Professionalism is lacking from certain office management and team members generating a low trust environment for some.

A little over a month ago my daughter broke her key fob for a Volkswagen Jetta. After going to a…read moredealership and the locksmith we decide to take advantage of the Ace hardware auto key replacement that they were advertising. Seems like a pretty good value so we tried the Dublin Virginia store first. My daughter went in alone she is 18 year old and the employee working the kiosk totally dismissed her to the point where she got frustrated and left the store. The Blacksburg Virginia store being about equal distance I decided that I would try this store and initially the service was good they did say they would have to order the key for the Volkswagen Jetta and it'll be in 7 to 10 days. After 2 weeks I started calling with varying degrees of customer service but all saying it hasn't came in yet will call you. Finally after nearly a month I called and after a while they said that the key had come in I didn't ask what day I was just glad to get some traction on this issue. After the manager started grinding the key he said that they shipped the wrong one and they were not able to help me he did Apologize gave me a refund but offered no solution for this problem. I understand one employee at one store having a bad day so this has been two separate locations 30 miles apart this may just be a systemic problem with Ace hardware or the automotive key replacement program may not be where it needs to be. In an event I will not be patronizing Ace hardware anytime soon."

The woman with the bright red hair in the service department/customer service department was…read moreINCREDIBLY rude to us. We just moved to the area and could not find the building because our GPS tracker was not clearly labeled, and the building was also not clearly labeled. We are two college students and we have never had to do billing before in this area. Therefore, I called the number asking about their services, explained my situation and got an extremely rude reply in return. The conversation went like this: "Hello! I'm wondering if this is the water service department? We were wondering if you could please help us with that information? Our GPS is leading us to abandoned buildings rather than the department." "Where are you right now?" "Um we are not sure specifically where we are at the moment because we are not sure where the building is." "You know what? I can't help you if you don't know where you are. Give me a location or I can't help you." She cut me off in a sassy tone, ignoring my earlier question. "We are in Dublin, we just wanted to know if this was the right department for water service." She then cut me off and said: "we are in the brick building, 101 drive, door in the right." And hung up before I could even say thank you. I was flabbergasted at how rude she was over the phone, especially because I was extremely polite to her and friendly. We drove back down the road and went to the brick building which was actually not the correct address online. When we went through the glass doors on the right which said "service department" and we explained our situation to a kind, short haired woman. She asked what we were looking for and we replied that we were trying to pay for our services and that we were confused because we just moved into the area. Before she could reply this woman with bright red, spikey-ish hair stood up and said "oh you were the ones I was talking to on the phone? Yeah you are really confused aren't you?" In this incredibly rude and sassy tone. Then she snapped at us and told us that "I TOLD you that the department was to the right past the glass doors." And sat back down in her seat. At that point my sister gave me this shocked look and we went back outside to the other door on the hallway on the right which was the correct department but unlabeled. It was a half open door and no one was there to service us when we walked in which was why we thought that it was the other door on the right. All in all we had an incredibly bad experience with this woman. Although, the people at the water service department were kind and friendly, and also willing to answer our questions. We are just shocked that someone so rude would work in a service department. If you aren't kind or well mannered OR professional, why are you working in a job that requires you to work with people? I usually give people the benefit of the doubt when I meet someone who is rude, but this woman went too far with her rude attitude.
