Instead, let me just tell you why they rock: 1. They always have van cabs, which never used to matter because four people can easily fit in the back of a normal-sized cab, but apparently there's been some sort of crack-down on cab companies lately and now they refuse to take five people, or they ask beforehand if you're going to tip them big (like you're going to tell them no...). Van cabs eliminate this struggle and, as an added bonus, everyone gets a seatbelt! 2. They drive quickly, but not so fast you're pressed up against the seat with your eyes closed praying for it to end. The last time I rode with a Yellowcab driver, he was crossing himself as he tore through LA post-bar-closing traffic. Umm, if gets to that point, JUST SLOW DOWN. We're not in that big a hurry. Metrocab drivers, in contrast, are speedy, but not in an actual Hey-do-you-know-where-I-could-score-some-speed way. 3. The drivers are super friendly, and they speak English. Which makes sitting shotgun and having to make small talk with the driver a hell of a lot more tolerable than when its some grumpy chain-smoker who yells at you because he can't understand the address you're giving him. Our last Metrocab driver dropped us off and cautioned us to watch our drinks and not to talk to strange dudes. 4. They know where they're going. Last night I hopped into my Metrocab and hesitatingly told the driver the name of the place we were going to, which was not exactly nearby or well-known. To my surprise not only did he know exactly where it was but he ASKED US how we would prefer to get there (seriously, there should be an additional star for this. I have had so many bad experiences in the past); he also called up another acquaintance of his and asked if traffic was clear on our chosen route. In the future, I will be calling Metro Cab for any and all excursions.

The van he drove was more than enough room and the car seat worked fine. So yes, even with the price, I give this five stars bc it eased my anxiety on traveling with a toddler and needing a car seat. I researched a couple transport options and different car companies before settling on Go Ride as I…read moreneeded to transport 3 kids which all required a car seats as per California Law. Uber car seat didn't seem to be a reliable option and ride hailing services required a super far transfer to another pickup location. The bus was also triple the time to our destination near the cruise port. Go Ride was very clear about their pricing and they were detailed when answering a follow up question I had about pickup time which was fortunate as our flight ended up getting in 30 mins earlier than scheduled. Our driver, Oscar, arrived early to pick us up - I received an iMessage from him before landing using my airline's in-flight wifi - I was able to send him updates as we got off the plane and got our bags. He pulled up within 5 mins of my last message when we had our bags conveniently right outside the terminal. It was so easy I didn't even need to rent the $8 USD luggage cart and my kids didn't have enough time to complain about any wait. Oscar was really helpful with our bags and had all the car seats already installed correctly! All seats were facing the correct direction, solid, tight and the only adjustment needed was for the actual seat belts themselves to secure the kids. Oscar offered us bottles of water and we were off to the hotel. On the way we had a nice chat and he was totally OK with the youngest child crying for a bit while navigating LA's notorious traffic (he said it was light but to me it was busy).
