I have rarely seen a menu where I wanted to order 1 of each but believe me this one brought my accent out. Out of the gate, very quick seating, excellent service! Started with Brussels Sprouts with God's favorite flavoring bacon, with Parmesan, with...sit it down Alabama white sauce. Now, I met Alabama white where it was invented, I love it, and this combination will make Brussels sprouts famous. But, I had to try the hush puppies. Now, real southerners know a good hush puppy is the holy grail of delicious. I'm telling you, these remind me of sitting next to the 'Hooch. Fluffy, crispy, dark...I'm gonna grab another one before this review ends. I chose the fried catfish, Mac & Cheese with creamed corn. Now, I tried to stop eating the cornbread crust and came close to success. The fish was perfection. There are fish coming here to rise above their station! The sides were uniquely and magically delicious but I have to talk about my husband's food. He had brisket, ribs, Cole slaw and smoked green beans. I've never seen this man not clean his plate, but everything was so generous his full meter got pegged. Tons went home, everything was so elevated the Cole slaw, everything. I think the white bread was special (it was hella) fresh. Now, here's a fact, all tables are high or picnic style. I love the idea for a group, but I would have appreciated a back. The brisket was dry and could've used a little more sauce to moisten it up. The mac & cheese was, well, it was. They use shells instead of macaroni for the pasta, and no distinct flavor. We were on vacation and happened to find this spot on Yelp and it definitely didn't disappoint. Everyone's meal was so flavorful, perfectly cooked and delicious. We started with fried pickles they we the best ones I've had they come with a green chili we asked for a side of ranch and delicious combo. I ordered a huckleberry mule so refreshing and tasty. For dinner I got a chopped brisket sandwich with fries and coleslaw very flavorful and hit the spot I had enough leftover to take home. Great spot we happened upon! I appreciate a cool menu and the vibes of this venue. One challenge is seating as we are senior citizens and they have mostly high-top tables. We took the end of the large picnic table with wooden benches. I tried the CBC cocktail which was very tasty. The Hubbs and I shared the Brussels sprouts, the burnt ends, and the redneck charcuterie platter. I liked the homemade pimento cheese and crackers. They expected 3 adults but not the toddlers and that it changes the table situation. I told them I said it in the comments of the res and they said they don't look at those because it's at the bottom of the page. @ 7:05 seated. @ 7:20 had to go up and tell the host that we still haven't seen our server and that tables that came in after us have been visited multiple times. @7:25 waitress walks up like no big deal and takes our drink orders. @7:35 drinks show up and takes our food orders. Waitress kept bringing my friend beers but the rest of us who just had soda never saw a refill. @8:30 nothing came so we asked to get cashed out @8:35 owner came out and comped our meal and brought out our food in a to-go bag and apologized. Arrived at Bourbon after a 2 1/2 hour drive from Great Falls on our way to the Bozeman International Airport. We arrived around 2 PM and found the restaurant almost vacant. That wasn't bad at all, because we got first rate service by Madeline. Dropped in with about 8 friends on a Wednesday afternoon. Wings are on sale on Wednesdays. They honor their name with an extensive Bourbon menu. I came here to try some Burnt Ends but they didn't have any (they had been out for a few days). I liked the breading on their fried pickles. The Nashville Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with added slaw was good but a bit messy (definitely more peppery than hot). The Brisket Ruben paired with their BBQ sauce was a slam dunk! Smoked green beans were excellent. Collard greens were okay. Fries were crispy but average. I would recommend this place. Lily, our server was really nice. The wait staff was very attentive and nice, BUT...they were out of pretty much out of everything on the menu, BUT, they took AMAZING care of us by comping the bill as it was quite a long time to get served as well. I stopped by Bourbon on a Friday night for some take out. This place was hoppin', looked like every table was taken, but there were a few seats at the bar. A country band was gonna take the stage around 10p it seemed. There wasn't really a host stand, so I was a bit confused where to order. The bartender said I could order with him, but he was sort of new so couldn't answer any of my menu questions. Literally none of them. I got pulled pork with Cole slaw and Mac n cheese (with bacon bits) for $17, and ordered a rotating sour (kiwi & strawberry) on tap to drink while I waited. Food took about 20 minutes to come out. Luckily I checked the bag because they gave me collard greens instead of Cole slaw and no utensils. The pulled pork was ok, I've had better. Some of it was tender but some was a bit more chevy/crispy. It was also a bit dry, even when I added a side of BBQ on top. The Mac n cheese was ok, shells were tender but the bacon didn't do much for me and the cheese was a bit watered down. I guess the Cole slaw was the best part of the meal (and the sour beer at the bar). In short, lots of ups and downs. It was decent enough to try something else in the future, but won't have me rushing back for more. read more

Hmmm....hard to judge because I'm not really a bourbon person. The service was spot on and they also have a very nice beer and wine selection, as well as tons of bourbons and whiskies. Came for lunch at a weird time (3:00) on a Sunday. From the beginning they were off to a bad start. Bartender sat us with not even a hello. Ordered 3 meat bbq plate. There was about 3 other people inside eating so not sure why it took 40 mins for my food to come out. All bbq was cold, the brisket was dry, sausage was hard and dry and the ribs were okay but no flavor. Potato salad had zero flavor and baked beans tasted like bush beans out of a can. As a bbq lover I was so disappointed. After our hike of the Drinking Horse Trail, we were hungry and decided to go to Bourbon because we wanted to try something new that we do not have in Reno. There were three of us and one got the charcuterie board, brusselsprouts, another got the burnt ends and I got the smoked wings. The food was delicious, it had flavor and the service was amazing, very attentive. The atmosphere was hands down the best because they have an indoor seating, a middle area seating and an outdoor seating. We got some sun and some A/C. It also wasn't busy when we went as well. Came in to Bourbon for a dinner one evening. I'm a master certified BBQ judge, so I'm extremely picky about the BBQ that I eat. To summarize: this will satisfy 75-80% of people who decide to dine here. Burnt ends were tasty. They could have had a little more of the fat rendered out, but all in all a good offering. Ribs were solid. I prefer individual bones versus a three-bone presentation, but that's just me. Sausage was EXCELLENT! Easily the highlight of the meal. Brisket was also solid. I asked for moist brisket. Turkey was extremely disappointing -- decent flavor, but it was drier than a popcorn fart. Collards were bland. Cheese grits were good flavor wise but a bit grainy. Sadly, today I have to update my review. Today was not 5 stars. We ordered the deviled eggs to start. They were rubbery and small, tiny portions. Three eggs for 15.00 should be hand peeled boiled eggs, these seemed like they were pre-boiled and bought from the store. Nothing great. I get that eggs are 8.00 a dozen right now, but if quality can't be provided, just take it off the menu all together. I ordered the turkey sandwich. There really wasn't any flavor. Just bland. We also ordered the fried chicken, collard greens and elotes salad. The fried chicken was dry. Even the thigh meat. Super disappointed. The elotes would be so so much better if it was warm, like you'd get it down south. The mac and cheese was really good! Worst bbq I've ever had. Turkey was between cold and room temp, and super dry. Pulled pork had un-rendered fat that was hard and the meat had a really weird flavor, also dry. The baked beans were undercooked, but had good flavor. The green beans were also undercooked, the seasoning was clumpy, and there was no "juice". If I could give 0 stars, I would. Last night, we attended the Alpenglow Festival and decided we would go to Bourbon to have some appetizers and drinks. We sat at the bar for a minimum of 15 minutes without ever being acknowledged. It was by no measure busy, even for a Friday night. The bartender that appeared to be serving our side of the bar actively ignored us the whole time. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years, I try to be understanding of circumstances, but there were no circumstances that could ever justify this poor of service. Even a table touch or an, "I'll be with you shortly," would have sufficed. Not everyone is capable of providing customer service, but Helen Keller would have done a better job. I have lived in the south for over 30 years. Ii feel I'm an expert on brisket and baby back ribs. This is some of the best I've had. The brisket is flavorful, lean, and just SPICY enough to get your attention. A nice blend of Carolina and Texas. The ribs were incredible m, with the meat in between the ribs the most I have seen ever. No excess fat. Moist and fall off the bone finish. The sauce was tangy and not too spicy. Again, perfect. I ordered coleslaw which had a mayonnaise base which I'm not a fan of but if you are in sure you will find it to your liking. The beer was cold and delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. LOVE this spot. Are here twice on a recent trip: 1) enjoyed their happy hour - get everything! It's the comfiest food for cold winter nights. The hot toddy w cardamom and the smoked green beans stood out as did the hush puppies. 2) popped in for some local live music and really enjoyed the local's vibe.
