The company would screen my calls. Then finally the GM, Scott, took over my case. The company admitted fault and took responsibility, then the company agreed to replace our furniture that was damaged/broken (I have proof) and then Mike (whom till this day refuses to return my calls) decided I had to file a claim through this CSI company that investigates claims. After waiting almost 2 weeks for Jovelyn to get me the information I needed to file, I complete one. Then I contacted Moving Ahead Services MULTIPLE times because no one from this CSI claims ever reached out to me or answered my emails/calls after I filed. It's now August 22nd, I moved June 13, and I'm still sleeping on a bed on the floor because my bed frame was snapped in half. So we had to put our bed together and move the smaller bed into the spare bedroom, which is something I would have used the movers for. This is not the movers fault. This was due to the scheduling error. Unfortunately, I will not recommend this company. I think maybe they've gotten too big and need to get better in-office help. Their communication was great but when it comes to the actual job of moving and packing, it was…read morechaotic, very slow and disorganized. They came to our house 1 day before the move to check the inventory of items to move and were supposed to pack up our kitchen. On the day of the move, they showed up without packing supplies and later went to get the boxes. They brought only 4 boxes which clearly were not enough. After the 4 boxes were full, they used our own packing bags. The packing of the kitchen stuff was poor and they basically just dumped everything in the bags randomly and still left items behind that we eventually had to carry in our car. They took almost 7 hours to load the truck and this was just a 3 bedroom house and they had to pack only the kitchen. Everything else was packed already. They did not bring the plastic mattress covers and ended up wrapping the mattresses in a cheap plastic which did not cover the mattresses completely and ended up soaking and staining the new mattress. Further, the sofa was not wrapped completely and ended up getting soaked and stained too. Lastly, the furniture items were scratched at multiple places. They were way off the timeline that they originally estimated for our move. I would recommend them only if your move is small (1 bedroom or so). They are clearly not experienced and skilled enough to handle moves larger than that.

Part one of my U-Haul saga…read more Made a 1-way reservation with U-Haul for a move from Akron to Washington DC. U-Haul emailed us on Sunday to say to pick up the truck at a used car lot in South Akron on Monday. Of course, since they told us this on Sunday, and said used car lot was closed. Rather than risk showing up and them not having any supplies, we made a bonus trip to this U-Haul location to pick up some packing materials. So we pull into the parking lot and laying right there on the ground in the parking lot is a dirty mattress with mysterious red stuff all over it. DEFINITELY not what you want to see at a place where you're about to rent a moving truck. Which truck or storage unit did that nasty thing just come out of anyway? Chances that the inside was thoroughly and sufficiently cleaned is not good. Anyway... I'm yet to deal with the used car lot or the drop off location (still TBD). Let's hope the actual move goes more smoothly than the pre-move.

Storage unit #5052 at 237 Fountain St, Akron, OH has been affected by a severe, ongoing rodent…read moreinfestation since 2023, resulting in extensive biohazard contamination and thousands of dollars in personal property loss. Despite years of complaints and formal notifications from 2023 through 2026, U-Haul management has failed to provide an acceptable resolution or adequately remediate the condition. To make matters worse, my locked unit was accessed without my permission or prior notice, and my belongings were moved and disturbed. Photographic evidence clearly documents differences in the condition and arrangement of my belongings, including items that were moved and additional contamination and damage. I did not authorize anyone to enter or disturb my unit. U-Haul management has stated that they do not possess keys to customer units. Nevertheless, my locked unit was accessed. The photographic evidence documents these changes to my property. Local management also assessed an $181 charge while the matter was actively being disputed with Anthony Jones, U-Haul Vice President. I was never provided notice of any lien before access to my unit was denied. I paid the $181 under protest to regain access to my belongings and document their condition. I made repeated efforts to resolve this matter directly with U-Haul, including escalating the matter to U-Haul Legal. Despite those efforts, the matter remains unresolved. Based on my experience, I strongly caution consumers to carefully consider the condition, security, and handling of their belongings before storing property at this location.
