I visited this office earlier this year to have a gum issue checked out. It was swollen and they were able to squeeze me in quickly. When I got there they did all the X-rays, poked the gum, and then the resulting dentist came in and looked at my mouth for less than 10 seconds. He declared that we should remove the tooth, and then declared I had 3 cavities as well. They did not tell me to do a salt wash and see if the gum irritation cleared up, nor did they say to take any medication. In my shock, I scheduled a follow up to remove the tooth and fill in my new cavities. Then I got home and did some research. I did a salt wash for two days and the swollen gum went down to normal. Then I booked a secondary opinion appt at another dentist. Once again did the whole X-ray and other checks. Not a single cavity, nor did they think the tooth should be removed. Horizon is unprofessional and took advantage of an urgent situation. I cancelled all appts and moved onto another dentist. I highly recommend you consider before moving forward on anything with them. read more

Been going to Horizon Dental for years now and I always have a pleasant experience. The front office is very welcoming and happy to help with insurance and booking appointments. The hygienist is always careful and thorough, and Dr Bennion is great. I appreciate how they explain everything to me and listen to any concerns I may have. Wholeheartedly recommend! read more

I'll start with saying Dr. Enright is AMAZING! She is so knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. She cares about your concerns and will answer your questions. I am terrified of the dentist and she made sure I didn't feel a thing. Truly appreciate her work and her staff are so nice and friendly. Only complaint I have is that they did not tell me my insurance was not "in network" so I paid a lot even though my insurance did cover some (but not most due to not being in network). Sad to not be able to return but I wish they would have been honest on that piece in giving me a heads up. Otherwise I recommend! read more

I'm very happy with this dentist! When another dentist was hesitant to take care of a cavity, this one saw it, dove in, and took care of it no problem. I would say that one of the hygienists talks a lot. Very friendly. I would take away a star for that, but really, for friendliness? Nah. I shouldn't. read more

Wow, we have been so happy and impressed with Dr. Speirs and his office staff. We've been to some mediocre dentists in the past and we feel really lucky to have found this office. We like the individualized attention. For example, the doctor called me personally before my appointment to see if I had any questions or concerns before I saw him that I'd like him to address. I thought that was a very nice touch. I also liked the paraffin hand treatment they did on me while they cleaned my teeth. It was like bring at a spa! I ended up needing a small filling, and I was really impresses with their work. I never even felt the needle when they gave me novocain, in part because they didn't rush me and let the topical anesthetic take full effect. Then they were thoughtful about little things like giving me sunglasses to protect my eyes from the light, and they kept putting Chapstick on my lips to keep them from hurting. It was really thoughtful. They were also fantastic about working in an out-of-state relative who developed a massive toothache while visiting us. He was also really impressed with the office and said he wished he could see them all the time. The office is a little dated on the outside, but beautiful and newly remodeled inside. And the staff is very nice and professional. As much as you can love a dentist's office, I love this place. Very highly recommended. read more

Wanna get ripped off? Wanna get bounced from dentist to dentist. Want your teeth damaged then charged for it? Wanna almost die from their lack of knowledge with nitrous? Wanna pay twice that a quality dentist charges? Then this is the dentist for you. Perhaps she used to be good, but this is THE WORST dentist office (other than the friendly front desk lady) I've ever been treated at. So much I fled without completing work they started out of fear they would damage more of my teeth that are fine. They chipped my front tooth then charged me $400 for a filling saying it was a cavity (yea...interesting the cavity appeared the day after they worked on me but wasn't there before). They lied about a crown that was chipped (by them or the gum specialist they refer out to--even worse than this office!). They told me it was a cavity. Each time I went to have more work done I'd come out saying "why didn't you fix the hole?" I got the run around for over 6 months. Then they said it was the crown, then they said it was a cavity. I looked in my mirror & can tell this is a crown. So their answer was to charged me $1700 for a new crown. How convenient. I'm blown away of the lack of negative reviews. Dr. Enright is a gifted artist at the craft of dentistry! At my age there are many issues to deal with and paying for dentistry has always been an expensive issue for me. She gave me a comprehensive breakdown of my dental issues and an acceptable timeline for resolution...and my pocketbook too! She even offers a payment plan similar to joining a health club, which is way better than buying insurance that only covers limited services. read more

Dr. Enright and the staff are so professional, personable, and knowledgeable to boot! I'd been having excruciating jaw pain and teeth chipping away and/or rotting out. My very first procedure yesterday was 2 extractions on broken teeth. I felt no pain at all, and she prescribed me the 100% best antibiotic for the resistance of previous taken. And a day later, almost zero pain in my jaw, gums, teeth, or the extraction sites. Highly recommend horizontal dental!! read more

Plus, they offer paraffin hand treatments and the massaging dental chairs are a nice touch. We have referred friends, and they all have been pleased as well. Dr. Enright did not explain my options for a particular tooth. She told me the tooth needed immeadiate attention, which it did not. She did not listen to me. I asked her to stop working on the tooth before she cut the crown off and she refused. Her misdiagnosis and refusal to take my request into consideration has cost me over $3300.00. I would have had to pay a portion of that eventually, but she disregarded my wishes to wait until my insurance would have paid a large portion. I have since found a dentist that does explain and listen. Be careful. read more

We moved to Boise just over a year ago and have been incredibly pleased with Horizon Dental. They listen to what we want, and help us to find ways to get the treatment we need and maximize our insurance benefits. When I first came Dr. Enright suggested I use a fluoride toothpaste to try to treat some problem areas, rather than just treating them as cavities. Six months later, those problem areas are gone! I don't know about you, but my time is valuable. It is certainly a breath of fresh air when doctors and dentists can be on time. I have been a client of Dr. Ryan Speirs and Horizon Dental for about five years. Never once have they been late for an apt. They have always been early or on time. Their office is very clean and bright. They have a lovely little play room for kids off the lobby. The chairs have little massage pads on them. And you can get hand wax for free that super moisturizes your hands. The staff and Dr. Speirs always take the time to ask if you have questions or concerns. I have never felt rushed, like some doctors do. Also, they have a treat bowl you can grab something on the way out like granola bar, trail mix etc. So at least it is a little bit healthy. They also get you book brush, paste, and flavored chap stick with SPF in it! What more could you ask for. Overall, Horizon Dental gets an A++ in my book. read more

My family (2 parents, 2 kids) has been going to Horizon for 2 years now. We joke about how, for the first time in our experience, we now actually enjoy going to the dentist's office. Dr. Speirs and his team are friendly and helpful, their office is inviting, and they do outstanding work. I lost a piece of my tooth last year, which can be fairly traumatic.
