Bruce was excellent and did his job well connecting us with a company to transport our car. He is highly responsive, professional, and communicative and I loved working with him. The only challenge I during this whole process was with the transport company themselves - they had agreed to a delivery period (after 8pm because my friend receiving my vehicle works full time) and the day before insisted my friend HAD to be available from 12-2pm to receive my car and they could not do any other time. They essentially forced my friend to take a day off - and on the day of delivery, the transport company kept running late and ended up delivering after 8pm anyway! Now they are farming out to India and getting call center calls. I called Bruce, easy to reach, no BS and very clear instructions on how the systems work. A breath of fresh air. Now the real part. Gave an estimate based on previous transport., said one or two days. Very detailed. 15 minutes later, I have a driver and would like to patch him in with details. Very rude and seemed focused primarily on getting his fee. We paid over $800 to get our car shipped, scheduled with Bruce from Above The Rest, and after scheduling we started getting a lot of snark and attitude from this guy. 1) He seemed annoyed that we didn't immediately answer every single phone call in the middle of the workday, even though we returned every single missed call we got from him. We all have crap to take care of, chill out. He said he wasn't getting personal with his clearly sarcastic remarks, but what was it then? 2) We asked for insurance information that would cover our vehicle during the course of transport, and what we got was a blurry, teeny tiny bitmap that I told him was illegible. He responded by telling me that was all he had what did I expect from him, followed by eventually providing the legible pdf file when I pressed the issue. 3) The guy he scheduled to deliver our car showed up at 11pm at night BEFORE the day originally scheduled for arrival. He pounded on our door so violently that we were ready to call the cops. It was pitch black at nearly midnight and the driver demanded cash on the spot, and wanted to unload the car in the black of night. We have very little streetlights in our area, it is woodsy and nearly impossible to see at that time, and he wanted to unload our vehicle in that darkness and to drive away with cash? Lol. 4) When we called Bruce back and demanded answers, he responded with "I don't control these drivers, what do you want me to do?" 5) Then they had this whole miscommunication issue about how the payment was to be accepted - the driver barely spoke English, shrugged at me and demanded cash while holding my keys hostage. We were told, IN WRITING, that Zelle was an acceptable payment method. We have evidence of written confirmation available for any Yelp reviewer curious about this guy's hilarious response after he read my review. Wow. Hell no would I recommend this place. Edit: It would seem not only is this a bad "businessman," but also a pathological liar. We have phone records of multiple conversations over the phone which he's now claiming we never had (lol), we SIGNED UP over the phone which he's claiming never happened (lol), along with plenty of evidence of me "yelling" (telling him in a perfectly normal manner) that the driver HE CHOSE has arrived at our door at 11pm banging on our door, haranguing our FROM location contact over the phone instead of our DESTINATION phone number (lol), confirming Zelle information that it seems he's now claiming he never told us was available (why the hell would we ask for Zelle if we didn't have Zelle??). Heaven forbid we wake him at "midnight his time" when WE are being harassed at 11pm TOTALLY outside our scheduled arrival time in pitch black night by someone who barely speaks English! Since he seems to be such a meticulous "businessman", let me add the other details that I didn't have time to add before in my original review about failure to initially provide LEGIBLE INSURANCE DOCUMENTS too. Maybe I should send him the screenshots in case he deleted them with bleach bit. Yeah, what a "businessman" LOL. Have fun with this one, people. Based on the majority of his reviews being 5-star, and his office being in the state that I was delivering my car to (he was very familiar with the destination), I decided to call Bruce @ Above the Rest. After reading about the transport process on his and other websites, I figured that he would just put my car on Central Dispatch (all the brokers and drivers use this) and I would have to wait days to get a driver to accept my auto. On our initial phone call, he immediately had a guy in mind who does the California to Florida route. 13 minutes later, he called back to confirm that driver was available, and within the hour, after a couple of more emails, everything was confirmed! I paid his broker fee, and that was the last I ever heard from him. No contract was signed, so was I concerned for the next 5 days before my car was picked up? Definitely was a bit stressful, especially after reading some of the 1-star horror reviews on other auto transport brokers... Enter Kartlosi K. of US Roads Inc. (Bensalem, PA). My auto pickup from San Francisco was flawless, and 5.5 days later, there it was at the final destination in central Florida! It might have been nice for Bruce to follow-up on my transport that he brokered, but I'm not gonna dock this review for that. Extremely happy with transport from Ohio to Florida. Bruce worked with me to set a good price on the load board so that a carrier would select my vehicle for shipment. Probably a hit/miss thing with respect to which carrier selects the vehicle and I assume Bruce cannot predict whether a carrier is good or bad. I had a good carrier who picked up and delivered more or less when they said they would. I suppose if things go wrong, then Bruce gets involved in explaining the process to get you covered for damage, but I fortunately did not experience this. Bruce did explain that "certified funds" were required at vehicle delivery (cash works well...I suppose a certified check also works but why bother if the vehicle is delivered in good condition? If the vehicle is not in good condition then no payment anyway...until repaired) Given all the scammers that tried to contact me for business (and still send me daily messages), I think you can do well with this company. read more

He's transparent, honest, and about half-price what others charge for the exact same thing: Finding a driver for you by bidding for a driver on the online website "CentralDispatch.com", and then making sure the driver and their truck meets your requirements. Every other transport company does the same thing: they bid for a driver. They don't own trucks, they just bid for driver's who already own trucks on "CentralDispatch.com" that are travelling on your route. Because I own a business that deals with autos, I was able to gain access to CentralDispatch to monitor what Bruce was doing. Sure enough, Bruce bid the exact price that we agreed on. I think a lot of companies out there will bid lower so that they make more money on the back end. But not Bruce. Furthermore, when I wanted to, he changed bids immediately after I asked. Bottomline: Bruce has low overhead, so he can charge less. He's honest, experienced, has good communication, and makes sure your needs are taken care of. I couldn't ask for anything more! read more

I worked with Bruce on my car move and he is the best! I'm in LA and the car was in Florida with some friends. The pickup window to get the car was very narrow due to some time constraints. To overcome this problem (and for a very reasonable fee) Bruce personally picked up my vehicle from in DelRay Beach Florida and then stored it securely for a couple days until the transport company picked it up. wow- what a fantastic experience I had with Above the Rest Auto. I started my search to transport my car from Chicago to AZ on yelp...looking up and contacting many companies for a quote. Bruce got back to me within an hour and discussed the possible options to transport my car. He also explained to me how/when the process works-- they are the brokerarage company that sets you up with a carrier company who transports the car. He also explained when the price fluctuates and by how much (i.e., starting November, the price goes up due to weather and changes in route options). He provided me with a competitve quote and answered all of my questions patienty ( how the servies will work, who gets paid and when, and the form of payment, etc). Snce I was still inquiring about prices and was flexible about my date, I told him that I will call him back when I'm ready to proceed. At no time did he pressure me into setting up a time for delivery. I obviously ended up going with Above the Rest. The carrier company they work with was also great- communicated with me about when and where to pick up (living in Chicago, streets are tight so we found a nearby empty parking lot). They told us when to expect the car, which was delivered on time with no issues. Overall, Above the Rest and Bruce in particular were absolutely wonderful to work with- polite, professional and very knowledgeable-- this is how a business should run and Above the Rest auto set the bar high. I contacted Bruce a week ago, to have my car shipped from Hayward, CA to Bowie, MD. After being hounded for weeks on end by different auto shipping carriers. I had a few quotes but the other companies had horrible reviews, and nightmare stories of cars never picked up or increased prices. I searched on Yelp and saw that Bruce had amazing reviews. I decided to take a chance and gave him a call on Friday. We talked in the morning and he assured me that he would get back to me and find a carrier. He explained how the process works and how a lot of carriers will low ball you and then charge you a huge price later. He quoted me at $1,000 which included his $100 fee and $900 due to the driver on delivery. We scheduled my car pickup for Tuesday. On Monday 8/7, I got a call from the carrier that they were in Oakland and they wanted to know if my car was ready for pickup. Everything went smoothly, I was expecting it to take at least 7 days for my car to get to Bowie, MD. Yesterday, I got a call from the driver that he was in TN and would drop off my car the next day. I haven't even left yet!!! I had to make arrangements with my friend in DC to have my vehicle dropped off at her house. You guys this was the fastest I have EVER had my car picked up and transported across the country! This entire experience was smooth and Bruce made himself available along the way. Thank you so much!
