My longtime dry cleaners in Nyack closed down, which forced me to search for another local option. That is how I ended up at NY Spot Lite Cleaners. Unfortunately, that decision turned out to be a major mistake. Before getting into the issues, I want to be clear about something. I am the type of person who picks up dry cleaning and does not thoroughly inspect every item immediately. I also often do not wear items again until I actually need them. This has never been a problem for me in the past. I used the same dry cleaners in Nyack for years without a single negative experience, which is why I never felt the need to scrutinize my clothes at pickup. I have used this business three times since August 2025, and every single time there has been an issue. The first time, I picked up my clothes and later realized one of my favorite pairs of black flare pants was missing. After searching my entire home, I returned to the store and asked if they had a lost and found. The young female clerk went to the back and immediately found the pants, placed them in plastic, and handed them to me with no apology or explanation. When I got home, I noticed the pants were damaged beyond repair. There are red fibers embedded in the fabric that will not come off (see photo). These pants are ruined. It also makes me question why they were not returned to me with the rest of my order in the first place. The second time, I picked up another order and noticed an item was missing while I was still at the counter. The clerk reviewed the ticket, realized the mistake, and quickly retrieved the missing item. Once again, there was no apology. The final straw involved an expensive designer button up shirt. I brought it in to be dry cleaned, picked it up, and later packed it for a vacation, leaving it in the clear plastic as provided. When I went to wear the shirt on vacation, I discovered there was a tear in the back of the shirt and that the shirt was visibly dirty, meaning it had never been cleaned at all. Despite this, I was charged for the service, and the shirt had a tag and ticket number as if it had been properly cleaned. No one pointed out the damage at pickup. They simply bagged it and sent it home with me. Due to the nature of my work, I have used dry cleaners all over the country. I understand that occasional mistakes can happen, but what I experienced here is a consistent pattern of carelessness, poor quality control, and complete lack of accountability. I have not had a single good experience at this business. Lost items, damaged clothing, and charges for services that were never performed. If I could give zero stars, I would. I strongly recommend that no one bring their clothes here.

They do charge a one-time $1 fee to get the card initially, but as they probably take a hit from the credit card companies that seems fair, and my former laundromat didn't even offer the option so it was quarters city only.
