Friendly people... set up with the fire pit and dock was great ... one suggestion is to have wider cement pads ... so the stairs to your RV are not in the mud... Also would have liked to set up my awning on the passenger side but drop off from the pad was too dangerous... we might consider coming back but will not choose that site # 27... read more

We loved camping here! We got a cabin and it was designed quite nice - two beds included. Nice fire pit and grill outside. Enough trees in the area to hang several hammocks and set up chairs. All the cabins are close by to each other so camping with a group is made easy. We made the decision to rent a golf cart to drive around on - made life so much easier! Excellent amenities. We booked an enclosure for 2 nights in October. The check in was a breeze. The shelter was clean. The bathrooms on-site were cleaned daily. The deer were very comfortable with humans which made the wilderness experience great. Will recommend 100%. read more

My brother and I stumbled on this park while driving around on the morning of the eclipse looking for a good location near the centerline. When we drove up we saw they were having an eclipse viewing event and they were only charging $6/person for entry. The park was very clean and the event was well organized. The staff were all very nice and the restrooms were clean. The park had plenty of room for everyone at the event and it was a perfect setting on the shores of Lake Tawakoni. Extremely friendly. We started going about a year ago and have been 3 or 4 times. Very clean but the sites are close. There are plenty of deer near the wooded sites for your kids to observe. We recently reserved a long term site and walked through talking to a few families. All were very personable and complimented the park. If you're looking for a place close to Dallas just to get away for the day, it's not a bad drive and the facilities are nice. read more

We just moved out to Lone Oak and stumbled upon this place. We drove through the park and it looked pretty amazing. Great scenery, completely filled with people camping / in cabins, etc. The people working there seemed very friendly and it was very clean! read more

This is our absolute FAVORITE private park in Texas! Highly recommend renting a cabin with a water front view. With that you get a private pier to fish off or if you have kids, to jump off lol. They sell whole corn to feed the deer, and there are tons of them.. babies to adults. The cabins have two beds and A/C (much appreciated in this Texas heat) Even if you're tent camping you'll have a great time. The sites are super private if you do primitive. Everything is kept super clean. They have a place to clean your fish and plenty of places to discard tackle and fishing line, so you don't get the issue of accidently stepping on a hook, like you might at other parks. My only complaint is that the reservations go quick so it can be hard to get a spot when you want it. read more

It is a small and pleasant park with good picnic and tent sites, nice fishing areas, and close (5 mi) to Lone Oak if you need supplies or a restaurant dinner. Admission is fair and the park is clean and has rv hookups, fish cleaning stations, light cabins, restroom buildings. Dogs are welcome if leashed and controlled. read more

Not good from day one. We understood that we had tent with electric. When we got there they said it was not. Lady at the front was very rude. Their beach area is not a beach area. We found another spot for the kids that were little to swim to be told that they could not swim there and had to go to the beach area. It was earl literally a drop off to the water that isn't safe for little ones. Even with a life jacket. That's where the problems really started with the staff that works there. We rented a golf cart for the weekend. We were told after our teenage kids had rode around on it for the night that you had to have a drivers license in order to drive the golf carts. But it was only our kids apparently because all weekend long there were kids a lot smaller than ours driving them around. They decided to take our golf cart completely away. All while still, others were running around on them. We were also told we had to turn down our music at 2pm while others had their blasting all day. Music has to be turned off completely by 10 pm. Which I think is ridiculous especially for a camping holiday weekend. We then were harassed by the police sitting in front of our area the entire day into the night. But I guy guess maybe the lake isn't their property due to kids even smaller DRIVING jet skis on the lake. we camp every year for Memorial Day weekend. A huge group of us that we have never had an issue and we are always super clean, even picking up trash after everybody else. This place was absolutely ridiculous! I do not ever recommended anyone coming here. Especially since it's not even a quiet place to begin with. Traffic around the so called primitive area is horrible. we won't ever be returning here. read more

Wind Point Park is a little paradise located very close to Dallas. It has all the amenities for any kind of camper: RV hookups, campsite, cabins, shelters, fishing, a lake, a playground for kids, and so much more. We stayed in a cabin, and it had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable and great weekend: clean and perfect for an inexperienced camper wanting a camping experience! The air is fresh, the grounds are impeccably clean and beautiful, there's an abundance of wildlife (which especially delighted the kids), and we enjoyed an evening of talking/making s'mores with friends around a campfire while the stars were out in full effect. If your parents took you camping as a kid, I can't promise that you won't feel a little (or a lot) nostalgic. My only regret is that it took almost 4 years of living in Dallas to get here! The kids have been talking about it nonstop since we left, and I know we'll continue to come back. Wind Point park is one of those special, memorable places that you and your children will remember and recall fondly, 30 years from now. read more

Wind Point Park is a great place to get away for the weekend or for vacation if you love to fish as I do. It has all the amenities that one needs to be comfortable for a great camping experience. I am not a cabin person I have rented the screened shelters multiple times and I am always please with my stay. Lots of upgrades have taken place since last year. One thing that I would compliment Wind Point Park on is the Cleanliness of the restrooms which have hot shower and are heated during winter months. We have just recently spent the weekend in a screened shelter and we couldn't have had a better time anywhere else. I will be returning for future camping trips. read more
