I was dreading my move from NY to Lisbon, Portugal, and I was terrified after reading so many terrible stories of people that moved from the USA to Europe. I got coned by a company before finding Blue Horizon. I had my home of 3 bedrooms and my whole life packed up in boxes, and all my belongings needed to arrive in Lisbon in one piece. Initially, I spoke to so many other companies. But my radar was not happy. I couldn't possibly get myself involved with anybody that was not going to be professional and efficient. I found Blue Horizon. My first contact with blue Horizon was with Michelle, who was terrific. Michelle was the reason why I decided to go with this company. Moving is such a big deal, and I needed to talk to someone who understood how complex and challenging the process of moving is, physically and emotionally. I had another company that seemed nice, but Michelle put my heart at ease immediately. Thank God I Chose Blue Horizon. They are AMAZING!!!! From Michelle to David Rico to Antonio Neves to the crew in NYC and the Crew in Lisbon. I cannot tell you how pleased I am. This job was seamless. Professionalism, excellent customer service, efficiency, and honesty are some of their best traits. Not an ounce of attitude or difficulties with anyone from the team. I packed up my stuff myself because I wanted to make sure things were packed my way. If I had known how good they were, I would have left them to do all the packing. But regardless of the packing, they did a fantastic job. I got a 40ft container, and it was big enough I had extra room for more items. As you can see in the pictures, all boxes arrived in Lisbon intact. I had all my dishes and glassware in boxes. They arrived intact. Not one box was opened. They picked up all my belongings from storage in Brooklyn, NY, and delivered them to a warehouse in Lisboa. All I can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR DOING SUCH A GREAT JOB! For being professional and good people. I felt indeed taken care of. Not for one minute did I feel doubtful that my things were going to be mishandled or I was going to be taken advantage of. I usually don't write reviews, but I hope I can help someone with their decisions, the way other reviews helped me: I was very nervous about shipping our things overseas, because our items also had an emotional value, which I knew if they break, I couldn't replace them. My biggest thing was finding a company were I get the best deal (not the cheapest) for the quality I was looking for. After doing lots of research and being contacted by numerous companies which of course were trying to win me as a client, I went with Blue Horizon, and these are the reasons why: Michelle Gold was very professional and informative on the phone. Didn't seem pushy but very authentic. The price they offered was the best, the offer matched our needs and I read many positive reviews. I was always able to contact them if I had questions and they were always available and quick to reply. A packing crew came on the day we scheduled. They were professional, knew what they were doing, patient because I asked a million questions, and quick. Considering that a lot of parties are involved in this process, things can go wrong, but they didn't. We. received a tracking number, a week before the arrival we were contacted by the German company who handled our shipment here in Germany. I was still very nervous, but once we received our things, I was really impressed. I have to add that our container was x-rated after it arrived. I was told by the German company that this is a normal procedure (apparently every second or third gets checked) and would cost around 250 Euros. Due to this our container had to stay at the port an additional 3 days. Every day "parking fee" costs 50 Euros. This additional cost of around 400 Euros was not in the cost estimate. During my research I did read upon it and therefore wasn't surprised. Another thing the German authority needed here was some paperwork 1) proof that we lived outside the EU the past 12 months 2) a current proof of residency in Germany from the city hall 3) copy of passport. We also turned in our tax report as well statement that we sold our house. All in all I can say I wasn't expecting such a perfect delivery, but everybody involved was very nice and helpful. Our things were delivered in excellent condition. We went with a full container and it took a total of 5 weeks from door to door. I recommend this company highly. read more

If you're considering using Blue Horizon Shipping for your move, I strongly urge you to reconsider. While they may initially seem like the most affordable option, their pricing practices are misleading and ultimately predatory. What starts as a reasonable quote quickly escalates into hidden fees and unexpected costs, with little to no transparency. Throughout the process, I was repeatedly asked to re-submit the same personal information to different partner companies--none of whom seemed aligned or informed. It felt less like a streamlined service and more like being passed around between uncoordinated third parties, each one draining more of my time and energy. The most egregious issue happened at the final stage of delivery. As per the contract, I agreed to cover the cost of any parking permits required to unload the truck in my neighborhood. Based on local information, the most expensive park permit is €60-- I though maybe they would charge €200 with a generous markup. Instead, I was abruptly charged €450 by Blue Horizon's European partner. There was no itemized invoice, no explanation--just a flat, non-negotiable fee for less than an hour of parking. They refused to even schedule delivery until I paid this excessive charge. When I contacted Blue Horizon for support, I was met with complete indifference. My moving agent simply told me more or less "it is what it is" and offered no assistance or accountability. They handed off my belongings to a third party company in Europe, and didn't care how I was treated or what ridiculous fees were slapped on. This company showed no concern for fairness, no willingness to communicate transparently, and no basic human decency. They treated me not as a customer, but as a source of profit to be squeezed at every stage. I cannot recommend strongly enough: do not use Blue Horizon Shipping. The emotional stress, financial strain, and overall experience were not worth the initial savings. You deserve a moving company that treats you with honesty and respect--this is not that company. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Blue Horizon for our international move to Australia! I contacted over 10 companies and found their professionalism and quote was the best! I was in contact with Michelle and David and both were very helpful and knowledgeable. I was moving from Idaho which was a little more inland from the ports so they worked with me in finding an alternative to save some money and drive my belongings to Washington, which worked out great. David was able to tell me over the phone before packing our stuff up onto a moving truck that I probably had too much stuff and it wouldn't fit. This was very good and accurate advice. Had some really big boxes of sound equipment to ship out they are quite heavy so I worried that the price of the shipping was going too expensive , after doing some research I found Blue Horizon Shipping .
