This is a much bigger space than what it seems when you first enter the building. It's mostly a gift shop filled with "made in Oklahoma" items or items that have to do with Oklahoma. In the back, there is a large section of clothing for men and women. I was disappointed in the clothing, the quality just wasn't there for the price. I'm not so sure that is the shops fault, I think this is just something that clothing manufacturers are doing these days. It's rather sad. read more

Wow! I went by to grab a Tallgrass candle because they're the closest retailer to me that sells more than just a few of their scents, but I wasn't expecting to find such an all around great shop!! Their selection of Oklahoma gifts (including candles) was beautiful. The gift type items they carry were unique and fun. The clothing they carry was beautiful and high quality. The shopkeeper working when I went only like 30 minutes before close was helpful and friendly. I'm realizing that I'm becoming increasingly comfortable in my professional middle-class (read: bourgeoisie) lifestyle, when Blue Seven doesn't feel so expensive anymore... That said, I'm still (and forever) Asian, so there's usually an interesting battle happening in my mind-palace at any given moment... My relationship with B7 is less "love/hate" (as previously stated) and more, "we get along, but we're not really friends." I mean, I still don't really buy clothes from B7; shopping "local" sounds great in theory, but it's not particularly reasonable as far as frequent shopping is concerned for people with self-imposed budget limits. And words like "responsible", "sustainable", and "local boutique" are often used to justify ridiculous mark-ups. But as far as occasional unique or novel gifts are concerned, B7 is pretty fantastic. For example: right now, there's an Oklahoma-shaped bamboo cutting board sitting somewhere in my (super-hipster, knife-maker) cousin's home in Australia. And that interesting gift was possible (at the very last minute, as per usual) only because of B7 (well I suppose it was because of "Just OK"). Customer service is stellar, because everyone is: (a) friendly (b) capable (c) knowledgeable (d) willing to let you have your space (e) fully engaged when help is requested (f) all of the above The answer is (f). read more

If you are looking for a gift or just a cute outfit for yourself, this is the place to go. I came here in hope of leaving with some cool souvenirs for friends back in LA. In terms of gifts the place has you covered. Whether you want a giant gummy bear, some novelty dining wear, cool flasks, lovely jewelry, journals, barware, or random cool stuff, they've got you covered. You can waste hours in here just walking back and forth deciding on what to get. But of course, their main deal is clothing. The women's section has lovely fossil purses, retro-inspired dresses, fun shorts and tank tops, and some office-appropriate tops, all mixed together. The men's clothing focusses more on tanks, t-shirts, and awesome bow-ties and socks. There's a wall of Tom's, if you're into them, and a whole ROOM of jeans. I can't begin to describe how amazingly cool the store is. They have a wide range of things to buy, but it's more than that. It's like a hodge podge of wicked smart gifts, funky accessorizes, locally designed clothes and art. You don't just walk out with a blue bag. You walk out with something personal, quirky and unique. "I'll take one of everything," I said jokingly to my friend. Even the "405 fo' sho'" t-shirt. Yes, even that. Plus the array of hats, zipped hoodies with cool prints, hand sewn scarves, tie watches, quirky gum and magnets. Yes, one of everything. I'm not kidding. This place is THE place to go for fun or funky gifts. It's also a fantastic place to go to update your wardrobe or add a cool piece or two to your personal collection. I got my first hat here. Very unique and fun store that YELP help me find. They have shoes, sandals, women's purses, watches and other unique items. Just too many unique items to mention. It's the kind of store you have to just go and browse and you'll never know what you're going to find. Watch out though you'll probably make an impulse buy. The staff were very friendly. What I liked most is that as you picked up items they would take them up front to the counter and place them in bins behind the counter with your name on it so you wouldn't have to carry them around. This place was a GREAT FIND! The day we decided to go, we walk in to a table of Vibram Five Fingers ON SALE for $40! SCORE!!! Picked up three pairs for the normal price of one. Apparently those shoes didn't sell well there until they were marked down to nothing. I can see why they wouldn't sell well there though, its not really an athletic store. I don't know where to start weather it be the massive wall of Toms or the awesome display of sanuks! I love Toms and the husband loves sanuks, so, we're BOTH happy. They had lots of cute tops and I can't wait to jump in to the jeans next time we go. Hopefully I can find a sweet pair of jeans. They have a really nice unique jewelry selection as well as a bunch of random stuff. We got sucked into looking at all the random stuff for about an hour. Blue Seven is a bit more expensive than I'd like for the type of stuff it tends to sell, but it's forgiveable. The store is a really awesome place, because it carries a super wide variety of things-- a little like an Urban Outfitters, but local, not offensive, and less trying-too-hard. The thing I buy the most often there are their lovely voluspa candles-- they have a really wide rand of scents from the company and honestly, voluspa are the highest-quality candles I've found. They have a lot of other candles too, and tend to have some nice masculine candle scents, which are hard to come by. They also have a great selection of masculine grooming products, including Jack Black male cosmetics, which is GREAT for when you want to buy a guy a gift that's a little out of the ordinary for what people typically get. In terms of gifts in general, though, the place has you covered. Respect that you started years ago in a small location with tie watches and paintings by young local artists, where you were the first in the city to provide them a platform to sell their artwork outside of the occasional gallery show or Momentum. Thankful that you have such a funky selection of affordable gifts for dudes and chicks, that I know I can find something for my mom and something for my brother-in-law in the same shop. Happy to snuggle up with those soft, distressed Thunder tees and feel good about buying a pair of shoes from the wall o' Toms. Appreciate the young people that work here, for they are my favorite enclave of young Okies: Swipters (sweet hipsters). Owners have done a great job hiring friendly managers and sales people who I know are a lot cooler than me but are still nice to the old lady. Frequent the gag gift/affordable coworker present section. Swoon at the table full of necklaces, yelp with joy that I can get two pair of sunglasses for less than I can get one at ye old mall. Only thing I would change, and this is a personal thing, but I wish we had some cool denim for grown-up ladies who are not models. I haven't done a ton of jeans shopping in Blue 7, mostly because the few times I have, my size 10-12, short curvy lady body has had her shopping happiness taken down a notch. The sales people are not to blame, they have tried with all their might to help me find something I could shimmy into. Maybe I can get them physically on my body. But if when I sit down, you can see the top three quarters of the back of my Saturday panties, well, that's not going to work for this gal. And the new ones that morph over time to fit my body... let's discuss. Actually let's not. That sounds like a good way for me to traumatize the young-ins. I'm seeing in a lot of these reviews that a many YOACAs (yelpers of a certain age) feel they can't find age-appropriate clothes. But, I've watched Blue 7 grow up; maybe someday they'll add a Blue 8 and I'll be able to buy more of my clothes here. If I could, I'd be on Cloud 9 to give this a 5. This is one of my favorite local gift spots--I can almost always find gifts for friends and/or family members. They have such eclectic and fun items, their clothes and shoes are so very cool and stylish. I'm not a big shopper when it comes to clothes and shoes, but if I were, I would spend more money here. It is a bit expensive, but I am always happy to pay a bit more at local stores. I will say, however, they have had some AMAZING Tom shoe sales! I have found Toms cheaper there than any other store or online, & I have bought several pairs for our family during this sale. There is the best candle selection at Blue 7, and their "Made in Oklahoma" shop is awesome--they have fun t-shirts, jewelry and trinkets that pay tribute to our great state. Their selection is witty & smart, ranging from candles that are Oprah's latest favorite thing to the "What to learn from your poo" book that was the perfect hostess gift for my sister at Thanksgiving. The clothes are great, but usually a little young for me. On the upside, when possible, they carry large & extra large sizes for women, which allows me to actually purchase clothes when I do like them (thank you!). Blue 7 also features cool & funky gifts that definitely get your attention and make your gift one to remember. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. They employ the kind of people that make an effort to remember your name when you go back - and go back you should! There is a wide selection of Tom's shoes there. Now if you've never tried on a pair of Tom's Shoes you should - your feet will be in for a treat. They score high in the comfort zone without looking like how most 'comfortable' shoes look - low on the fashion scale. 12/1/16 I felt it only fair to update review. I actually shop here a lot, as it's one of the closest local businesses to my house and I've made an intentional effort to shop more locally. I mainly stick to the JustOK side, which I LOVE. I love the B7 Backed fair trade tees and the variety of OK made goods. I would like to see even more variety and more price points though. We were trying to browse for a gift exchange on small business Saturday with a $10 price cap (so hard!) and we found that extremely difficult to do locally. Here, it was soap or a few magnets, or small (and I mean tiny) paper journal. We ran into this at most local shops, which was slightly disheartening because I feel high price points are why so many people don't shop local. I also still really appreciate the sustainability and fair trade of Blue 7, and I know that it's really a shift in mindset to "buy less and buy quality" that I would love to get too someday. I want to buy sustainable denim but even saving for the year don't think I could participate in Clean Start, but maybe one day lol. For now, I'll do my part with a shirt here and there and learn to be satisfied with less knowing the people that made the shirt are getting proper wages. But really would love to see the JustOK side expand to even more local vendors! read more

One of my favorite shopping experiences in recent times. Which is saying alot..... I am a man and this is my beard. Anywho, the customer service was friendly, helpful, and informative. From hip clothes, funky gadgets, and lots of cool odds and ends, you're gonna find it all here. Plenty of things I didn't even known I wanted until I saw it, like a kid in a flipin candy store. One thing that stands out most in my mind is that they had their own on site T-Shirt press. Which in reality is probably just a iron and ironing board in the back room but hey, maybe I'm wrong :-]. You pick the size and color of shirt, and then pick what you want plastered on it from a few 3 ring binders containing hundreds and hundreds of designs. Most impressive. read more

This city needed a store stocking non-functional irony in the form of the world's biggest underpants, extend-able forks, and Jesus action figures. More useful are the Ugly dolls and miniature modern furniture (e.g. George Nelson's marshmellow sofa). There are clothes too, but frankly there a bit young and hip for me. It is higher end, but good quality. I can always find something to buy when stopping by, and my go to store for gift purchases. The staff can be helpful, you just have to approach them. They have an expansive denim area that could rival Gill's. The women's clothing was pretty weak though. I like the guy section better. I don't know if it is only in Oklahoma that you can get rhinestone jeans AND Toms but you can and its here.They have continually expanded since they opened in this Nichols Hills location. I love all the handmade jewelry and kitschy vintage stuff. I love the sock selection and the mustache selection and the socks with mustaches selection. They have very unicorn/owl/bird/ninja/inserttrendymagicalcreaturehere my little heart could ask for. What they don't have? Enough clothes for full figured ladies. Enough stuff I can afford (though they totally run pretty regular and righteous sales). Enough sparkly overpriced jeans. Just kidding. They totally have enough of that. Actually just stopped by Blue Seven today because my brother had told me that they had some great Oklahoma City and OKC Thunder shirts that weren't "run of the mill". I thought I'd check it out even though I figured there would only be like 3 or 4 shirts to look at. I was pleasantly surprised to find a whole wall with plenty of well designed and unique Thunder shirts as well as Oklahoma based ones. Only thing I didn't like was the price. $30 bucks is a bit more than I usually pay for a t-shirt. Though that's obviously a personal thing and probably because I'm a guy who only buys a $25+ casual shirt once in a blue moon. That being said, I bought two. One for my girlfriend and one for me. The rest of the store is open and well organized. Very welcoming and comforting to someone of my size (tall and wide). I know my girlfriend would love their selection of Tom's shoes and their ladies section in the back. Personally, this store doesn't suit my style as I am rather large and the clothing is more suited for younger, skinnier fellows. Though I see how well executed it is and feel like it deserves to be gloated on. If I had to summarize the store in one word it would probably be "hipster", as that seems to be the overall theme. Not that it's a bad thing! The staff is quite friendly and very helpful, as I was welcomed warmly and asked just the perfect amount of times if I needed any help or if I was finding everything okay. Not overwhelming, but available and helpful. I recommend stopping by and checking it out. I'm sure you won't be disappointed even if you don't find something for yourself during your visit. EDIT: Also forgot to mention that they currently don't accept checks. I really want this place to be better than it is, but the last several times I've been in the customer service has been nearly nonexistent. No one from the store spoke one word to me or my spouse during the 20 minutes we were there, and it was not busy- like 3 or 4 others. No greeting even! Too busy talking about inventory. Why ignore your guests? It's rude. The prices are higher than I would like too. We shop local for gifts as much as possible, and want this place to be an option for us, but you have to have something to justify higher prices, and that's good customer service.
