It was just okay all around. The self-seating was kind of haphazard and difficult for our party of 10. We started with a family size salad which was really a cool option. The we ordered two large pizzas which were ginormous and a couple of smalls. Our movers had worked hard all day packing and loading our household in Steamboat. At the last minute we realized we should feed them, so we called Blue Sage. We were told they were super-busy, but they took our order for two large pizzas and said they'd be ready in twenty minutes. And sure enough, they were! Had their hand tossed pizza - the works and their Maui Wowie - that latter one they are not holding back on the fresh jalapeños which is great if you like the heat. Super nice staff. Mostly kids (to me) working the place but they are trained well and cranking out great pizzas and prob making some $. I would definitely order from here again or go to eat there. After checking into our hotel, setting up ski rentals, and grocery shopping, we were ready to relax instead of cooking and cleaning up. We ordered 2 pies from blue sage and were very happy with the results. Their estimated pick up time was spot on, so our pizzas were piping hot and ready to go when we arrived, which is exactly what you hope for when you order food for pickup. Everyone really liked the crust, and it stayed pretty soft the next day when we finished the leftovers for lunch. I usually prefer a veggie pizza but was with a bunch of meat eaters, so next time I'm in Steamboat I'd love to try their veggie pizza. read more

Our family of six purchased two of the 18" pies to go with the rolled crust. 1/2 Full Boat (Supreme), 1/2 Pepperoni, 1/2 Margherita, 1/2 Bacon Jalapeno Popper. The pizza was all EXCELLENT, and we still had 2/3's of one of the pizza's left over for another meal. Truly, this is some of the best pizza I've ever had! The ingredients were all top notch, the pepperoni's were huge, the meats tasted smoked, the mushrooms were full of flavor, the bacon was incredible. The Jalapeno Popper and Full Boat pizza were simply fantastic. We had it recommended to us by a gentleman at Steamboat Christian church who told us some of his local restaurant recommendations in the area, and he was right! Excellent Pizza! Wow! If you're hungry and need a lot of food for a decent price (in a ski town) this is a great option. We got their full load pizza which has pepperoni, bacon, sausage, onions, mushrooms, olives, and green peppers. Get the hand tossed option too! We ordered their garlic bread ( they no longer sell their garlic knots FYI) and the garlic bread wasn't my favorite I've tried, but the marinara sauce that came with it was sooooo good. I'd buy that if they jarred it. Waiter I spoke with in the phone was friendly and accommodating! Lots to be disappointed about here. Hard to order, and the pizza was hit and miss. In Steamboat New Year's Day, and Blue Sage had good reviews. Mid afternoon we started looking at how to order (we knew things would be busy due to holiday and football games). The online ordering system did not work - would never let us actually order. So we called (several times) - no answer at any time. So we decided to just go in person (must be slammed we assumed). Got there and it was busy, but nothing like what we had assumed. I've seen slammed restaurants, and with people standing around this was not that. I will say that the entire staff was super friendly. We ordered at the counter and were told it would be about 45 minutes. Sure. That's what we get for ordering in person on a busy day. Honestly, the three stars here are not so much for the inability to order, although that was super frustrating. Took about an hour before we got our two pizzas and cheesy garlic toast. First the "cheesy" garlic toast - it was not. Very little cheese and almost no garlic flavor. So, yeah - bread. For pizzas we got regular crust, and a Godfather and Vegetarians Nightmare. Could not have been more different. The VN was fantastic. Great crust, sauce, and toppings. The Godfather was awful. The crust wasn't cooked, and it had no flavor. So, all in all a very disappointing experience. We ended up having lots of leftovers, and no one ate any more of the Godfather. read more

Sat at the bar with a few friends and had a great experience here on a snowy day! Watched some sports on the TV and enjoyed a pizza and beers. The menu was probably the most confusing menu I've ever seen. I had to ask the server how to decipher it. The pricing varies depending on what size your pizza is and the type (hand tossed, thin crust, or deep dish). But the way the wrote the menu is not the most clear and you have to do some math. We ordered the FULL BOAT pizza and asked for olives only on one side since not everyone in our group likes olives. The pizza was packed with toppings and so satisfying. They had the perfect cheese to sauce ratio. The dough is a bit on the harder side. The hardness reminds me of frozen pizza. That's not to say it wasn't good, just probably how it gets baked. First time in Steamboat Springs so we asked a couple of local friends for pizza recommendations. The common answer every time was Blue Sage so we decided to come in and grab a pizza to go. The inside of this place is so sweet, super open, and has the most laid-back atmosphere. We all agreed after just one bite that this was an epic pizza. The crust is notably one of my favorite crusts of all time and all the toppings were perfectly spread so that every bite was just as good as the first. The popper was bacon, cream cheese, and jalapeños but we decided to add pepperoni as well which was perfect. Can't wait to come back during the ski season! read more

Not sure what happened here but Blue Sage went from the best to cardboard, Papa Murphy's level pizza. The basic crust their pizzas have is different but you can upgrade for $4 a pizza to their old crust. Overall we just weren't impressed and are wondering if Blue Sage has switched hands. Got a kids cheese pizza and a deep dish Herbivore for a night after boarding. The crust on these pizzas are incredible and I was surprised at the deep dish after letting it sit for 40 minutes to cool. After five days straight of skiing and snowboarding, my body just wanted CARBS. Specifically pizza carbs. We looked up pizza options in Steamboat and this place just looked good! It's located in a shopping plaza so off-street parking (yay!). The place was pretty full when we arrived at 6p. One of the servers said he would clean up a table for us and while we waited we looked at the menu. I must've said "hand-twisted" crust really loud because another employee said that he recommended it. Right when you walk in the front entrance, they have ready made pies and you can order slices and they had one of a twisted crust pizza and it was so pretty!!! I don't know that I've seen that anywhere else and it had me INTRIGUED. We asked if there was anything inside, like cheese, but the worker said no, just twisted crust. So we decided to order a 14" hand-twisted crust pizza with sausage and spinach. We also ordered a side of the Caesars salad to be healthy. The salad came out super quick and then as soon as we finished that, the pie came out, so pretty speedy, given how busy it was. The pizza was DELICIOUS. It's thin crust, which is the kind of pizza I like best. The twisted crust was beautiful. It is just crust, so it's basically just bread - I liked it, but I did think that if i had like some marinara sauce to dip it in, it would be even better. The service was just excellent here. The guys were very friendly and it gave the place a great vibe. I would definitely come back here the next time I'm back to ski in Steamboat. The 14" came out with I think 8 decent sized slices, so between the two of us, we had three slices leftover, which we packed up to go and ate for lunch the next day on the mountain. read more

I've only visited a few times during my lunch break the last few a days and I have been extremely impressed with both the service and the quality of food at this establishment. The hostess is incredibly friendly and periodically checks on customers to ensure they are having an amazing expierence. In addition to this exemplary level of service the pizza at this location is absolutely phenomenal and cooked to perfection with a light and crispy crust as well as perfectly melted cheese. The atmosphere of this establishment is very upbeat and family friendly. Perfect for a family dinner or Monday night football!
