It was spring so not too bad with bugs. There was a huge thunderstorm the first night so the ground was really soggy the next day. Our tent did not leak but the next day when the sun was out we unpegged it and turned it over for the bottom and the ground beneath to dry out. We had our dog and she and I did several walks on trails. The park restrooms were fine, they do a great job of keeping them clean. About the only negative thing was the erosion next to where we parked our truck, almost a 10 inch drop off but I see this a lot at Texas state parks. I wish the Texas state government would put more into maintenance.

Later that day they gave us a courtesy call to let us know that some storms were coming in and if we were coming in from the west we'd be hitting some significant rain. Pretty nice. Very good RV park. The sites are nice. Not paved but still very good. Small gravel makes it easy to level. Picnic table at each site is on concrete slab. Full hook-ups. When we got there and were hooking up a member of the staff drove by our site and called us by name and asked if we were doing ok. Great service! Very nice large pool. It's open 9:30a-9:30p. They have a volleyball net and basketball hoop so you can play in the pool. Park is pretty large. There is a pond out back where you can go fishing. They have cabins available and a few have good sized decks that overlook the pond. Nice tent area with covered picnic tables and electrical outlet. Would like to have seen grills at each site. Cabins and tent sites seem to have them, but RVers like to BBQ, too. Also some recycling bins would be good. We pulled in after dark and the entrance was not very well lit and there were a lot of cars due to an event in the Rec Center so it was hard to see where we were supposed to park to check in. Overall a good campground. I'd come back.

We found this to be a very nice campground, beautifully maintained, quiet and peaceful, staffed by friendly and gracious people. It is a very scenic place with a nice pool and a pond if you like to fish or just watch the moon rise. We are tent campers, and were happy to see that there was some shelter from the hot Texas sun along with close water and power. We booked in advance and we looked forward to our one night stay in Caddo Mills, but when it was time to leave, we wish we could have stayed several days longer.

This is my second time at the Ranch. The first time, we stayed with friends in their RV. This time,…read morewe stayed in a little cabin and we loved it! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It has an AC and heater combo, a small fridge with a tiny freezer, sink and cabinets, a coffee pot, microwave, and a single burner. There is also a fire pit outdoors and a small BBQ pit. Guests should be prepared to bring their own bedding, dishes, pots, pans, coffee mugs, and other essentials. The view from the cabin is wonderful, and it is hard to find anyone unfriendly at this Ranch. We attended a fun paint and wine event, which was a lot of fun. Mark was the artist he is very talented and a lot of fun! The sunset at the lake is beautiful. The stars in the night sky are bright and beautiful. There are also plenty of RV spots and tents sites available. I can't wait to go back.

Run by the Corsicana Parks and Recreation Department, this Beach Park has a nice, sandy beach area…read morewhere you could potentially sunbath or swim with an alligator if you'd like - as the signs state "Swim at Own Risk" just above "Alligators Have Been Sighted in This Area". Maybe I'm not carved from the same metal as Texans from East Texas. Despite being an avid swimmer, I haven't yet warmed up to the idea of swimming in a lake where alligators have been sighted. But hey, to each their own! I've swam in the ocean many times. Sharks have been spotted there so maybe this is similar!? Just know that you can potentially knock "swimming with alligators" off of your bucket list by swimming at this lovely beach;). This beach park also includes gravel parking and four, nicely spaced shelters with picnic tables and grills, not a bad place to spend an afternoon or evening;)

Enough trees in the area to hang several hammocks and set up chairs. All the cabins are close by to each other so camping with a group is made easy. We made the decision to rent a golf cart to drive around on - made life so much easier! We are already planning our next trip back!
