Fantastic coffee in a perfect location. My brain still fights over Blue Line and Double Shot and who is better......I must say Blue Line is in a very nice location.The outdoor seating area is cute and great for people watching....At all times of the day....hipsters....everywhere.... Coffee is amazing. What a great selection of fair trade coffee. Their Blue Line special sounds delicious but I don't like banana. Usually go for my caramel macchiato and they make the best in Omaha. I've had americanos and their regular coffees which are above average as well. Not as many of the flavored choices and lattes/cappucinos/starbucks style drinks that I go to Double Shot for. More of a normal coffee lover's place. read more

Great LOCAL place with skilled baristas. Beans are roasted on-site. Its atmosphere is unpretentiously and organically eclectic. Vibe is not at all akin to the predictable, formulaic coffee spots that dot every other mile of our metro's landscape. Prices are concurrently keen and attenuated. read more

Excellent coffee, lattes, tea. Extremely unassuming. Nowhere near as expensive as other places in town. Discount if you pay with cash. However, I had to leave the other morning because it was about 60 degrees inside (14 degrees outside) and it just got too dang cold. Maybe that's why the coffee is so inexpensive? read more

Besides the terrific coffee, Blue Line won my fandom for 3 reasons: 1. Doesn't attempt coffee shop quaintness or forced hipness. It doesn't need to, and its understated coolness makes it great. 2. The long line of tables and benches makes it work well for groups but doesn't create a room full of One Person At A Four Person Table awkwardness. 3. I loved their coffee, and my barista was friendly and charming at 6:30 a.m. Can't complain. I had great service, great prices, and great coffee. It's situated in midtown/dundee and the crowd is great. They know most of the people, and they want to get to know you. The decor and atmosphere is calm and sublime. read more

A double espresso and a gluten free triathlete muffin to start lunch and I am living the dream! The espresso was darker than I prefer (bean roast) and the pull lacked a little in terms of crema. But it was still better than many places. The muffin was perfection... spuced apple flavor and perfectly baked. It's like Cheers except it's a coffee shop instead of a bar! Everybody knows your name. The barista knew everyone in line (except for me) and their usual drink. The coffee shop is located in a great neighborhood with loyal residents. The interior could be updated. It also smelled like bad body odor. I held my breath so I would not gag. However the owner and barista were friendly and service was quick. The prices are very reasonable. The brews tastes decent. read more

While visiting my home sweet hometown, I dropped into the Blue Line to do some remote work. The atmosphere inside is pretty good considering the 1970's strip mall-esque setting. Aside from the usual tables and chairs there are old couches and coffee tables that look like they came from a thrift store (in a good way), and a couple of benches that look like they are salvaged from churches. I can't speak for the coffee (cuz I don't drink it), but they had a good selection of herbal teas. The service was typically indifferent. All in all, it's a good place to grab some free WiFi, but I think it closes a little early (8pm). Caffeine Dreams is a good place to go for later hours. read more

I love Blue Line Coffee. The drinks are cheap, the atmosphere is homey and always filled with characters, and it's a great place to sit and people watch. I agree with some of the other reviewers that while the service was fairly efficient, the baristas typically aren't as social/outgoing/friendly as the ones I'm used to in college town coffee shops. Oh well. I usually get an iced latte except when I'm feeling indulgent and order the frozen cappuccino. I know it sounds odd, but it is AMAZING. Try it. read more

Very friendly local cafe. The staff always remember my order, and the owner is always up for talking about philosophy. Super progressive vibe. And its the only coffee shop I know of that has a bucket of table-levelers for customer use -- I hardly ever need to use them here, but anywhere else I go I wish they had them too! read more

I pretty much come in for coffee here 2-3 times a week just for the cold brew and occasionally grab an oatmeal chocolate cookie. Like the last reviewer mentioned, you come in enough times and the friendly hipster staff there will remember your order. I like to make a quick stop right before work at 6:45am--when they open for business on most weekdays. They will serve your drink right away and if the aroma of freshly baked muffins don't get to you, I don't know what will. Oh, the muffins! They have a variety of delicious muffins which include accommodations for the hipster vegans and the gluten-free people. This little coffee shop is so busy. I went here one day while my husband was filling up the car at the gas station because in order to start my day right (I am not a morning person) I need a good cup of coffee. Well, I went here. The line is out the door! I'm like, maybe this place is really good?! Well, after like 15 min in line, I finally get to order. I ordered my usual. Sugar free, skinny mocha. The coffee itself was okay. I was kinda disappointed because I stood in line for SO long for an okay coffee. Ugh. Well, I would come back here if I needed to, but I will always choose scooter's if it's available. OR, coffee bean and tea leaf :) They don't have one in Nebraska though, so I guess I'm stuck with Scooter's for a while. read more

Fine coffee shop in Dundee. I would say the shop itself was a little run down and could use a good cleaning. The seating was arranged very interestingly with only two top tables available. The intent of my attendance at the coffee shop was for a meeting with more than two people. I felt as though I was disrupting the quiet atmosphere while pushing the tables together and no employees offered to help. I would go back to this place for a quick coffee or pastry. read more

I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 5 because the wifi was free and fast and I ended up sitting there for almost 2 hours. The code is: coffeeme However, the ambience is non-existent. I did really appreciate that there was clearly a broad spectrum of people that pass through the shop. The coffee itself was not memorable at all (I love when they use local milk and have pride and make hearts in the latte foam, this place is more like "oh, oops the milk is white on top better stir up the espresso." If you like a finer coffee experience, in other words, this place isn't the destination. I did enjoy the people watching, some people had kids there, some had dogs outside and then a guy did walk right in with his full size poodle, which didn't bother me. I felt sort of like I was in New Orleans, where my friends motto is, "you'll see something you've never seen before." An older man with a long white beard and long curly white hair walks in in a blue basketball jersey, matching shorts and cap. Ok, not too crazy, even if he's wearing beat up loafers with it. The hilarious part was that he (or someone) used silver glitter puff paint to blaze across the jersey and hat as if it were a team uniform the word "ELMO". And that is my story. Also I had the veggie egg sandwich and despite some promising ingredients, cheese, asparagus, mushrooms, eggs and a whole wheat English muffin, it was very disappointing. They cook the muffin into the egg so it's soggy and in general it was tasteless and the mushrooms used were probably canned (gross). read more

Reading the other reviews, I wonder if I just was there on a bad day. I had a dry cappuccino that was only passable--the one I had at Caffeine Dreams was much better. I'll have to try them again. That said, the large windows are a great place to sit and read or just watch people go by. read more

Food quality: I don't drink coffee, so I always get a muffin and milk with my daughter. Favorite menu item: Bi-Athlete muffin. Service: The people working there are great. Really nice and genuine. Environment: I like it. Straightforward with local announcements pinned up on a bulletin board. It's exactly what it should be for an understated, incredible coffee shop. I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. Dundee is strip mall-esque? Really? Just because there are a few store fronts right in a row. Did a quick Yelp search while driving into Omaha. We needed refueling and were into the idea of something other than gas station coffee. Blue Line has some great reviews. First thing we smelled when we walked in was burnt beans... I had an iced latte, Hot Mike had a double espresso and 4 shot Americano to-go. I liked the style of Blue Line - reminiscent of a train car kinda sorta. I was into it. The barista was really sweet. After pulling Mike's espresso he was shocked by how huge it was...it literally almost filled a regular coffee cup. She told us they, "pull huge shots"...no kiddin'. My latte was pretty good - it hit the spot as it was nice and hot outside. Mike's espresso was okay - he's way more of a coffee person than I am so had some criticisms of Blue Line. Mostly the burnt bean smell and the huge espresso shot that he had to 'season' with cream and sugar after a few sips. All around, a great place for Omaha and we are glad we found it. Really nice staff, cute location, great prices and good coffee. Not great coffee, but it'll do pig, it'll do. read more

Such a great neighborhood coffee place! You can take your dog inside, and they have nice patio seating right on the main strip of Dundee. Plus the coffee is really great and not acidic like a lot of local places! We love it here! read more

Coffee seems to be pretty good. The midtown location is close and convenient. I do enjoy their iced coffee. However, I always get it in a to-go cup or bring my own as the cleanliness is a little suspect while it does offer a shabby coziness to the place. This isn't your flashy Starbuckish-type coffee shop. It's a down-to-earth, neighborhood small coffee shop that is friendly, reasonably priced. There are a few tables for outside seating, but there was no shade. Inside is small but quiet and peaceful. There are limited food items, and the morning I was there (11 a.m.), there were only 4 muffins left of one kind. There is street parking here. No parking lot. I do hang out here, as this is near me. But really, as many other reviews point out, there is much that is not good here. The staff are wonderful and friendly. The location is excellent. The coffee is dreadful - DREAD-FULL. Bitter and harsh with no redeeming flavor features. The food and baked goods are completely mediocre - not very flavorful and sometimes stale. Not much variety or interest. The seating and ambience are shabby and not the cleanest. And no comfy chairs - solid wood for all! But this place proves that location is everything. It is in a GREAT spot in the heart of Dundee with no other coffee shops for blocks and blocks around. It is really sad that whoever owns this place does not seem to care about any aspect of it. It could be wonderful. I've not noticed the "friendly" atmosphere others have mentioned. When I'm there, the regulars are hunched over their laptops soaking up the free Webs like crazy, interacting with no one. If another coffee spot with better everything than the Blue Line opened - and that bar is super low! - this place would fold over night. I'm hoping a better place comes along soon. read more

The Dundee location is great but a big boooooooo for the downtown store. When it at 7am yesterday and they were dead in there, that wasn't comforting. I have scoured the Omaha area looking for the best coffee shop to suit my needs as a college student who studies a lot. They offer cheap coffee with a medium latte being only $2.70. Bring cash so that you are not charged another $0.25. The music is slow jazz with no words and it's never too loud, making it ideal for studying. They also have fast wifi. The only con is that the outlets can be hard to find on the first visit. Make sure to find a seat near them. read more

The place in Dundee is a bit of a dump, to be honest. Service tends to be inconsistent. The good news is that Omaha is getting some really great coffee places. We no longer need to settle for tired old Blue Line. Maybe it's time for the owner of this place to take notice and make some improvements. read more

I went here this morning to pick up 3 16 oz coffees for myself and family because I've liked the Dundee neighborhood and have enjoyed other businesses there. Blue Line seemed appealing from the outside. To keep things short, the coffee was quite good but the service was below par. The guy serving me, I think his name was Scowly McScowlerson, seemed less than impressed when I ordered my 3 take out coffees and then I had to wait 10 minutes while more was brewed. I found this to be pretty odd considering that it was 8:30 in the morning. I guess everyone else was ordering lattes. read more

This is the best coffee in Omaha hands down. I always get the dark roast and am in and out of there with no problem. The staff is friendly and conversational and not in a fake scripted way. Their locations are cozy and fun to hang out in. You will always run into an eclectic group of people at either of the locations. read more
