Booked a last minute hour massage yesterday with my friend and we both loved our massages :) Michael massaged me and focused on some of my problem areas without me even telling him, he just knew! Very impressive. The prices are also very reasonable. The only downside is that the room is not private, you'll possibly be in the same room as other clients. They also did not ask whether we preferred firm or light technique, so I would just verbalize your preference before starting. My sister chose a back neck and shoulder with reflexology massage; but, I witnessed when Vicki rubbed her stomach and push her sternum which I thought was odd for the type of massage requested. This massage place is located in the heart of Old Town Yucaipa, charming indeed. There's side street parking and signs show there's parking in the rear. We had call in to make reservations so we were seen right away. We did package B foot massage. It consisted of 30 minutes foot massage and 30 minutes upper body including head/scalp, neck, shoulder and back. For my massage I felt like it was good during the head and scalp portion. I guess she was feeling something because she really worked the back of my head. As for my legs I wished she used a bit more pressure. I was sadden when one leg got more attention than the other as far as techniques goes. I loved that as I got done and was putting my shoes back on she asked if I wanted water and got me some even though it was self serve in the front. That was very kind of her. I booked a couples massage for 11am Sunday the 31st. When we got there we were told they don't open until 12. But they still booked me for 11am. The "old man" as he was referred to let us in and put us in a room and had us get ready said they would be there sometime soon. Once we're ready and laying in the bed another man says he cannot do the massages until 12 because he's there by himself. He claims the other man is "old and confused" I'm upset at that as we had a whole day planned. So we get dressed move some plans around and come back at noon and the old man says he can't see us til 1pm now. He was unapologetic, he says he also works at another location that opens earlier so he messed up at booking me but still couldn't accommodate us. An apology goes a long way in these situations but none was given and I have always loved this place but I do not think I'll be coming back. read more

Just wished the spa used breathable cotton blankets or cotton sheets to cover you, not the fleece blankets that feel icky once you have lotion on and causes you to sweat uncomfortably because synthetic fleece blankets don't breath, clump when wet, don't absorb the sweat and lotion. Came here to get facials with my sisters. It was 40 bucks each for a 50 min facial. We were all in the same room and they start by putting different creams on your face, then they put a mask on while they massage your neck and arms a little bit. They leave you for about 10 min for the mask to finish drying then they come and pull it off, place more creams on your face and it's all done! It was pretty relaxing. My last time I was here was 5 years ago. I thought I would give them another try. I had the combo massage 30 mins foot, 30mins body. They had me change into this strapless spa/bath cover(which smelled like scented body lotion or perfume). You leave your pants on and lay on the upholstered rectangular low table. The foot massage was just ok.She just rubbed but didn't do any pressure points. During the massage i was covered with this soft but itchy blanket. The 30 min "body massage" was really only half body and was again, just stroking the back no real massage. After it was over, I watched as she folded the blanket back onto the bottom of those upholstered massage tables in the main area. When I was done I had red itchy blotches on my chest, arm and shoulders from that blanket. read more

Not a relaxing environment at all. When I went into the room, I noticed there was no music or scents, like essential oils, and I thought when the masseuse came in, she would turn on the music. She did not. I could hear the manager on the phone with a customer resolving a customer service issue, then I hear the gentleman in the room next to me talking the ear off his masseuse. I mentioned to the lady that I would like to get my phone and play some soundscapes to drown out the noise. Unfortunately, she did not speak English and went and got the manager. He comes and I tell him that I could hear his entire conversation and I can hear the conversation of the guy next-door and this is not relaxing. He notices that the music is off and turns it on. The music is so low that you can barely hear it and each of the rooms do not touch the ceiling so there's about a 5 inch gap all the way around. So I put my soundscapes on in efforts to drown out the talkative man next-door to no avail. For the next 20 minutes, he is still chatting up his masseuse, when he gets ready to leave I felt a sigh of relief that at least the last half of my massage will be in peace. Boy was I wrong, he went to the front and he and the manager continue to chat for the next 20 minutes. Loudly laughing and talking about medical ailments and his entire life story. It was not the masseuses fault, and she did a good job. But the environment was definitely not calm or relaxing. I get ready to leave and I stop at the front where the masseuse is waiting for her tip. I give her the tip because again this was not her fault. I go to pay and the manager asks if the music helped, and I told him no and I just repeated his entire conversation to which he said, "well yeah the guy was loud and wouldn't leave. Guess he was lonely." He then proceeded to charge me the full amount offers no resolution to the horrible experience. Will never go back again. I love Charming! I've been going there for years. Can't beat the price. They have become very popular over the last couple of years, so call ahead for an appointment. IMO, the best deal is the 80 minute Head to Soul massage. 60 minutes is just not enough! If you opt for that massage in the group room, make sure to wear very loose clothing because you will be wearing it during your massage. Unless you pay extra for oils then they give you a hospital gown to change into and you can wear that in the group room while getting your massage. I have always found Charming to be clean and very professional. I have booked a private room massage in the past, but because I like to get massages frequently, I find that the group room massages fit my budget better. The main difference is that in the private room you can specify which areas you want them to focus on. You are able to customize your massage. Whereas in the group room, they have a routine that they follow for your massage. If you have any special instructions about your massage make sure to let the man at the front desk who checks you in know when you arrive, because most of the therapist do not speak English. They do appear to understand body language, so if during your massage you want the pressure to be harder or softer, just tell them. If you do not want them to massage a certain area (i.e. your rotator cuff), just point & say no. They seem to understand 1-2 word phrases. They are also open pretty late which is great! We went here 3 times previously, an okay experience, no complaints. Price is right, message was good. We scheduled a 90 minute, for my wife and I together. Showed up as we did before, and we're told they did not have a room for two people together, we would have to be in separate rooms, as a matter of fact. At this point, they clearly didn't have an open room with two tables, that's okay, but don't make it my fault.....the customer, who's bringing you business, parking my car in your lot making it look like people go there...tipping your workers, and have an attitude....just really....off putting, also, not the kind of treatment I want to receive before I go take my clothes off? Idk, want to be welcomed in, and be made to feel completely comfortable. If I'm at the gas station, I don't expect much. Right? Then he says, I'll make the girls go get this other room ready, it'll take 5 minutes...(really? I tried this place after my parents went a few weeks ago. I was okay with the experience except the Hospital gowns they have us wear just don't seem clean. They are oily and heavy feeling. The first one that I was given smelt like sweat. It was really gross. I do also want to mention that my parents tried this place out a few weeks before I did and they had a horrible customer service experience. My parents are retired and live off a fix income. At the end of their massage they provided the massage ladies with a $5 tip each and in front of everyone, they demanded a $10 tip and said they had to pay that amount. My parents said they paid in full the posted cost for the massage and a tip amount should always be at the discretion of the customer and its very rude to DEMAND a certain tip amount. Thought the place would be busy because of Valentine's but it was very quiet at 7pm. No clients. Later on after my 80 min massage, a couple walked in. Anyway... I decided to do the 30 mins foot soak & massage which comes w/ back, neck, arms, shoulders massage (total of 80 minutes for $60). Amy massaged me. Richard, the co-owner, greeted me and led me to the changing area where he handed me a hospital gown to change. Opening on the back for easy access when your masseuse massages your back. Last week I did the private room for 60 min/$60 . I love my feet soaked in warm water while getting my scalp, neck, shoulders and arms getting down so I opted for this one. Very relaxing. They didn't have anyone at 7:15 pm so I had the open space to myself. I even dozed off while she was massaging my feet. Keep in mind that when they do your feet, they wear gloves but when they work on the rest of your body, they use their hands without the gloves. Anyway, I was so relaxed that I dozed off during the feet massage. Another couple came in just as my massage was ending. I can tell Amy was trying to make sure the hospital looking-gown was on me and not half-assed naked when I get up. She carried my clothes and shoes and led me to the room next door to change back to my clothes. She was so sweet. I plan to bring a group of 4-5 people next time. read more

Both my wife and I work stressful jobs and this is one of our favorite things to do to unwind. The $25 sole and back massage is great and easy to get appointments or walk in slots any day. You don't have to get undressed for the sole and back and they start from head to toe, then back again. Working out the knots as well as many other spots in between.
