We have many local sports bars near us, for a few years now we have visited the Bull Mountain Bar and Grill. The most recent owner has brought a very friendly and inviting atmosphere, even if he's a Charger fan, I will not hold that against him. My friends and I visit it at least 3-4 times a month, its a very laid back, clean setting with plenty of seating options, from bar stool, to bartop tables, for small and large groups. They have many TV's throughout the building, they also have a small patio for outdoor seating. For those that enjoy video poker they have a few machines near the restrooms, they also have dart board section and two good sized pool tables. We typically stop by to catch a football game, with some many TV viewing options its one of our local go to spots. I really appreciate the staff being open to turning up the volume on their TV's, it makes such a difference when you are watching a sporting event. The menu may seem basic but has some great options, from the wings, fried pickles (for me a must try), many sandwich and burger options, breakfast on weekends (I need to come try) they have specials on a board near the bar area. I have not had anything that I did not like. My favorite item is pictured below, the Spicy Press Wrap, you can order it with pork or chicken with caramelized onion, bell peppers and jalapenos, pressed flat with melted cheese, OMG its amazing, very large portion of good on top of that your choice of fries, onion rings, tots or upgrade to a salad. I usually eat half or split it with my friends. I had the chicken version, it's so good. The menu pricing is very reasonable. read more

A spacious neighborhood style bar that is open a bit later on the weeknights. You can enjoy some billiards and a couple arcade machines or just watch some TV. We were looking for a night cap and this place was still open. They have a decent selection of bourbon and other drinks to choose from. I'm curious to try their food next time. read more

Very fun and we need to go back!! We went for the pool tables, but there was only 2 and both full, but electric darts was available for $2 and the darts were in good shape (another bar near by gave use the most ridiculously broken darts to use). Great neighborhood Bar & Grill. I've been a resident of Tigard for only a few weeks but have already returned here twice. I've had both the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and also their Breakfast Burrito. Both items were delicious and very filling. They offer a wide variety of beers on tap and have a full bar. The restaurant/bar was very clean and all 3 times I've been in the Bartenders were pleasant and quick to follow up when my beer was getting low. I'll definitely be back soon! I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing place to sit back and enjoy something to eat with a cold one (or two). :) P.S. UPDATE: I am updating my previous 2 star review with a 1 star review. Disappointment GALORE! I recently posted a review that I'd been meaning to do forever and quickly received a pleasant email from the business indicating that things had really changed, and I should come check it out again. In all fairness, my review was based on my experiences here a few years ago before I decided to quit coming in due to the reasons I listed in my review (dog, owners who don't step up, overly familiar patrons, and lackluster food at high prices). The email they wrote me encouraging my return carried a tidbit of info that was THE DECIDING FACTOR of my return. The kitchen genius initially behind Fireside Grill, was now working at Bull Mountain. That did it. My hubby and I wanted a fun lunch out celebrating some good fortune and I suggested we try it out again. Bummer choice on my part. We got there just as he left (the chef) we later learned from our server. Apparently, we should have, too! Ordered a sandwich off the chalk board specials (Autum Melt) and hubby ordered chili nachos. My sammy was the first taste of disappointment. It was not melty, it was not warm, but it was slathered in cream cheese and I couldn't taste anything else so I tried my other half's lunch thinking it can't be as yucky as mine. I was wrong! Whole dish was so cold and so poorly constructed we questioned if we received the wrong dish . You can see in the photos I took that it wasn't warm enough to melt the miniscule shreds of cheese on top! Honestly, was shocked at how unpleasant a cold scoop of chili slapped on some chips could be! Given that the owners asked me back it felt like someone was playing an evil joke on us! Really. So we kindly ask the server who takes it back to the nameless dude in the kitchen (who apparently doesn't give a rat's ass about quality). Dish returns to us exactly as it was when we sent it back. WTF? Still cold, but with raw jalapenos?? At this point, lunch is ruined, so we take time to explain that we came specifically because of Jay and email from owner and then she tells us Jay left when we got there. I sweetly relay my sad story when she says, come back for brunch, it's great! I WON'T BE! Server dropped the ball, as we made it clear we weren't pleased. Insult to injury was that the owner was on site, getting a ladder to do something on the roof, so server could have at least apologized for our misfortune, or comped the nachos, or spoken with owner. Nothing. As for the chef, if this is what happens when he's not at the helm, he needs to know it. read more

We're one of those annoying Portland-area couples who insist on taking their kids everywhere. I mean, everywhere. We also love good beer and are picky foodies, so while we like trying pretty much every new place under the sun, there are only a few spots we regularly visit, especially living in outer SW Portland as we have for the past few years. Recently we were thrilled to learn about Bull Mountain Bar & Grill, which opened at the start of this year and is located off 99W in Tigard. The place is a decent size, with large flat screen TVs adorning two walls, a decent beer list, GREAT service, and what I think is a fantastic food menu. When I go to a bar & grill, I want good pub food, not an itty bitty salad for $12, thanksmuch. Don't get me wrong, I love itty bitty salads, but I'd rather make them at home or get those when I'm drinking wine or cocktails. With solid beer, I want solid food, and everything we ordered here was delicious. My husband ordered the Cowboy Quesadilla, which was awesome. The quesadilla consisted of chicken, bacon, onion rings (oh yeah), jalapenos, cheese, (did I mention bacon?!) served with tasty salsa. YUM. I ordered the fish & chips and was super happy with the HUGE three filets I was served, along with fries, tartar sauce and shredded lettuce. I was happy that this place had a dedicated kids menu. We got the kids chicken tenders, but they also offer grilled cheese, cheeseburgers, cheese quesadillas and other kid versions of pub food. The owner was super friendly. Can't say enough nice things about him. Sometimes even in supposedly kid-friendly places, the management or staff don't know how to work with kids around, and in this place we totally felt comfortable with the kids. He made our kids feel welcome, which made me smile. Kids are welcome before 9pm, so after that I can see this place being a fun bar to hang out with friends when we can get a sitter. I got their spin on crab cakes egg benedict. Perfect! Eggs perfect, crab cakes were some of the best, even the hash browns were perfect (crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle). Good luck getting any service, if your aren't a "regular." Just the attitude of the bartender's will make you run out of there.

Been here a couple dozen times (more like 50), always order their margarita which used to be great in taste and value (often at happy hour). It was $5.50 for a well rita last time we went in (Jan 2018). Today, you get a well rita and it costs $7.00 at happy hour. It is also now watered down and the bill reads Margarita $3.00 Plus Well tequila $4.00 total = $7.00--huh? I don't mind paying $7 for a rita at a restaurant or a fancy pants bar, but this is a dive bar and why did the price increase by nearly 30%? Perhaps it's new staff? Not sure, but seems like highway robbery to me. Food is pretty good, but always a bit pricier than other dive bars in the area (which have even better food and $5ritas). Used to be a lot better.... unfortunately, it's not the same! read more

Ordered double vodka Red Bull and a chicken wrap. Drinks were weak and chicken wrap didn't have any chicken in it except a few little pieces. Paid $35 for 2 drinks and a lettuce wrap (minus the chicken). Gets one star for being clean and server was good at her job, otherwise cost was high and food/drinks were unacceptable. read more

BMBG Owners: My family has frequented your restaurant for the past several years. We initially found you on a night when we were hunting for a good burger and were enroute to travel to Eclptic Brewing to get one. Checking Yelp we opted to stay close to home and check you out. Needless to say we're we hooked from that first Old Timer. Hands down it was the best burger in town. That was four years ago. Until the last six months or so, the quality of the food, consistency of the servers and overall atmosphere was a reliably wonderful experience.  But something happened earlier this year and things haven't been the same since. A few months ago my family had come in for dinner and my husband ordered his favorite - half pork nachos.  After eating we returned home. Within a few hours he was quite ill. We concluded the following day that it was food poisoning. It wasn't until he spoke to a fellow colleague who was also out ill the following day that we were able to pinpoint the issue.  It turned out that they had both (unbeknownst at the time) had come to BMBG and eaten the pork nachos. Following this incident, we were slow to return to your restaurant. We have come less than once every six weeks (we had been there once every ten days for prior years since discovering you).  I have noted how quiet the restaurant has been, the inconsistent staff and increased wait times for service outside the bar.  Thursday night my family came in and I have to say, it's the last time we will be there until some serious changes are made.  My husband ordered the Philly Dip - our former favorite French dip sandwich. The beef was spoiled. Not just a little past prime, rather so spoiled we were both ill from having eaten it. My sons Old Timer was overcooked, under seasoned and the beef too had the distinct flavor of having been in the refrigerator far too long.  My Blackbird was dry, the bread stale and the bacon had this very strange texture that made it difficult to eat.  Only my daughters potato skins were palatable.  I don't know the server who helped us but she was both inattentive and extremely slow. For $70, I would expect more.  For the record, all three of us were sick by that night and into the next evening. Please, bring back the old cook and figure out these food issues.  We raved about the food from our favorite neighborhood spot and want to come back. I went to this bar with a handful of colleagues after work. My friend and I each ordered a drink and items from the happy hour menu at the bar, and sat down where we wanted at her request. As the bartender did not ask for credit cards for a tab, she was not able to keep track of the items we ordered as our work friends continued to come in and order. Some time later, another friend of mine and I each asked for our checks from our server, a different bartender. When I told her I had ordered a beer and chicken strips from the happy hour menu (so she would know which order was mine), she told me that since I didn't have a tab, other items that had been ordered after mine were also on my tab. She would have to bring the bill to me so I could tell her what I didn't order. I don't want to tell a bartender what I didn't eat or drink; it's their job to know what a customer has ordered. I took more issue with the fact that she said this to me in a tone that that seemed to speak down to me; the look on the faces of my colleagues confirmed my thought. Maybe she realized that the situation was confusing since another bartender had not documented my order? Maybe it was because I was the only person of color in my group, and in the whole bar? The condescending attitude of the server at my table tells me my business is not wanted. In the end I went to the bar myself and asked to remove two items from my bill that someone else had ordered. There are a number of strip-mall sports bars in Tigard; I have been to Tapphoria and Home Turf Sports Bar and Grille a couple of times (both very close by), and have had better experiences at both locations. read more

My partner and I were out riding our motorcycles and decided to stop in and see what's up at this new restaurant in our town of Tigard, where there isn't too much of a restaurant selection. We are always hopeful when a new restaurant opens! It is quite obvious that Bull Mountain Bar & Grill is a sports bar with all the tvs, beer, lack of ambiance, wood tones, carpet, and scattered sports banners given to them by the Budweiser rep. We sat at the bar, with an open mind. The crowd is upper-middle class Baby Boomers...lots of Chardonnay was flowing! A great crowd of people! This is what was puzzling to me...after my meal, I decided that there is just NO other place for these people to gather...the other sports bars in Tigard are further into Tigard; Bull Mountain is very near its' namesake. We were greeted virtually immediately but did not get our water until about 10 minutes later...our meal was served about 30 minutes after we arrived! There was no music playing nor was the volume up on any of the tvs! So we were all dining with only the sound of people talking. People seemed to be having a good time and a lot of people knew each other...that was nice to see. The food, and I am being kind, was horrible. I had the turkey burger. It arrived cold--the "melted" cheese had re-hardened, the burger had NO mustard or sauce on it, nor was I offered any type of spread to enhance the meat! The shredded lettuce kept falling OUT of the bun...it was a boring meal. Typically sports bars are known for their delicious ham/chicken burgers...but this one was so dry, cold, boring, I wanted to cry. The staff were extremely disorganized and seemed to have NO system of connecting the tab to the customer, when it came time to pay! There was not a designated bar tender...everyone on their staff was making drinks and bussing tables, taking orders, and then serving up the cold food! To me, it felt like a frat party! The quality of the drinks and food were below average. I love sports bars...Helvetia Tavern, Max's Fanno Creek Brew Pub, Stanich's, etc...but Bull Mountain Bar and Grill is one I will never return to. What kind of owner or "friend of the owner(s)" decides to message an individual customer by calling them a liar and then proceeds to block further communications? The only place in town that I have found Firestone Walker on tap! Absolutely a wonderful beer. Great place, friendly staff. Mark the owner is great. Seems to be there every other time I stop in. Great bar area but is family friendly. I bring my 3 year old daughter in there to get food with me. The menu will expand eventually but has good pub food. While there is not a section for kids, they are able to come in and sit with you at the tables. Great TV selection for watching sports or whatever is on. Games in the back part for playing around. Great Honey pulled pork special sandwich. Bull Burger is good too. My daughter likes the kids chicken strips. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! Came here with my boyfriend and a friend on Cinco de Mayo trying to avoid the crowds and enjoyed some really delicious margaritas! The food was delicious! I got the buffalo wrap with sweet potato fries and loved it! The service was really good too. Waitress was super attentive and friendly. She joked around with us and made suggestions that lead to our delicious margs. We will most definitely be back since you don't often find "dive" bars with actually good food! read more

This place has always had good service, and like another reviewer stated there are very few sports bar-type options in the area where minors are allowed. And even at a place like Blitz, kids can eat there but the games are off-limits. At least here I can teach my 8 year old to play pool. The service is good- I haven't been there in a while but we popped in Sunday for a burger and beer. The bartender took good care of us. I'd give the place a 4 star rating if the food had been even marginally better. I feel like when this place first opened the grub was better- I don't know, it just wasn't very impressive this go round. So, overall a fine place to watch the game, throw back a few beers or play pool, but the food quality could be stepped up a bit. read more

Great number of rotating micro beers on tap including local. Service is friendly. The atmosphere is a bit blah. It's a bit of a dive bar, but oddly too light and bright, yet cold and sparse. Some comfortable chairs, paint and new decor would help warm it up. It is very clean, which is a plus! All that would easily be overlooked if the food prices matched the quality. Don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good as far as pubs-bars go, but it is substantially over priced. Breakfast, comes with hash browns which are never "browned" (on 4 occasions) and NO toast. $14 for average chicken fried steak, 2 eggs and the undercooked hash potatoes is a complete rip off when compared to other bars doing the same meal for $10-11 which includes toast. Burgers, entrees, salads, appetizers, we've tried them all and they were good, but $2-3 per item over other bars for the same meal. Will I go back? Our family has been going to BMP for over 2 years now, and we love it. The staff and owner (Mark) are always engaging, friendly, and go out of their way to get to know you, thus giving this pub a "small town" feel. My husband swears when we walk thru the door, he hears "NORM!" in the background, because we're asked if we want our "usual", and if not, they're typically already in the process of making our drinks, by the time we sit down. If you're a sports fan, you will not be disappointed as the place is surrounded by eight TV's; they have both Dish and Comcast, and print the list of games being broadcast daily. The happy hour menu is top notch; GM/Chef Jay has done a fantastic job of bringing an upper scale touch to the menu selections. My only suggestion would be to offer some of these amazing healthier options on the regular menu; they are just that good! The Sunday brunch menu is one you would expect to find in a boutique hotel; everyone we've invited to join us for brunch, has raved about how fantastic their meals, Mimosas and Bloody Mary's were. Their regular menu offers options for everyone's palette; even when we want to "tweak" something due to dietary restrictions, we've never had a complaint. If anything, Chef Jay knows when it's me ordering, and will correct a ticket if it comes in wrong. That's just how in tune they are with their patrons. Every restaurant/bar is a work in progress; I think they're on the right track, and have the staff and combined experience, to make this place one of the Portland's Best Restaurants by year end. read more

Amazing breakfast!!! Best chicken fried steak I've ever had. Biscuits and gravy was incredible too! The gravy was absolutely packed with chunks of sausage and it was so flavorful! 6 of us went into this bar for the first time for food and drinks. There was one waitress who was rude from the get go. They weren't very busy, and after taking a long while to even greet us, we had to ask for menus- of which she only brought 1. The only food that they had available was fried food, they were out of most everything and she couldn't make anything else. Her attitude was repulsive, and she didn't even give us an opportunity to order. We ended up having to walk out without food or drinks. read more

The service has been prompt and friendly. I took my kids in to play pool as very few sports bars allow minors. We ate some grub and the staff was on top of everything. First, I'm a fan because this place has agreed to play michigan state football and basketball games for us when we come in. The owner greeted us at the table, and was super friendly. The menu was above average bar food. Happy hour is 3-7 everyday, to include a HH menu of cheaper bites. The atmosphere is nice. Lots of windows.
