Then last month I get a bill from Riverview saying I owed appx $415 for services and that the bill was 90 days past due! I had never received a bill for anything before! I called them and they said that my insurance didn't cover all their expenses. I asked why this was the first bill I've received.... They didn't have a good answer. I should have just received a bill after the first cleaning, but I didn't. The whole thing seems sketchy to me.

She caused me pain from the moment she touched me until the owner took over. She could not seem to give me the right amount of numbing medication at any of the 4 times I saw her. The crown did not fit at all and had to be remade 2 times. Even after the 2nd crown was made I had to go back 2 more times to get it adjusted by the owner. AVOID THIS PLACES AT ALL COSTS. I AM NOW TERRIFIED OF GOING TO THE DENTIST. My new dentist asked for my x-rays. The first phone call they stated they had no x-rays. The second phone call they had x-rays. They sent over 6 x-rays for which 4 of them were from another patient. I had to pay my new dentist for x-rays I didn't need because Riverview is so incompetent.

Took some X-rays and examined my cavities I had and knew I was in a crutch to get work done and was able to schedule it and get it done. The procedure was great and went by nice and smooth. After about a week or several days was in dire pain and sensitivity I pushed through it and it got better. But over the course it still hurts today with hot and cold things. Overall I'd recommend coming here for any dental procedure needed just wish they had fluoride free things to use.

This morning I had the treat of watching a blue heron come in for a landing while I was waiting in addition to a busy wood duck. I can hardly wait for a summer appointment to see the action. oops, sorry, I am supposed to be reviewing dentistry and not the best places to observe wildlife, sorry about that. Upon arriving I was greeted by name and a smile. My wait was brief. They are even friendly when you depart; "Do you want some chocolate?" What, candy, too? I took a raincheck on the chocolate, but next time I think I will indulge because I hear they are sharing Lees chocolates. Now, about the dentistry: No shaming for being a chicken and no pain, whatsoever. Everyone from the front desk all the way to the back will do whatever they can for patients. I am so happy I landed in this office. I have had a LOT of crowns over the years and the crown I had done at Dr. Bauter's office this morning was, hands down, the best experience I have ever had. The entire staff is professional, kind, happy and talented. I visited this office earlier this year to have a gum issue checked out. It was swollen and they…read morewere able to squeeze me in quickly. When I got there they did all the X-rays, poked the gum, and then the resulting dentist came in and looked at my mouth for less than 10 seconds. He declared that we should remove the tooth, and then declared I had 3 cavities as well. They did not tell me to do a salt wash and see if the gum irritation cleared up, nor did they say to take any medication. In my shock, I scheduled a follow up to remove the tooth and fill in my new cavities. Then I got home and did some research. I did a salt wash for two days and the swollen gum went down to normal. Then I booked a secondary opinion appt at another dentist. Once again did the whole X-ray and other checks. Not a single cavity, nor did they think the tooth should be removed. Horizon is unprofessional and took advantage of an urgent situation. I cancelled all appts and moved onto another dentist. I highly recommend you consider before moving forward on anything with them.

Just take Warm Springs Avenue down to the Idaho Botanical Gardens and go one street further. Dr. Smith, Kelsey (dental hygienist), and the rest of the staff have always taken good care of my teeth. They will tell you what insurance they recommend. And if something is unusual you can request an estimate in advance to determine how much it will cost and how much insurance will cover. I've found the estimates to be much more accurate than other medical services. If you live in the area, I would recommend you give this dentist a try.
