Stayed in the area for one week and ate here three times! Casual spot with outside tables, weekly bands which added to the ambiance with mouth watering BBQ! Service was relaxed and friendly

My husband and I stopped on our way back from Yellowstone and I am SO glad we did! Such a fun place with great bbq!

I don't know how we've lived in the area for so long and are just finding out about Follow Yer Nose. We stopped in on our way home from Gardiner and I'm glad we did. Definitely one of the best bbq spots I've had on this side of the state! The brisket was smoked to perfection-great flavor and not dry at all. There's nothing I despise more than a dry, chewy brisket. My husband isn't typically a fan of pork ribs and he loved these! They were falling off the rib just like real bbq should. The sides were good, we had baked beans and mac & cheese, but they don't compare to the flavor you get from the bbq meats. I'm usually a sauce girly but it wasn't needed here. I actually think the sauces took too much away from the smokiness of the meat. The peppa sauce though...so good! Everyone we interacted with was very friendly. It was a great time overall with a very laid back, local vibe. We'll definitely be back.

I finally stopped by to see if the reviews were accurate (i.e., great bbq). Yep. Really good brisket, the sauces are excellent and even the pickles are surprisingly good. Only downside... No coke zero.

The food here is phenomenal. Alex helped us decide on what to get and she was great. We almost passed the place because it's so small but definitely recommend this for anybody in town.-Emigrant, Montana You will not be disappointed.. Sitting outside in a nice breeze with these views just made it even better.

Seek this place out! Travel to Montana JUST FOR THIS! It's a fair drive from Montana's most populated areas, but it's well worth it, especially considering the price. I was introduced by a local and have since spent a cumulative total of about 12 hours traveling just to share this spot with family and friends. Everything on the menu exceeds expectations, the staff are friendly, and there's truly only one place in the world where you can enjoy such incredible food in such a scenic setting. Savor the barbecue while you take in those mountains.

This was recommended to us as a "must try" while in MT. I'm glad we stopped! We've tried different bbq spots throughout the US and this is one of the best we've ever had. The whole set up of the place was fun. It has cool outdoor seating, lights, and good country music playing. I tried the brisket, sausage, loaded pasta salad, and coleslaw. My wife tried the dancing ned and she enjoyed it. I'd recommend everyone should at minimum try the brisket and loaded pasta salad. Bonus tip - they own the bakery nextdoor too. The cinnamon roll was out of this world for dessert and the chocolate pecan toffee cookie was a close second.

There was a line when we went there on a Thursday night at 7pm, so we waited about 45 minutes. I think it was due to a popular singer having a concert next door. We ordered a couple of drinks at the bar as we waited. The cider was good. I nice lady/local in front of us recommended the Brisket so we had to get that. I thought it was good but a bit too fatty for me; over 50% of what we got. We also had the pulled pork, half a chicken (that's the only thing my child would eat, and unfortunately, they didn't have children portions), collard greens, and beans. Meats fell off the bone, beans were sweet, greens were greens. I'm not a fan of benches, but that's the only seating option. It's a fun atmosphere with a good vibe.

A full order of Baby Back Ribs, 6 oz of beans and the jalapeños.

We stopped by this place on our way back from Yellowstone. Amazing. We got there about 6pm on a Saturday night and the menu was slim I am sure due to selling out most of their offerings. We split the baby back ribs, beans and candied jalapeños. All are a must. The ribs were done to perfection. The beans were perfectly cooked with a sweet flavor and the candied jalapeños with their subtle heat was a welcomed surprise. Cold beer on tap and their sauces were a nice variety. Stop here if you can!

The food was ready in maybe 10 minutes max despite the large order size. There is not much paradox of choice going on here with just two protein options - turkey and pulled pork - and five or so sides including cheesy corn, collard greens, coleslaw, and baked beans. The turkey was great - moist, with some nice additions (apple maybe?). The pork was fine but a tiny bit dry. The cheesy corn was a tad oily but the rest of the sides were great, especially the collard greens. It's located in an outdoor area where there is an open-air bar and corn hole, so you can essentially be at the barbecue place and an outdoor bar at the same time. Overall, a few tiny tweaks could be made to the food but it was a very enjoyable experience and soul-comforting food.

I wish I had gone there earlier in my stay just for the ambience lol. There are many things to question about Gardner Montana ;)However, the Gardner market was not one of them. Everybody in there was so polite and friendly. I couldn't believe it. Every time I asked for something everybody was incredibly helpful and there were some really nice ladies that were just totally friendly. The store is stocked to the brim. I would highly recommend the Gardner market to anyone and just remember when you're on a vacation things are more expensive because people are trying to make money in a small town so don't hold that against them. On Wednesday evening we made a last minute decision to stop in for dinner and we are so glad we did. Sat at the bar as we like to do most visits, enjoyed a drink before ordering as we usually do but what came next was above and beyond and I have to share. We ordered our meal, and as my husband sometimes does, he ordered a rib eye and asked it to be cooked " as the chef recommendeds it". He does this all of the time...nothing more comes of it, dinner is served and it works out to be delicious most of the time. This evening there would be a different chain of events that would leave us very impressed. The bartender took it a step further, she decided to actually refer this order to The Chef... He took the time to come out to talk to us. He explained his experience cooking this choice of cut, he made a suggestion, and went into detail explaining the marbling. He offered his recommendation and we agreed. He called it "Pittsburgh Style", It was the best Ribeye we ever had, ( yes I made him share a piece ). I am sad to say we did not aquire this young man's name but we wish to recognize and commend him, not only on the result of the meal, but on his knowledge and dedication. He didn't have to take that extra step, but he did. And to our server/bartender...Kudos!

Our second visit here was Monday evening and the food, service and overall experience was not very good. On Thursday we were given a children's menu, on Monday none was offered. We asked for the BBQ chicken sandwich for my 1 year old, but asked for just the chicken, no bun and the sauce to be on the side. Was served exactly as we asked. On Monday it was served just as it is on the menu, we had to send it back as my baby won't eat any sauce on chicken. Which is why we wanted it on the side so we can continue to try to introduce sauce to him but also get him to eat some plain chicken. On Thursday I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. It was great. On Monday I had the quesadilla with barbicoa beef. The meat was excellent, but the bottom side of my quesadilla was soggy, not crispy at all and wet when it was served to me. On Thursday my husband had the Dizzy buffalo burger with the cheese curds, he liked it. On Monday he had the Westerner sandwich, he said it wasn't great. He ended up only having a couple of bites. I'm not sure what the difference was, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that hopefully they were just having an off night. Round out the two visits at 3 stars. I'd give them another shot if we visit again since one time was a really great experience.
