We've had Blue Smoke's yummy food at several events and it's always so good! The owners are super nice and are very talented caterers.

We had Blue Smoke cater our wedding and it was absolutely incredible! We had 50 guests. Everyone said how great the food was and they were happy to have GOOD wedding food for once. Best food I've had at a wedding ever! At our venue he set up the main dinner food like a buffet instead of having the truck, which worked wonderfully. We had sausages, brisket, ribs, and a variety of sides. We had a charcuterie table, and two passed appetizers for our cocktail hour and it was beautiful and delicious. We also had late night pulled pork tacos and those were a hit as well. He can make basically anything you would want. I'm so glad we went with blue smoke! The price was very reasonable, nothing like what you would expect for wedding catering, yet they went above and beyond to make it easy for us! We provided our own plates and silverware/napkins but they had everything else. We actually bought metal bbq trays and had deli paper printed with photos of us and everyone thought that was super cute and a unique touch so I loved that we got to choose our own for that. They also helped facilitate serving our cake and desserts from another vendor. They were very accommodating with our venue coordinator as well, and I'm so thankful everything went so smoothly! There was plenty of food for everyone including all our vendors. We also brought ziplock baggies to send food with guests and ourselves so nothing went to waste. The whole planning process was also great because Justin was so responsive and answered so many questions for me in the months leading up to the wedding. Thanks so much Justin and team! read more

The truck is set up in Three Forks, and hopefully it'll stay. The prices are a little high, but it is well worth it. We had the jerked chicken sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich, and both were fantastic. We both chose the same side... coleslaw. It was the best I've had in as long as I can remember. We had Blue Smoke BBQ cater our wedding in Big Sky, MT and it was fantastic! Justin, in particular, was amazing to work with. We had almost given up on finding good food for our wedding after a particularly awful experience trying to work with La Foley until we came back to our first plan of going with a food truck. Justin promptly responded to emails, called us with questions, and helped us work through all of the details for our 80 person wedding. We had a selection of passed appetizers (caprese skewers, bison meatballs, etc), sliders (chicken, brisket, portobello), ribs, whole chicken, sides (cole slaw, cornbread, baked beans), and late night snacks (pigs in a blanket and grilled cheese crostini). The highlights for me were definitely the brisket, cornbread, and baked beans! Our guests ranted and raved about our food and how delicious it was and why every wedding didn't have BBQ like this. Overall, it was definitely a success and we loved working with Justin the whole way! We would highly recommend him and Blue Smoke to anyone! We should note, however, that Justin will tell you himself (as of the writing of this post) that they are not caterers and do not have your standard catering supplies. We did some work on our end to make sure Justin was set up for success. For example, we purchased silver serving platters for his staff to use while passing food, we purchased nicer plates, silverware, napkins, serving dishes, etc to use instead of the paper boats he typically serves off of, and we specified the timing and serving method of all of the dishes. Justin was flexible and open to what we wanted and did an amazing job pulling all of this off with his staff. In the end, he provided amazing food and fantastic service at a great price. Exceptional food. Great service. Good value for the money. We had Bluesmoke cater my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner for about 40-45 people. We had the brisket, chicken, green salad, Mac n cheese, and potato salad. Everything tasted amazing. All of our guests commented on how they loved the food, especially the brisket. Justin was so nice and helpful to work with. We picked up the food and served it ourselves at the venue. Justin had serving dishes and utensils ready for us and thought of details I would have missed otherwise. He made the whole experience very turnkey for me, which is great because I'm not a person who is good at details and hostessing. We will definitely come back and would heartily recommend Bluesmoke to anyone. read more

We tried this BBQ for the first time for supper the day after our wedding last year. Every time we have gone back, it's been consistently delicious. I freely admit that I am a full on BBQ snob, and I think this place is legit. It's a little on the pricey side for BBQ, but I still think it's worth every penny. Highly recommend. read more

Best BBQ in bozeman. St.Louis ribs and brisket are among the best I have had. Mac and cheese, coleslaw were also very good. The beans were ok, nothing spectacular. read more

(The best bbq in the country started that way) the side I had not good(Mac and cheese) very grainy but I don't chase down bbq all over the country for sides now the meat was a diff story had the Santa Rosa tri tip awesome smokey moist tender unreal served on a good bun top notch over all 4 stars. We've often lamented at the realization that no one knows how to prepare even decent bar-b-que in Bozeman (or the surrounding areas). For such a carnivorous state, this just baffled us. Finally, though, we have an excellent stop. Everything we have ordered here has been fabulous: the beer brined chicken is succulent and smokey - the ribs are delicious - the sausage is phenomenal; I like the tangy sauce / my partner loves the spicy green peppa; the coleslaw is tangy and fresh. Outlandishly good BBQ! Bozeman's a college town, where we take education seriously. As such, we Bozemanites must demand that all MSU students be required to have dinner at Blue Smoke BBQ (yes, even the veg-heads) with extra credit for return trips. No other establishment in the valley can effect so profoundly these impressionable minds about how beef brisket, pulled pork, and--my stars--the smoked ribs should taste for this uniquely American style of cooking. I attended an event today that Blue Smoke catered. I'm sure their food is delicious if you can get any. I waited for 30 min in line, and in that time, they never took one order. Only 6 plates came out to people who had been waiting in that time. Whenever someone tried to ask the person behind the window about how much longer their order might be, the lady was very short. I get they were busy, but they were hired to feed a lot of people today, and I don't think that there is any excuse for not being prepared to feed them in a reasonable time. About a dozen of us had to get back to work hungry, including the valued contractor I invited to join me. All they were serving was pulled pork on a bun. How can it take so long to do that? We had Blue Smoke cater my dad's 70th birthday party while we were visiting from California and Oregon. We were all blown away with the quality of the food. First, Justin was so accommodating and helpful in the planning stages--responsive, good recommendations and flexible. Second, they delivered the food to Blue Sky for our event and were on time and pleasant. Third, and most importantly, the food was so amazing!! We had the brisket (my favorite), the ribs (total crowd pleaser) and pulled pork (yummy) along with many of the sides. The food was devoured by kids and grown-ups of all ages (the Mac n'cheese was a kid favorite and delicious) and the reviews from all ages were unanimously effusive. Seriously, this was some of the best BBQ most who attended had ever had, including some of the Montanans in attendance. If you want BBQ and are in Bozeman, go.
