I hired two movers to help pack a 16-ft POD for two hours. When the movers arrived, they had brought an additional person free of charge. Lamar and his team worked very effectively and efficiently. They handled all of my stuff with care and did an amazing job. They completed everything I needed and went the extra mile of ratcheting down my belongings inside the POD. Do not trust them when they say "it's okay, we can move it" or try to talk you out of getting additional warranty coverage. We made that mistake--and we seriously regret it. Absolute Movers broke our brand new TV, couldn't figure out how to reassemble our Lovesac sofa, and even put our bed together incorrectly. Several pieces of our wooden furniture came out scratched, and clearly labeled boxes were left in the wrong rooms. This was not a professional experience by any standard. To make matters worse, when my husband called to ask about the damage, they hung up on him. We will absolutely not be using Absolute Movers again, and we will not be recommending them to anyone. read more

On the day of the move Lance gave me a call prior to our schedule arrival time and advised me of their location and estimated time to arrive to start loading. I'm just seeing this response to my review in October from Absolute Moving and I want to address them. "Thank you for your review. I'm sorry that we could not meet your expectations for your move. Our goal is to provide excellent moving services. It is important that the homeowner stay with the movers to answer any questions and direct the movers as..............." I was never told I had to stay with the movers. I guess it was my fault for trusting that your men would complete the move with all my items moved as contracted. Also, my apologies that I had a major surgery and I didn't unpacked everything immediately after moving in. It took me that time to completely unpack and realize a piece of glass and a door was missing. I saw the bar cabinet after I unpacked all the boxes that were put in front of that cabinet. I had a lot of furniture deliveries, getting things put together. etc It never dawned on me that all the pieces would not be moved. What moving company does that. You're right there were a lot of variables. But only two pieces of furniture. (vanity and bar cabinet) You put one in the wrong place and lost pieces of the other one. The bar cabinet is useless and it still on my deck even to this day. it's too heavy for me to take it down three flights of steps. I had to purchase a new one. that's money I had to spend partially due to your negligence. As adviced, I emailed your company in reference to this and I still haven't heard anything from my text messages or emails. The bar cabinet was valued at $1300. that's more than double the cost of the move. I don't think it was to much to asked to be reimbursed for the replacement cabinet I had to purchase which was only $200. That why we both take responsibility. I don't like my replacement as much the one I can't use anymore. But who whats to replace a $1300 bar cabinet after spending thousands on other furniture. After you shady response. I would never do business with your company again or recommend anyone else to. This could have been resolved before it got to Yelp. But since I was being ignored I figured I'll warn others. I have moved 14 times in my adult life and my experience with Absolute Moving has been the absolute best! We needed movers to help with my elderly mother's move from Williamsburg to Virginia Beach. I called three different movers that I found through Yelp reviews and Absolute was the most responsive and most understanding. Their quote was very reasonable and they stayed in touch with me several times before the actual move date. On the morning of the move, I received a phone call, alerting us of their ETA (on time even though it was rainy and traffic was bad). Once they arrived, we were greeted with the most polite, kind, upbeat, and competent move team I've encountered. My mom was worried and nervous about her move and they put her at ease throughout the entire day. At the end of the day, she was so grateful, she hugged them! Cody, Rodney, Jackson, and John were a dream team and we can't thank them and Absolute Moving enough for making this move possible and for ensuring Mom's transition was as comfortable as possible. Wow. Really professional, on time, and efficient!!! I had Noah (Rick's son), David, and Joseph. They moved a 75"TV with 85"stand, upright piano, adjustable queen bed base and frame and tons of boxes and bags. 2 hours was enough for my one bedroom apartment to move into a condo. Both were on the first floor and everything was packed and ready to go for them. Unload was even easier since I just had them stash everything in a corner. But wow. I'm very impressed. I'm a disabled veteran and I've moved a lot with my 10 years in the military. They are def the company to choose. read more

10/30/24 - Packing & loading truck they did a very good job. I had money missing from my wallet & my social sec card that was in my wallet was at the bottom of my bag. There is no reason why my social sec card would be out of my wallet. I felt sick to my stomach when I discovered the money missing & social sec card out of my wallet. Update 11/7/2024 I have been in contact with an employee, who is not the owner. He expressed they have had theft in the past. They offered me a gift card, which is an insult. They would rather have thieves working for them than offer customer service and a solution that is agreeable to the customer and the company. I have filed a police report on the company and the three movers. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB. This was a very vulnerable and emotional move. Absolute Moving and their employees have caused stress and anxiety for me and my family. I feel violated and disrespected. They may have good reviews. However, that is because there was not a complaint with the move. If you have a complaint or a problem they are not going to work with you. read more

This group of guys were great! Showed up on time with two big trucks moved all the big stuff and drove it straight over. We have a few little bumps in reassembling the furniture, but nothing to major. The guys were nice and respectful and they worked hard the entire time. Everything went as planned and we were done in one day. (We moved about 5 miles down the road). I would recommend this company and they are worth the little extra that they charge. read more

We needed to move an elderly family member from her home to an assisted living facility in a neighboring town. Due to some health concerns, there wasn't a lot of time to plan or pack but we knew there we would need to take some things to storage as well as the new facility. We were worried how that would work. It seemed like a lot to coordinate but James assured us his crew could handle whatever we needed. On moving day, our crew lead, Zack arrived on time with two other guys, Joey and Mark. They were polite and friendly and made sure to confirm what was going where so that they didn't have to make multiple trips or spend extra time moving things around the truck to get what we needed out when we needed it. They packaged each piece carefully and almost everything arrived to the new locations without damage. There was a little damage to one leg on the headboard but they were able to fix it on site to our satisfaction. The whole process took most of the day but Zack stayed in communication with us the entire time including travel between locations. They knew exactly where to go and were able to start moving items into the new apartment when we were delayed by a bridge opening. All told, they were professional, polite, friendly and efficient. We feel we got more than what we paid for compared to other moving services we have used in the past and will be booking them for another family member's move next month. Just finished up my move with Absolute Moving, by far the smoothest experience I've ever had. I'm in the Navy, so it goes without saying I've dealt with a lot of movies companies. It really is a rarity to be able to sit back and know your belongings are in safe hands. First and foremost, I got three movers with a massive truck for a very competitive rate in my opinion. The movers were three young built dudes, which let's be honest, it's what is needed for this kind of work. I've had some guys come to move my stuff before and I instantly took one look and thought to myself, "there's no way they're going to be able to move some of this stuff". These guys effortlessly were able to navigate some heavy furniture and hefty boxes. They arrived on time and were kind enough to call ahead with their 20 mins eta. They were incredibly respectful and were very transparent throughout the whole process. I had a pretty large storage unit I was moving items into and the foreman (I think that's the term) offered three times for me to switch out to a smaller unit if I wanted because he didn't want me overpaying for storage. That's literally unheard of in the world of business, let's be honest. All said and done, I look forward to booking with Absolute Moving again for my next move. These guys have done it again! This was my second move with them, and again, it was seamless, timely, professional, and under budget! The three man crew moved me from a second story to a third story apartment on the hottest day of the year so far (90 degrees) and they didnt skip a beat. Fantastic moving experience. Mark and his crew of 6 along with 2 trucks arrived at our home at 9:15 AM. The entire 3200 sq ft house was packed by noon. After arriving at our new home, all was unpacked, beds set up, appliances installed and everything put in the right place by 4:30 PM. We felt completely safe during the entire day. Everyone wore masks and kept as socially distanced as possible through the whole experience. I would recommend these folks any day.
