Where do I even begin? I cannot give enough praise to blue oasis. I called in yesterday trying to find the best place for my very anxious/reactive senior pup. He had a terrible experience years ago at another vet, so I was very apprehensive about bringing him in. Joy was SO helpful and so understanding over the phone. She gave me a game plan to bring him - with the least amount of distractions for him. I already felt so much better about the visit before we got there. We got there today and let me just say.. WOW! They. Were. Absolutely. Amazing. Dr. Haines and the nurse Mackenzie - were already in the exam room waiting for us, treats in hand. They were so welcoming that he warmed up to them immediately. Puppers didn't even need his muzzle- which he was THRILLED about- because he hates it! We now have a plan moving forward, to get him all fixed up and I'm beyond happy. Let's just say- when we got back to the car- I sobbed! I was so relieved and happy!! Then I came straight here to leave this review! And I will leave it on every site I can!! We are absolutely blown away by Blue Oasis. Dr. Lucas has gone above and beyond for our yellow lab after a horrible accident that required a lot of appointments and back and fourths to the emergency room. She called after hours to inform me (let the record reflect I am a VERY very anxious dog parent) about everything and was very realistic about how things went. The staff and especially nurse Megan are simply the most amazing people. We are new to the area from Virginia Beach and always do our research as again my husband I are just picky with where we bring her. I honestly could not love this practice more! read more

Blue Oasis Pet Hospital - Millie our lab! - Veterinarians Near Me - Mount Juliet, Tennessee

On the surface, this is a clean and friendly vet that is good with animals. However, below the surface, we found some evidence that suggests that they price jack if you have pet insurance and that they are quick to diagnose certain diseases (e.g., stage 2 kidney disease) to get kickbacks from the pharmaceutical pet food companies. They ran blood work on our cat, diagnosed her with stage 2 kidney disease via email, and said we needed only to feed her pharmaceutical-grade cat food that Blue Oasis sells. One call to our pet insurance company, and we learned that places like Blue Oasis get money kicked back from the makers of pharmaceutical cat food and, in some unfortunate cases, can quickly diagnose a disease that a cat may or may not have to get money. Before taking Blue Oasis up on buying our cat pharmaceutical-grade cat food from them for the rest of our cat's life, we took her to another vet for a second opinion. The second vet said not only was our cat's SDMA level right on the threshold, but that would not conclusively point to kidney disease, let alone stage 2 as diagnosed by Blue Oasis. They said more testing would be required before diagnosis. The second vet also said SDMA is a measurement that is no longer used as a conclusive means of diagnosis. Blue Oasis also said our cat had a dead tooth that would be ~$1,800 to have removed. The insurance specialist also told us that some vets would charge more money if they knew you have pet insurance. We talked to a friend who went to Blue Oasis for a more complex oral surgery, including removing eight teeth, treating gum disease, and an extensive list of other things. This friend has no pet insurance and for that massive list of work, she was charged a third of what we were quoted for extracting a single tooth. The next vet we took her to said the tooth is just chipped and didn't recommend surgery. As opposed to Blue Oasis saying it is a dead tooth and quoting a $1,800 removal. It's sad to think that price jacks, kickbacks, jumping to diagnosis without proper testing, and these other practices have also made their way into our pet healthcare system. I'll never trust Blue Oasis with the health of one of our pets again, and I would suggest getting a second opinion before you trust any bad news they have to give you. read more

I honestly hate that I have to write this review. We are new to Mt. Juliet and after my first visit here, I was sure we had found our new vet. The two ladies at the front desk that day were kind and helpful and the doctor and her assistant were wonderful. But today we came back for our second visit (a follow up a week later) and had a VERY different experience due to a different woman at the front desk, Kim. She was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. She clearly has no concept of how to speak to a client and for the sake of that practice, I hope they don't allow her to interact with clients moving forward. The subject was masks, but the ISSUE was her attitude. I have no problem with a business requiring masks if that is their choice - but I do feel if that's their policy it should be stated on their website and it should be consistent and POLITELY communicated. I brought my dog in last week (without a mask bc we haven't had a mandate here in over 6 months) and interacted with six different people from front desk to doctors, and not one person mentioned anything about this to me. Today, this woman basically barks at me "I'm going to need you to put a mask on" - not "would you mind putting one on, please?" Nope - Just dripping with attitude from the start. She said it was "required" and a "policy" even though again, no one else mentioned it before and no mention on their website. I checked my car for a mask, but didn't have one (again, 99% of businesses here it's not an issue anymore so I don't always carry one) so she started insisting that I put one on that had been sitting in an open box in the middle of their waiting room handled by who knows how many people. I told her I was not willing to do that, as this is unsanitary. She told me I could leave my dog and go outside then - even though I'm paying premium prices compared to other vets for a "fear free" experience for my little dog that is already sitting there trembling even with me there. So I went back out to my car AGAIN to dig for anything - because this woman has decided to continue making issues over a "so called policy" that is clearly just her bringing her personal issues to work. I finally managed to find a bandana/scarf that I had in my car - so I come in holding that, my dog, a purse, and my phone trying not to drop anything. She puts me in an exam room and then just stands at the door staring at me while I'm trying to get situated. This goes on for a few minutes as I'm getting my things and my dog settled, until I finally ask her (still staring at me) if she's standing there watching me to see if I put the bandana on to which she replies, "Yes I am". I was beyond insulted and shocked. The audacity that she would treat a client like a child that she's "watching" is so far out of line I don't even know where to start. I got up and left at that point, and as I was leaving I could hear her snickering behind me. I called from my car and asked to speak with the doctor that was scheduled to see my dog so I could explain why we weren't there - she refused to put her on the phone. When I expressed how out of line her behavior was, she actually laughed and just kept saying "I'm sorry YOU feel that way" which is NOT an apology or taking responsibility for HER actions at all. Her unprofessional behavior has nothing to do with my "feelings". Just more condescending, insulting behavior from her. I don't tolerate people speaking to me this way, so I asked again to speak with the doctor or better yet, the owner of the practice. She told me that wasn't going to happen that an office manager would call. I told her that was unacceptable. An office manager left me a voicemail 2hrs later. The doctor never called and was probably never notified about the incident. It's really a shame, because otherwise I really liked this practice - but unfortunately having people like this at your front desk WILL cost business. read more

Once again, the team (Dr. Sansom and nurse Dannette) at Blue Oasis saved my baby and got her back on track!! I moved 30 miles away from this place but will continue to come back no matter where I live. I LOVE the girls up there, they are truly in touch with my doggies feelings, whether they are going through pain or wagging with excitement! They are loving, patient, trustworthy and most of all so, so incredibly good to all of my pets. I can tell that they love all of my animals just like they were their own. I've tried going to other Vets closer to my house but I have never found a place like Blue Oasis, ever. I could sit here all day typing about how much I love this place and the girls but since I don't have that kind of time, you will just have to check them out for yourself. If I could give 10 stars I would. I brought my baby French Bulldog, Kylo, in for an Exam/ Neuter, and when I tell you I have never had a better experience anywhere else, it's true. Working in the veterinary field for 7+ years myself, Dr. Lucas and her team at Blue Oasis are the best. I was extra nervous bringing my baby to a hospital I wasn't familiar with or knew anything about. But, from the initial exam with Dr. Sansom, to the neuter surgery with Dr. Lucas, the entire team made my sweet Kylo and I feel so comfortable and like family. Thank you so much to the ENTIRE team at Blue Oasis for being so amazing. From the receptionists, to the nurses, to Dr. Lucas and Dr. Sansom, there is not one person there that did not show compassion and kindness to Kylo and I. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for everything that you do and continue to do on a daily basis for other pets and their parents. Dr Lucas has been amazing with my allergy prone dog. She is extremely patient and thorough in explaining things. I brought my dog, Teagan, to the practice for the first time during Covid when I couldn't go in with her. They went out of their way to take the best care of my baby & reassure me. Every visit since has just been a continuation of that. Teagan loves everyone at the office and is only sad when they walk out of the room or it's time to leave. I am new to the area and always want to be able to go in with my keys when starting at a new clinic. Covid has made it so that isn't a possibility right now, but from the moment I called to schedule an appointment I felt this was a good place. They were so caring to come out and get my fur babies from the car and ensure they felt comfortable. The vet called me to discuss everything about my pets and was so kind and caring. It was great to know they showed the same love and care for my pets that I do, and I feel I can trust them even without having been inside the facility. I had been a client of a clinic in Hermitage for probably 30 years and loved the owners and always trusted their judgmen--I felt safe there with my dogs. They retired and I no longer liked the new management so needed to change. one of those former vets highly recommended Dr. Lucas. The staff at Blue is wonderful, patient, and kind. The service and attention to your pet is personal and thorough and the Doctors take time to explain everything. I have taken many dogs and cats to Blue Oasis over many years now, and consistently get excellent care for them. The vets are all knowledgeable, thorough, careful, and considerate of my pets and me, as are all the staff. They are available six days a week and have always been able to accommodate me on the few times I have needed a vet in an emergency. Their service was especially laudable during the worst of the pandemic, finding ways to keep seeing patients in ways that I always felt safe and to keep calm in times that put us all under stress. I went to Blue Oasis after the recommendation of a fellow Frenchie rescue foster here in Nashville. I went for basic vaccines for my two dogs and cat. Dr. Lucas was kind, efficient and SO personable. She noticed a palpable spleen in my 5 yr old Shepherd mix and offered bloodwork just to double check things (I wish I had done it now). But my budget at that time was maxed so we opted to try a few things and monitor her closely. Two weeks later my Jovie fell very ill. Dr. Lucas got her in right away, and stayed late after close to figure things out (and let me stay and help). Because of my background in Vet Technology, Dr. Lucas let me take her home after one night to administer fluids and medications. Unfortunately, Jovie's kidneys failed and I we lost her a few days later after a brief stay at NVS in Nashville. Dr. Lucas was so kind through it all, and went above and beyond to try and save my baby girl. She called and offered her genuine condolences for our loss. The unique thing about Dr. Lucas is the time and compassion she exudes. I highly recommend this clinic, beautiful building and a wonderful staff, too! read more

I just moved to the side of town and used yelp reviews to guide me to this location for my pet. To say my experience was disappointing would be an understatement... And this comes from someone who works customer service and gives the benefit of the doubt as much as possible. My first impression of the clinic was that it was nice, but oddly located. The woman at the front desk was friendly and did her job, but it was not the warm feeling you usually get when people care about their jobs. I was finally led to a room about 40 minutes after my appointment time, not great for first impressions, but again... Benefit of the doubt. maybe an emergency came in that made them run late. No big deal, Things happen. The veterinary assistant came in and took notes on our visit today. She seemed to really enjoy her job, was great with patient care, and had a genuine love for animals. She deserves a five star rating as an individual - thank you for being a shining light here. I wish I could say the same for the veterinarian that I saw. We were there as a new patient, but more specifically to address skin allergy issues that my pet was having with the weather change. The vet asked about current medications my dog was on, one of which is Sentinel (flea and heartworm). The vet expressed that while she likes Sentinel for heartworm, she really doesn't approve of it for flea issues... and that she was bringing this up because some parts can be allergic to fleas. No big deal at this point, makes sense, but I politely let her know that although I appreciate her advice, I'm not looking to give my dog a medication for adult fleas at the moment since we are not there for a flea problem and I would like to focus on the problem at hand (allergy flareup from pollen) and revisit that another time. In response to this, the vet said that she will "let it go for today but in the future will harp on me" and "be very strict that my dog HAD to be on another medication". She said this while leaning forward in her chair talking to me, and slapping her hands together. Ever hear the saying that it's not what you say, it's how you say it? This vet was so pushy and rude, did not take the time to listen to her client, and therefore does not deserve my business. I was so mad that tears came to my eyes, I told her that we were done there, and walked out of the clinic. She came out apologizing, and I just told her she needs to watch how she talks to people and left. I am still amazed that someone would treat a client that way, more specifically a new client whose business you're trying to win over. When I left I called my normal vet that is 40 minutes away and made an appointment for today, went there, and happily spent the $250 at an establishment that listens and shows genuine care about your animal instead of bullying you into following their orders. read more

AWESOME! Blue Oasis is fantastic. I have a dog that has high anxiety at vet clinics, and the staff here is superb. First, they don't judge (me or my dog). They understand my dog is afraid not bad. Second, every single member of the staff was laser focused on making Gemma comfortable and cared for. They have such a great attitude. Third, and the most critical, Dr. Samson is Simply. The. Best. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, informative, efficient (yet spends all the appropriate time to acclimate, treat, and explain), and incredibly friendly and vested in Gemma's health. I just moved to mount juliet and I'm so glad I found Dr. Lucas. She is a wonderful veternarian...she takes the time to go over everything with you and at no time do you feel rushed. I have been going to Blue Oasis since I got my pup at 6 weeks. She just recently was spayed and to my surprise I got to be with her during the entire process! Dr Lucas has windows around the surgery room if you want to check on your fur baby during the surgery process. I was able to sit with her as she had all of her pre-op tests as well as hold her when she was recovering. This was not only comforting to be able to stay with her it was also very interesting and educational. All the staff was there to answer any questions and I was relieved to be able to hold my puppy during a time that was hard for her. I am pretty sure it helps with recovery instead of waking up in cage and not knowing where you are. Dr Lucas made sure she was well taken care of as well as the other puppies and kitties that were there. VERY IMPRESSED! read more

I brought my two rat boys here and I LOVE this clinic. Nothing but smiles and friendly people. All the girls there wanted to see my ratties and even gave some advice on them. Dr Lucas was AMAZING she handled my babies like they were her own. She took the time to even get a proper dosage for my rats medication where as I have had to figure it out on my own before. I have been going here since I got my puppy, about 2 and 1/2 years ago. Dr. Lucas is intelligent, patient, and kind. She is really very smart and I have always trusted her with my Dog. Even when she neutered him, she was very kind and gentle and explained everything in detail. Love her! Unfortunately, her office staff is not the best. They get frustrated easily, aren't very helpful, and don't make my visits or calls convenient. The insurance is great, but the office staff has messed my plan and payments up several times. It has been a hassle time and time again with the office staff on various occasions. I've decided to remove my Dog from this practice for the reason if not wanting to go through the office staff. From our very first visit with Dr. Sansom and Jess to our most recent surgery with Dr. Lucas and Jess, I have continued to be impressed. I've never experienced a vet who puts so much importance on the owner-pet relationship, and it's a great thing. My little guy just had a lot of bad teeth extracted, and I got to be with him through the sedation process, and into the surgery. Dr. Lucas and Jess were incredible - they answered all my (many) questions, walked me through why they were doing each thing, and put so much care into giving Jasper their absolute best. The ladies at Blue Oasis gave my little guy extra snuggles, and carried him around while we was recovering and waiting for me to pick him up. They loved on him like I would, and I couldn't ask for more than that. The next day (a Saturday), Jess called to check on Jasper to make sure he was feeling ok and I had no concerns. We had scheduled a surgery for my dog but when we went in for the surgery, after very thoroughly examining him, she felt he was better and we should wait and see how he was going to do without the surgery. Veterinary clinic folks were very nice!! I was excited to start using them as my vet. Until I went to pay, they require 2 forms of payment for the VIP options. Even though it's automatic withdrawal from my acct. They lost a customer because of this. I do not have credit cards, only a debit card. Walked out very disappointed!! read more
