the safety laws and some other aspects of building a pool. She had us sign some papers that we understood about the child safety laws. Then she showed us the various options for pool colors, bricks, etc... When we upgraded some items, we signed more papers agreeing to the additional cost. (Remember the only evidence of how much your pool costs is the hand written document they pool designer leaves with you). We asked for copies of all the papers we had signed, she assured us she would e-mail them. She is not going to e-mail them. Don't leave her office without copies because even if you ask her a second time, she is not going to send them. You will be assigned a Project Manager, ask for AMBER MARTIN, she is beyond fabulous! She is engaged, knowledgeable and a true leader/manager. She kept the crews moving, kept us informed and went out of her way to ensure our pool was done the right way. Overall this was a fantastic experience, I would defiantly use Blue Haven Pool again with a few changes. And recommend them to everyone, with a note to get copies of papers you sign from Kimberly and steer clear of Stephanie Glover. read more

On 6/23/2021 I submitted a review of Blue Haven Pools and Spa and today I am submitting this addendum as I am a person of integrity and when a company tries to right its wrongs, I feel inclined to speak on their efforts to correct and/or compensate a customer (me). After submitting my review, I was contacted immediately by "Jeff" from Blue Haven asking if he could come out and discuss the issues I raised in person. We set up a time and date and he came out and inspected my pool and saw the issues that I discussed. I was encouraged as he listened and agreed that the service I received was subpar and not representative of what Blue Haven Pools stood for. He explained how he was already taking steps to eliminate the communication problems, developing and implementing standard operating procedures to insure accountability, and developing a new organizational structure to better facilitate customer needs. He asked what could he do on behalf of Blue Haven to help me love my pool in spite of all that went on. It took a while, however, we were able to come to an amenable agreement on how to improve and enhance my pool deck as well as compensate me for the subpar customer service I received. Jeff shared some of the changes that are being made at Blue Haven and I believe that he really is trying to insure that no other customer experience the communication and building issues that I did. With Jeff's help, my pool and deck area is very nice and my family and I are enjoying our pool. In conclusion, my only advice is if you are getting your pool installed through Blue Haven on the Gulf and you have any concerns, you should contact Jeff right away! read more

We recently reached out to Blue Haven Pools for an estimate on a pool. As their website offers free in home estimates and design, which we were extremely interested to know the different pricing options for different features and designs. However, we were denied the opportunity and the consultant was extremely rude and refused us. We understood that the timeline for getting a pool installed now is delayed, and were happy to wait until there would be an opening in the October time frame or later. We could not believe that a sales consultant would treat us so rudely on the phone; especially when you are talking about the cost of getting a pool. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a pool in the Pensacola area to look elsewhere. read more

We had our pool resurfaced by Blue Haven in March 2021. As a side note, gunite surface was put on under a blow-up tarp/cover with spot lights because it was dark and raining. In June, we started noticing gray spots on the gunite surface. We called Blue Haven who came out in late June, looked at it and said "that's from metal in the water." We were advised it's common in Crestview but they don't usually see it here. BH advised us what to buy to add to the water and said to give it a month. Out of curiosity, we had the water tested for metals and there was not any issue. We still added what they advised us to and waited... The spots persisted and more developed. We went back and forth with BH who finally came out again November 22nd and tried several different things including scrubbing one of the spots with a stone which showed the spots are NOT superficial. BH indicated the water is too cold to treat for stains and we'd have to wait for warmer weather. BH said they would have to come back with the gunite supplier. Again, we went back and forth with Blue Haven who finally came with gunite rep on 12/17. While neither of them could identify the issue, Blue Haven said not a result of install and gunite rep said not a result of any issue with the gunite product. Gunite rep then said "it's due to the water being out of balance." What?!?!? How can they say that when they said they don't even know what it is or how to treat it!?!? Weather has warmed up, spots are worse every day. We've been trying since May 18th to get Blue Haven to come back. Keep getting the run around. Waiting to hear back after multiple calls. read more

I am not sure how this company received positive reviews. If I could give them negative stars, I would do so. I repeatedly requested a call to discuss adding adding a pool, completed the required form, emailed several pictures of our backyard and a property survey. No response. I texted the designer who told me he would call on Friday. When he did not call I reached out again and I was told he would reach out on Monday. I contacted them again that Monday and finally received a response. The design consultant was completely unprepared, could not answer questions or provide information and told me he would call back the next day " after he had a chance to review". Needless to say I never received a call back. If the service is this poor before you have the business I really don't want to know what it would be like after they collected our money. I also mentioned this company on Nextdoor and NOBODY recommended them, but I was warned repeatedly not to use them. Every single transaction with Blue Haven was labeled as a disaster. read more

From start to finish, Blue Haven not only made the process easy, they made it perfect. We started with Gary, who was great. He took our vision, suggested some changes that actually saved us thousands of dollars, and created the plan for an amazing pool and back yard. He was very knowledgeable of all the different systems and what will work best for the setup we wanted. He recommended against things that he didn't think we needed yet, and was very honest. Kimberly made picking out the tiles, coving, pavers etc. so simple even though, like any smart husband whose wife can't be there, I had to video chat with my wife to make sure I made the right color decisions. Once everything was picked out, we just waited until the start date. From start date to finish date, it took a little less than 6 weeks to complete, even with the weather constraints. Our contractor was Adam and we couldn't have asked for a better guy. He had the answers for every question we asked and was very quick to respond. His crews were all respectful and mindful of the fact that it's someone else's property and treated it as such. They worked fast, but did a great job. To top if off, they work hand in hand with Breeze enclosures, and Adam coordinated for them to come out this week to start on the patio cover and screened enclosure. My wife and I didn't have to do anything to make all this happen, other than sign the paperwork and pick out a few colors. Thank you Blue Haven. read more

Well let me start by saying I am a single mom and this was definitely a large investment for me so I obviously shopped about 5 different pool companies and read every review that was out there about each company I received an estimate from... well I obviously went with Blue haven... Gary Kelly came by and answered every single question i had, he measured my yard and drew it up on the spot he was absolutely fantastic from the minute I met this guy I completely trusted him ( let me tell you I dont trust anyone taking that kind of money from me) He had so much information and broke it all down and made it simple... well I signed on the spot... next thing you know I'm getting a call from kimberly to come to the office so we can pick colors,flagstone, and the tile she was totally on point... I'm a very needy customer lol and she answered every email with in minutes of me touching base with her answered all my concerns and walked me thru everything.... so dig date came Caleb and Nick came did there thing and explained every single thing that was being done, made different suggestions and I am soooo glad they did and I listened to them these guys were amazing from start to finish i had to text Caleb at 8:00 at night and he called me back immediately. Another time I had a question Nick was at my front door in minutes these guys were no joke no nonsense got the job done and had everyone coordinated and on board.... I was even away on vacation and received pictures and messages on the progress.... then theres Kevin.... us yankees stick together he was great came out took care of some last minute spa jet issues we had and was all over it... if your going to drop this kind of money on a pool I would highly recommend Blue Haven on the gulf these guys are no nonsense, always on time, they communicate with you every step of the way and my pool looks absolutely amazing Caleb and Nick got this thing done faster then what they told me.. I cannot say anything more about this company other then they were absolutely phenomenal and I will refer them to everyone I know! read more
