I phoned this plumber and he told me the garburator had to be replaced by a new one. *** He asked me for the make and model of the garburator and I emailed it back to him***. He replied and said it would cost $350 to $450, without telling me that it was not the same model. Since I am not in the plumbing business I trusted him thinking that that's how much a replacement would cost. After he finished installing it he told me the cost of the garburator was $400.00, plus tax and labor. He also said that he had to force to close the cabinet door and broke a container in order to fit. No word was said about compensation of the damage, but I just let it go. Afterwards I was wondering why the new garburator would not fit and found that it was a different brand and model and was much bigger than the old one. I then found out online that a new one the same make and model of my old one was $104.00. It is ridiculous to suggest one that is 4 times more expensive than the old one, which was a good machine until it was broken due to human error. I phone him the same evening and asked him to remove the new one and refunded me its cost. After 2 weeks of numerous attempts to set up an appointment he finally set up a date. However, he said he would charge me for the labor and only refund a portion of the garburator. I disagree so he did not return nor refund me.
