The bedroom smelled like urine, so we left the windows open while we slept, even though there were no screens on the windows. I'm baffled by reviews that say the coffee and breakfast was great, because the breakfast is just prepackaged pastries. The pool looked great but they do cover it up at 9 PM and you cannot swim after that time. Also, when we pulled in there was a guy working on his vehicle and parked in front of our door. My advice: look for a better place to stay.

Green Willow Cottages are the best in comfort, quiet,cozy, and nice people in the court to talk to every day. Wildlife walking thru the acre of courtyard and cabins. I fed the Deers every day. At night, I fed Raccoons and black squirrels in the morning. I absolutely adore Green Willow. I am not sure why they are closed temporarily, but Dan and Mimi, the managers, are absolutely great people persons. They are always eager to help. Last time I stayed there. I had just settled in to #4 Cottage, which is where I always stay when there. I went outside to sit in one of the Adirondack chairs on the porch. Dan walked out of the house with a plate full of steaks and spaghetti squash. He was putting them on the grill. I didn't have to yell because I was close. Dan looked at me. I said what time do we eat jokingly. He got the foods on the grill said it would be just a few minutes. I waved and chuckled. It was late afternoon toward evening and I really was hungry. I went in the cottage to wash up. We were going to go down to a local Mexican Food place I like to eat with. Next thing I know. Here stands Dan with two steaks and 2 halves of Spaghetti Squash. I opened the door and said Dan I was Only kidding. He said I know, but it's late. You've been on the road for several hours today. Take this and enjoy it with our complements. That folks is the kind of great managers Dan and Mimi are. I hope they are open and around when I had that way this year late August. I do love Manitou Springs Colorado. Love to go to Colorado City as well. Thing about Manitou, you can leave mid morning drive in any direction and be back in time for dinner. It is a great base camp, and I love exploring in that area. Joseph is very kind and sincere, he went above and beyond for my little family for the last year and I am very thankful. There's a rental screening process and required deposit for move-in, but this ensures adequate safety for all the guests. The hotel rooms are apartment style and well-maintained (no carpet, thankfully!) ; with pet-friendly options, comfortable Queen size beds, stovetop in larger rooms or induction plate in smaller sizes, window AC unit, and Direct-TV as well. Ample storage space, more than any extended stay you find. Convenient laundry room on property. All guests are generally clean and friendly, which is nice considering N Nevada Ave. is a very busy location. Also, a nice little yard to walk your dogs with a great view of Pikes Peak. It was clean but I felt the entire place was a free for all. I am not a big group type person and was kind of retreated and stuck in my room. Then the main house is huge and beautiful but the community rooms were messy- the kitchen was just gross in the middle of the day. There was a vending machine but the one breakfast offered was NOT at an appropriate time for me or my daughter. I eat before 8am and I could have made it until 9 am but the cooking wasn't even started and the kitchen was still trashed by 10 am the next morning. There was still a stinky pizza box on the counter when I was looking for a cup of coffee and we had left to eat every single time so we had eaten by the time the breakfast was being started and the guy cooking (NOT THE REGULAR CHEF) wasn't even started by 9:30 and honestly looked hung over as heck. I do not feel I got a $300 experience at all. It felt like I went to a big house party and paid too much to be there. I could have had a better time at a private air BnB where I had to cook and clean myself. I am not exaggerating even a little this was a horrible experience for me and even if they offered me a free stay there another time I would absolutely decline to do so. The whole thing taught me that I am not a bed and breakfast type person unless breakfast is before 8am and the people running the place are WAY MORE TIDY; (at least having coffee made earlier than 8am); I didn't enjoy my stay the way I had hoped I would and it wasn't comfortable enough to lounge at for me. I thought it would be great for my service dog also and he didn't mind the festival going on but this place isn't designed to have a festival. There isn't enough space. Other people were just hanging out everywhere also smoking cigs. Yuck! I am fine with. Cannabis anything but cigarettes in my breathing air is not ok with me. Ever. So if I have to smell that I will not be pleased. It could prossibly be better on a weekend when there isn't anything extra happening. The event was a complete joke but that absolutely wasn't because of the Inn or any of the Inn staff but it ruined my experience. In fact I spent all day in Manitou not at the festival. The town is amazing and fun it was the best part of our trip being anywhere but our room. NOTICE: I did get to meet the regular chef from the Inn he was kind and friendly but definitely frustrated himself over it all. So, I am sorry I have to leave this review but it absolutely is not some place I would recommend now. It really was filthy in the main house. I wish I had been there when the regular staff was in charge. I had a better stay at the La Quinta in Pueblo on the way to Manitou and that isn't much so hand up I have to be honest and this was my real experience. There are no pictures of my room or the house because like I said I was not even impressed enough to take one. Not even one. The pictures posted by others is real but they got the clean version not weekend at Bernie's like me.
