NY Spot Lite Cleaners is by far the worst dry cleaning business I have ever dealt with. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My longtime dry cleaners in Nyack closed down, which forced me to search for another local option. That is how I ended up at NY Spot Lite Cleaners. Unfortunately, that decision turned out to be a major mistake. Before getting into the issues, I want to be clear about something. I am the type of person who picks up dry cleaning and does not thoroughly inspect every item immediately. I also often do not wear items again until I actually need them. This has never been a problem for me in the past. I used the same dry cleaners in Nyack for years without a single negative experience, which is why I never felt the need to scrutinize my clothes at pickup. I have used this business three times since August 2025, and every single time there has been an issue. The first time, I picked up my clothes and later realized one of my favorite pairs of black flare pants was missing. After searching my entire home, I returned to the store and asked if they had a lost and found. The young female clerk went to the back and immediately found the pants, placed them in plastic, and handed them to me with no apology or explanation. When I got home, I noticed the pants were damaged beyond repair. There are red fibers embedded in the fabric that will not come off (see photo). These pants are ruined. It also makes me question why they were not returned to me with the rest of my order in the first place. The second time, I picked up another order and noticed an item was missing while I was still at the counter. The clerk reviewed the ticket, realized the mistake, and quickly retrieved the missing item. Once again, there was no apology. The final straw involved an expensive designer button up shirt. I brought it in to be dry cleaned, picked it up, and later packed it for a vacation, leaving it in the clear plastic as provided. When I went to wear the shirt on vacation, I discovered there was a tear in the back of the shirt and that the shirt was visibly dirty, meaning it had never been cleaned at all. Despite this, I was charged for the service, and the shirt had a tag and ticket number as if it had been properly cleaned. No one pointed out the damage at pickup. They simply bagged it and sent it home with me. Due to the nature of my work, I have used dry cleaners all over the country. I understand that occasional mistakes can happen, but what I experienced here is a consistent pattern of carelessness, poor quality control, and complete lack of accountability. I have not had a single good experience at this business. Lost items, damaged clothing, and charges for services that were never performed. If I could give zero stars, I would. I didn't even use the services of NY Spot Cleaners because I requested a price quote over the phone for laudering and ironing shirts. I was not prepared to pay $6 PER SHIRT. I found that price to be absurd. read more

My husband brought in dress slacks and a dress shirt to be dry cleaned. He pointed out the small wine droplets on the front of the shirt and sleeve. When he returned, to pick them up, the dress shirt (almost $200 @ Nordstrom last year) was ripped in the front as if it had gotten caught in some sort of machine. The wine droplets were gone, but she kept saying she didn't know what happened and offered no remedy whatsoever for the damage that occurred while the shirt was in their possession. It's too bad because I was fairly happy with the previous service. I'm not picky and don't expect miracles, but if you damaged my clothing, and I'm assuming by accident, at least acknowledge it and be willing to offer some sort of compensation. So, now I'm leaving a negative review and will warn everyone I know locally to avoid using their services. Business 101, stand behind your goods and services because your reputation is everything! I have never, ever, had a single thing to complain about. Week in and week out, my shirts are clean and pressed with just the right amount of starch. Dry cleaning is always fast and efficient. This place is located in the Stop and Shop plaza on route 59 in West Nyack. (about .5 miles from the palisades mall). I had the worst experience at this dry cleaner. They completely ruined a 3-piece formal dress my wife was able to wear ONCE and refused to make it right. Even better, their story as to what happened kept changing. First, they said that they tested the dress before dry cleaning the fabric and had no idea what went wrong. Then they said they had tested it, and based on the test, had decided to handwash the dress, which was DRY CLEAN ONLY. Following a round of exchanges where they kept saying "it's dry clean only" and us responding "yes, but you washed it!," they offered us a store credit worth half the value of the dress. My wife about lost her mind at this point and eventually threatened to call the cops when the woman behind the counter started seeking to dismiss us with "well, if you won't listen..." and tried to walk away. When she finally handed over a check worth partial value of the full expense of the dress, the woman argued that she should keep the dress to SELL IT. Yes, she literally told us that. Their orientation to the damages they caused us would have demanded that we 1) ignore them ruining an almost $200 dress, 2) pay them for ruining the dress (they did NOT waive the cleaning bill), 3) ignore that the dress was only partially addressed as the other 2 of the 3 pieces were still dirty (unfortunately, they ruined the main body of the dress), and 4) continue bringing them business as a returning customer. Had we not known about them handwashing our dry cleaning and they had just made things right, we probably would have completely forgiven the error - things happen. But between the gross dishonesty and lack of business ethics, we will NEVER go there again. read more
