They provided a free donuts one morning and gave us all free coupons for the coffee/food truck the maintenance guy not only filled up my mom's flat tire twice, but then took it across the street to the tire shop to get it fixed. Who does that?! When we asked about checkout time, the comment was "well no one else is coming for your spot, we're not gonna chase you out of here" unbelievable! Other campsites are so strict about checkout times then they can be rude amazing amenities, nice pool, wish it had more shade. Movie theater, pool table, ping-pong, table, what else can I say we loved it.

I have a 45' Class A pull a toad. When I called to make reservations the manager did not hesitate to tell me they could accommodate my length. Getting to the park requires a trip down a narrow street with low hanging branches and branches encroaching into the street resulting in multiple scratches on the sides of the RV. There was no place to turn around in the street and backing up was out of the question too. Upon arriving to the park the OPEN sign was lite, but the office door was locked. Made a call to the afterhours number and the manager showed up. She again reiterated the park could accommodate my Class A and toad. She showed me my site. More low hanging branches and more scratches on the RV. It became obvious very fast this was not going to be a good outcome. Multiple trees prevent the required tight turns to get into the sites, even after disconnecting the toad. I finally called it quits and told the manager I was going to have to go someplace else. She acknowledged I was not going to fit into a site, apologized, and said she would issue a refund right away. She never did issue the refund. I then filed a dispute on my credit card when she disputed after telling me she would issue a refund. Before I left, one of the permanent guests told me he had never seen a bus in the park and also agreed there was no way I could fit.

I have some acreage near Palestine but it's so rough I couldn't get my 34' travel trailer in…read morewithout dragging, so I set out to look for a commercial RV park close by. Man, was I happy to find Palestine RV Park! It's a fairly small park tucked away in the trees, with many long-term residents. However, they also cater to short term stays. I had my trailer there for four days. The sites are huge, with 30 and 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer. Roads in and around the park are asphalt paved, but the sites are unpaved, and it's fine sand that gets in EVERYTHING, so be sure to bring some doormats or something. The park is quiet (park rules say that quiet hours are from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, lol) and pitch dark at night, but there are pole lamps at the sites that you can plug in and use if you need additional lighting. Angela, the owner, met me at the gate in her UTV and led me directly to my site, where she did the paperwork and payment, then offered to help me set up my trailer! There's a nice laundry and shower building near the entrance. The park has controlled access with keypads and a gate controller, and you can come and go as you please. Everyone I encountered there was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay there again! p.s. Be sure to look for Bigfoot when you're there! ;-)

The pull thru are for overnighters was well maintained, clean and level. The shower rooms were also nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The showers/restrooms were well thought out with decor and quality of fixtures. The only less than perfect for me, the set up in the showers were a little awkward as there was very little room or places to keep clothes dry while showering and then changing, I am personally not a fan of public changing rooms. All of the staff we encountered were very nice and appropriately chatty, friendly and welcoming people. Definitely recommend this place.

Subdued, tasteful, mostly utilitarian decorating instead of overload you see in some cabins or B&Bs. Hosts literally thought of EVERYTHING you might need, name it. An extremely well-stocked kitchen & bathroom & shockingly generous supply of edibles/drinkables/goodies. We used the chiminea (fat sticks easily gleaned from yard to feed it) & also the little grill, nice. Enjoyed the whimsical yard art, again, liked their tastes. There was even a bottle tree outside to trap bad spirits, must be doing its job, lol. Reception for Wi-Fi and cell good. There were CDs & DVDs & a player but the TV also had cable, so 7 channels, I think, hope you like old Westerns & Forensic Files reruns, we did. Of the few DVDS they had, one was an older fave of ours, The Good Girl, so great to see again. Was cool, rainy weekend so we didn't walk afield, maybe next time but then next time might order up another rainy weekend, works for us. A few times we heard a braying donkey neighbor some distance, didn't bother us, made up for not hearing or seeing much of the wildlife other reviewers talked about. Did see birds, squirrels and an armadillo. When I say hosts thought of everything, I mean it, no, really, you'll find every single little thing you'd ever need, plus books to read (finished one from home and left it & a magazine for the stack) & cabin had a binder of instructions about anything & everything inside the place (check it out, we found lots of crucial info in there) plus a roundup of local things to do, nice mentions of the very fine Caldwell Zoo & the Tyler State Park. We welcomed guidance on how to start shower (pull ring down from faucet, aha!). If I had to say anything remotely negative it's that the steep stairs challenged me as I'm recovering from an injury. But the bed at the top made up for it. What else. Well, it was just nearly too perfect & afraid we might have trouble booking it during later, finer weather. We'd gone there for the singer-songwriter series, this one for the insanely talented Jeff Black who performed at the Old Firehouse. We had to skip out of the performance halfway through & head home early, ever-on-call husband had sudden work obligation pop up so we didn't get all the good out of Edom, our cabin & the concert, but we still left happy.
