I learned that they made their own root beer and love their cocktail names. We wanted to try some more of their menu but had a sudden food spot as I got really hungry on the way there but that just gives us a reason to come back! Our bartender Shana was very patient and sweet to us as we were looking over the menu and she told us that we can ask her any questions if we come across any. We ordered a Root 84 classic for the time being as we weren't sure if we were going to order anything else as we were stuffed. But they had a sweet deal going on Sunday which was $5 pizza slices or $6 for their pizza of the week. Additionally, they had karaoke about to start when we had arrived. We couldn't stay for that as well as we drove from Washington and were very tired, but my boyfriend said he would be so down to go back on a karaoke night to sing some of his favorite 80s songs. I loved seeing all their different 80s arcade games as I have never seen any of those games as I was born in 1993 so it was really cool to see some early arcade machine designs as well as the pinball machines too. The vibes inside are dark with neon lights which I really love and they had a retro menu sign inside the bar. Mars was the owner who came to introduce us to the place and directed us to the bar as well. When he saw me taking several pictures, he came to tell us how Arcade 2084 came to be and the hard work he and his staff put into making this place come alive. He was very sweet and you could tell how passionate he was to preserve this place and the beauty of the 80s. Definitely worth visiting if you come to Oregon, check our their website and social media for their current events or specials!

When we came it was kinda empty for a Saturday night but it was raining. I really enjoyed the popcorn and Jell-O shots at the secret bar all the way in the back. You should try it out yes

The place was noisy & almost full of diners, dancers, wanna be dancers & looky loos. Definitely busy, but booths & tall tables with tall seats available. We wandered upstairs, which included round tables & chairs, a pool table & other game platform. Thinking we may not get food service too soon up there, we went downstairs & chose a booth. We both ordered the Coulotte/Top Sirloin meal with steamed broccoli & "the works " baked potato. My steak was cooked as ordered (medium rare), but too dark with char on the surface for my liking. When mentioning the situation to our server, she said that was the usual level of char but offered a couple of options for me to choose from for resolution. The broccoli was steamed properly & the "loaded" baked potato was great! Overall, our meals were very good & the wait staff also did an awesome job as well!!

First off the table was dirty and smelled like old mayonnaise and so I wiped it down with our hand sanitizer. Second off was the dirty glass of water with old crusty pulp -I ordered a replacement. Third but not least was the dirty sauce covered napkin which held my utensils and I got a replacement. But looking forward to the tasty ribs we were used to kept us sitting. The ribs which used to be smoked for hours and had a great tender taste was replaced..see the trend lol. They were tough dry and tasted like they were previously boiled and reheated on a grill and lightly sauced. the last bite I took had me chewing til I napkined it . The corn bread was good. The sweet potato fries were very limp and the bourbon baked beans tasted very different from what we were used to.it seems to me like they either have a new cook or none at all and have the wait staff heating things up. Either way we paid our overpriced meager meal without complaint and went about our day and never to return. We will remember how things used to be and realize why business that afternoon was so slow with customers.I thank you for your time and get out and eat

But I'll go into more about that later. Here's why I would choose Blue Ox for entertainment versus the others: First of all, the bar/restaurant is located in the heart of old school downtown Hillsboro. It's mostly street parking, but there is a parking lot and garage nearby. I'll just say, I've always been lucky finding parking next to the place. Upon entering, you'll notice they've got a dining area well large enough to accompany and entertain big groups. Past that is an open area for cornhole and couches for lounging, and a lovely bar after that. It's surprisingly huge! I mean, I haven't even mentioned the throwing lanes yet lol. But yeah, just past the bar area, they've got about 8 or 10 throwing lanes. Here's why Blue Ox stands out to me... ~ We met up with manager (possibly owner), Lonnie, who first took our food order and he explained a bit about Fat Baby Barbecue that provides the food for the space they share. The Q was really tasty and worth a try if you're hungry for some smoky-meaty goodness. ~ After eating, over at the lanes area, Lonnie discussed the rules and showed my team the basics on how to throw. But here's the cool part... Each lane had a remote control to choose what games you want to play. It's not just a big red and white target you throw at, but the targets are projected onto the board and it keeps score for you. I'm sure it's not a new concept, but this I've never done a other axe throwing places. ~ But here's the best kicker of all! They let us try their fancy throwing knives and ninja stars. Again, another feature I've never done at others. We all had a blast using these. So overall, in short, if you need an entertaining date night. Or need a spacious venue that provides decent barbecue and bar food for your family or workmates, then this is your place. Come check it out!

But I worry about the kitchen cleanliness... if the floor is any indication... then... When Robert runs the KJ booth, you're going to have a good time! EVERY TIME!! He's got a large catalogue of music, but could do more to be on top of new music releases, as compared to other KJ Hosts. When Colt is there??? Enter at your own risk! He's so moody, and off-putting, there's usually no one singing, or like me I'll come see it's him, maybe stick around to sing 1 song and then leave. He takes too many breaks, he clearly has favorites, he doesn't seem to know how to set up a que , and also run a ticker at the bottom of his screen so people can know where they are in the line up... he actually will tell you to Go Away! He already saw you, and put your name in. Tell him your song when you're called. Then on another night, you make eye contact, and you don't want to get barked at, so you don't approach with your name... and then 2 hours goes by. There are only 5 singers, so you do approach and you're told that you're not ever going to sing if you don't tell him that you want to!!! This Guy?!?! Colt, you want to be tipped, so why are you so rude? I've asked you this question several times before. At least try. Anne now to the FILTH - The bathrooms! Awful! Usually not tended to, in an entire evening, as there isn't a body available to do so! Many peeps use neighboring establishment's facilities instead... The interior at Pyzano's was filthy dirty and begging for updates in 2010!! This place is Never Deep Cleaned. It's barely surface cleaned and vacuumed! BRING HAND SANITIZER! And WIPES or MIC COVERS, (available on Amazon) for Karaoke mics! The windows, floors, seats, table tops, mirrors and other wall accessories are layered in either thick dust, or sticky, germy, grime. The carpet has been worn so thin in areas, that it's torn and is hazardous! When you approach Pyz, you're slapped in the face with dirty, greasy finger-printed windows and doors.. PLEASE, just WASH YOUR WINDOWS AND DOORS!! It's not hard, just takes elbow grease if you're unable to pay for a service contract. Take pride in your business! Clean it up!! My neighborhood friends gather here. It's in my backyard. I want to bring more people, but several have been grossed out and won't come back. I'd like them to come back?! Wouldn't you, Ra?!
