I had a 90 minute hot stone massage with Ling Ling this past weekend. Today, I am feeling 100 percent better as I'm writing this review. I suffer from arthritis, bad knees and a frozen shoulder. I explained to Ling Ling the areas that were painful and she carefully massaged neck, shoulders and knees focusing on the pain points. The hot stones helped relax the muscles making the massage experience more comfortable. When I came in for my appointment I had trouble bending my left knee. When I left, I was able to bend my knee and even manage the stairs in the salon. After a couple of days, I can now sit comfortably with little to no pain in my body. Professional and knowledgeable therapist in Ling. My wife and I are up for a two night getaway and wanted to have massages. We opted to forgo the pricey Spa at the Resort and try an independent, local masseuse. After reading Ling's reviews we thought we'd give her a try. I called and got right in with two 60-minute massages the next morning (a Sunday, no less). While the facility is not as flashy and high-end as the Resort Spa (but who really cares anyway - your eyes are closed the entire time), the therapy is 5 star all the way. It was quiet, light music playing, and smelled just like a high end Spa. For the price, you can't go wrong. We will definitely be return customers every time we make it up for a getaway. Let me start by saying I have had hundreds of massages. Most of them in the greater Long Beach area. I have also had them when I am out of town at the different hotels I've stayed at. I have stayed at some great hotels where the massages are triple the price I paid here. I must have driven by this place for years before finally calling for a massage appointment. I was able to get a 90-minute time slot. I arrived and was greeted by a lady named Ling. I liked the place and its ambiance. During the massage Ling asked me some questions about any pain or sore spots I was experiencing. She is a good listener because she then proceeded to work on these areas. OMG, she has a gift of hands. I think she is a chiropractor, acupressurist and massage therapist all wrapped up into one. She definitely has mastered the art of body healing. Ling is top notch. I have not had a better massage in my lifetime and I have had hundreds of them. Earlier in 2018, I was rear-ended and since then my back and hips had been all jacked up. I had been to doctors, physical therapists, Pilates classes, acupuncture, youtube videos on how to get the tension to release so I can relieve the pain and stiffness. It wasn't until I receive the best therapeutic massage from Ling that my L-5 vertebra was able to go back into proper position. I have not felt this good since Jan 2018. It's like I have my life back. Thank you, Ling. You just earned a customer for life. The reason for my average score comes from the customer service availability and not the work done on my back. First, the little clock showing Ling will be back at like 1pm is always there- it was confirmed that it's there as a deterrent from the fact she doesn't want ppl to enter unless by appointment/her dog yelps.... so this means she is often there but turns away ppl. So though this was a minor issue- it first made me think that the place wasn't in operation. So, I called - got just the answering machine. A day later, Ling tells me that she can schedule a meeting. I arrive and everything is fine with her service and even scheduled for another meeting two weeks later - though, I came out sore for a few days. Here is where the biggest issue I have with the service: two weeks is a long time in this crazy busy world: and most salons and massage therapists usually (for good reasons) text or call their clients the day before an appointment to remind their client and confirm. This didn't happen. And so, bad on my part I got mixed up with the day and time.... so she calls my phone 30 mins after our appointment and roughs says I missed the appointment.... okay. Sure. My apologies- when I get the message, I immediately call back (10 mins right after her call to tell me this) and sure enough, I get a message machine and I left a message. Since then, never heard anything back from her. Now I got the impression that she has a lot of valuable long term clients and doesn't have any problems supporting her business- that's great- but on the other hand cherry picking clients and not facilitating good customer service gives off a very negative impression. read more

I have had a lot of body work done over the years to help ease the pain of my fibromyalgia and arthritis and just for the pure, unadulterated pleasure I get from them. Ling is the best massage therapist I have ever experienced. She is incredibly intuitive, goes straight to the problem area even though I haven't told here where it is. Her touch is just right, I usually like to have it pretty deep and she does that well, but senses when areas are in too much distress and wouldn't react well to deeper massage and eases off. I like that she knows more than I do what my body needs. She is Chinese, and learned her craft in China and compliments modern massage with some ancient techniques, a wonderful combination. Got a couple's massage in the Couple's room yesterday. It was great! Dennis obviously has a lot of experience in treating people. He made me feel very comfortable (which is extremely important for a male therapist). Making an appt was relatively easy once I got passed the confusion. I asked for a massage for 2 at the same time. Dennis said he didn't have any but he can do one after another. I said that my companion would prefer a female therapist. He said they can do both at 2. Maybe I misunderstood. Doesn't matter, I got what I wanted. I was a little intimidated by Dennis when I saw his arms. But, he was very much able to give me a gentle touch where I needed it, along with some good pressure points. He worked very well with my breathing. He matched my rhythm so effortlessly. All I had to do was breathe. It was amazing! He did a combination of swedish with some acupressure, which was exactly what I needed. I didn't have to say a word the whole time. There was very minimal disconnection between his hands and my body for the entire hour. I really appreciated that. I spent the whole hour somewhere between asleep and awake. He focused a little extra in the areas that I asked. He did not massage my glutes, stomach or chest. Not sure if that was because of time constraint or because I didn't request it, or if they just don't do it. I like to have those areas included in a full body massage, but I know with one hour and having asked for a little extra attention elsewhere, I didn't bother asking for it. If those areas are important to you, it may be worth it to ask. Most places exclude those areas from the typical one hour massage unless you request it. But, be respectful of the time allowed. It's difficult to do a full body massage in one hour, if you need them to focus on problem areas, do yourself a favor and get 90 minutes. One thing that I really loved was that our massages actually lasted 60 min and not 50, like some places. They really took their time and did a great job. I must try 90 minutes next time! read more

Since our first review, we've been back to the Spa several times. Dennis is gone, but Ling continues her exceptional work. Our adult daughter - who works in the medical field - came to visit and after having Ling's massage she said it was the most professional and technically expert massage she's ever had (and she gets a lot of massages!). I am writing this update because of the comment by one of the reviewers that Ling was inappropriately flirtatious. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I have a Ulnar Nerve Entrapment syndrome, I also drive my bike everyday which is not arranging my pain everyday. I recently moved out in Cedar Pine Park near Blue Jay, I found Blue Jay Spa by recommendation, I was not so trustful in massage therapy and wanted first to see a surgeon. Denis, took care of my back and my elbow while performing acupressure directly after I told him what was the problem. What did impress me in the first place is how Denis got into my problem with the right diagnosis and also did recommend me what I have to do to resolve my problems with my nerves and the stress which was also a big factor of pain. Denis told me what I had to do ulteriorly following his treatment, as to see also a chiropractor . I am very glad for having Denis to take care of my problem, he is honest and I have been impressed by his quick diagnosis. This is why I will always keep going with him whatever the fees are expansive or not, even if I may found cheaper or not I will always see Denis as my Massage therapist. Denis is honest, simple and he goes straight to the point and I have been aware directly about my Ulnar problem which did help me to make some research online on my own, it did save me time, money and now I feel better and safe for knowing what I have to do. My husband and I had a couples massage here on Valentine's Day this year (I just realized I forgot to review them!). I made last minute plans for Valentine's Day in the area and had difficulty finding a spa to squeeze us in for a couples massage. The Blue Jay Spa was able to do that!!! I was a little hesitant as there wasn't a lot of reviews for their spa on the web, but my god did I make the right choice! I've gotten several massages in the past from facilities of all shapes and sizes but this was by far one of the top massages I've ever had. My neck, back, and shoulders were super tight from working (I sit at a computer 8+ hours a day) and Dennis managed to get all the knots out (and trust me there were tons!). His touch was just phenomenal. My husband had the female masseuse. My husband is a pretty burly guy and from his account she was able to work out all the tension is his muscles. We both left happy campers. In regards to the actually spa, it's a smaller independently owned establishment so don't expect the pomp you might get at a bigger spa but the massage therapists are great and the prices are very reasonably. For the price and quality of the massage you'll be much happier going here than anywhere else in and around Lake Arrowhead (seriously drive the 15 or so minutes from lake arrowhead to go here!). I am a therapist in LA County Beverly Hills to be exact. My experience with this day spa with very strange. From a scale to 1 - 10 I would give this place a 6. The girl I had her name was ling. This girl talk the whole massage probably woulda gave her a couple more points but she would not stop talking I feel that she is very unethical because all she did was talk about her other clients and their problems. I also felt very uncomfortable because all she kept talking about how big my muscles are what a great body I have I find it very inappropriate and I found her also flirting. As a therapist especially a male you do not do these things it is very unethical the massage was good but she was very inappropriate. I have been to many massage places and the only ones that flirt with you or talk about your body are usually the ones that do other types of massages that are inappropriate also. Not saying she does but the red flags are there. I will not go back to this place because I was uneasy and uncomfortable.. her draping was very loose I felt like she could see everything. When someone walked in the door she actually left the room to see who it was. There was a dog that also greeted me with a bark and was also whining upstairs. I found this place all in all not a good place. You never leave your client unattended for any reasons and I find this place poor. read more
