That day I called Mark at Kenway, informing him of my displeasure about the progress. He called Markeif (supervisor) and he call me. I informed him the same, not happy, employees smell like a reggae concert. We talked multiple time about the unskillfulness of the movers. They broke the leg off my dresser within 20 minutes of starting. These are the worst movers that I have ever dealt with, and I have moved MANY times. On the day of the move, the moving company told us that we would have 3 "professional movers ('Not day laborers')". One professional mover showed up with a helper who admitted to never having worked as a mover before. Shortly later on in the day, when this man was practically disable by fatigue, he told us that he would Never do such work again. True to his word, he did not show up on the second day. Let me add here that there was not supposed to be a second day. The move was to be completed in ONE day. We were moving from a 2 bedroom apartment to another apartment 180 miles away. The estimate that we had received and the bill for the move was less than $2,000. When the movers arrived, I signed the bill, at the time believing that the move would be accomplished in one day. The moving dragged on and on, hour after hour. We rarely saw the exhausted helper. NINE hours later (the whole job was to be completed on both ends in eleven hours) the truck was finally ready to depart. Of course it was too late to make the three hour trip by this point in the day. The movers then drove in the other direction to their home base to spend the night and we were forced to pay for a hotel room. On day TWO, when the two professional movers arrived at our new home, they were able to complete the unload in 3 hours. I refused to sign the bill of lading for the second day. I wanted to speak to someone in corporate before committing myself and my husband to any unwarranted expenses. Nevertheless my credit card was charged for the additional day. I had to fight like hell to prevail in having my charges reduced, to dispute the additional charges. All this was stressful and time consuming. With a 26 ft moving truck and a trailer and truck FULL of things, me a mom of 2, and my father, a 66 year old man, moved everything. This moving company damaged my furniture, smart 55" inch TV my son bedroom set and an expensive 7ft ceramic lamp. My experience was horrible and this company made $1,170 off me.. I plan to sue them and this will end up in court. Do not use them!!!! read more

Stay away!!! Absolutely HORRIBLE in terms of every aspect of the moving process: scheduling, customer service, the move itself, and claim for damaged furniture. Office employee, Kelly, did not enter my information correctly so they SKIPPED me the scheduled move day and only showed up after I called all day long to 3 different numbers. Showed up 9 hours after scheduled arrival time. Kelly blamed ME for her data entry mistake and hung up on me. After showing up 9 hours late for a 5-mile move from an apartment to a house, they could not complete the move before midnight, so they forced me to take another day off from work to complete the move the next day. Upon completion the next day, they had damaged 3 pieces of furniture. I asked for claim process guidance and was told to take pictures and email a specific address. I have never received a reply to that email as of today. I have REPEATEDLY called the office number to complete the claim for the furniture that Blue Oak destroyed. Each time, Kelly says that her supervisor, Roger, will contact me, and that does NOT happen. I called again today, nearly 2 months after the move, and Kelly hung up on me yet again after being EXTREMELY disrespectful, unprofessional, and rude. Blue Oak claims to be licensed and insured, but I have serious doubts as they are doing EVERYTHING possible to avoid my claim. Folks, run away from this company as fast as you can! I'll paint a picture for you: Imagine all the customer service of the DMV combined with the professional skills of just 3 random dudes picked up at a local bar. Absolutely hands down the worst customer service I've ever received from any company. Ever. The movers have damaged my heirloom furniture, and the company has not responded to my emails, nor have they returned my phone calls. It has been a month since I've first contacted them. BEWARE of this moving company, you will be taking a HUGE RISK. I am absolutely devastated in the way that they have handled my furniture, as well as the way they are actively choosing to avoid making things right. I used Blue Oak Moving for my recent move from Hampton to VA Beach. The team was extremely friendly and professional. They arrived a few minutes early and used extreme caution while loading and unloading. They were efficient and finished early even after putting my furniture back together. I did not experience any damage to my contents or to my home. I highly recommend this Company if you are looking for reliable, quality and efficient movers! Don't use this moving service. Sloppy and unorganized. They dented and scratched my refrigerator. They didn't use any padding to cover it. They also broke my curio cabinet glass inside the cabinet. They showed up, walked through my house, said the job was too big and left. This was after it had been booked for two weeks and I confirmed the move twice. They had the size of the move documented correctly. There was no reason for them to leave me stranded. I had packed and wrapped everything. Then the company wouldn't call me back. A couple weeks ago, I was very late in trying to book a moving company with my move being only a week out. I had tried to book nearly ten moving companies before I had success with Blue Oak Moving. They were able to find me a time that fit my move as well as store my items before I moved to my next location in 6 days. Beth was wonderful and greatly helpful on the phone, and the movers were very careful and speedy with both of the moves! It was my first time using a moving company and I had such a great experience. If I could give them a 0 rating I would. The worst moving company ever. They damaged ALOT of my furniture. I had a brand new desk I brought for my daughter and they damaged it to the point it could not be repaired. I had to throw it away, a $300 desk. Then they cheated me out of my $100 deposit. It was suppose to be deducted from the total charge and it was not and they would not reimburse me for it. They told all kinds of lies to keep me from getting it back. Run away from these people. The team that moved me out was terrible. Damaged flooring, damaged the front door. Somewhere between move out, storage, and move-in, someone damaged 2 bookshelves, destroyed one, and damaged a sleeper sofa in a way that makes the mattress no longer pull out. Something like $1000 to replace, and their $0.60/lb insurance pays out about $67 for it. They also outright lied about storage fees. I was told before moving that storage was pro-rated, and I would only pay for the time my items were stored. In actual fact, it is pro-rated for the first 5 days, then you are charged for a full month. And after 25 days, you are charged for the second full month, *even if your items are all moved out of storage by day 30, and you don't have anything in storage at the start of the second month.* It took me multiple phone calls to even get a response about either issue, and more than a month of contacting the 'manager' over and over again before I could get a refund for the month of storage I didn't use, and the paltry $67 in damages. I would never use this service again, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I would rather individually hand carry every item I own from one house to the next than deal with this company again.
