Long story short, we needed a car set and Uber didn't help us. We contacted flat rate car service and after about an hour of quoting , they got us a car to pick up my wife. Well he couldn't get into the LAXit area where cars pick up passengers so she had to hop in a cab that would take her with no car seat. Already paid the fare, I was expecting a fat no on a refund even though the driver spent an hour trying to get in. They said ok on refund! I said lets split it so the driver would get his fare and they ok'ed that. I would use Flat Rate car service as they could have told me to kick rocks. read more

While I received timely communication regarding payment and confirmation of my reservation, I found that the actual service provided was lacking. While I received a prompt notification from FRS and our driver, Tim, about his identity and how to contact him, I was very unhappy with the overall service he provided. I texted Tim immediately when we landed and let him know that we would still need to deplane and get our bags. He told me where to meet him. Once we had our bags, I texted him to let him know that we would be coming out. He then told me that he was "on his way." We waited on the curb for more than 35 minutes after I told him that we had our bags. I was particularly unhappy with this because others with whom we had travelled had also contracted a ride with your service, and THEY WERE ALL AT HOME BEFORE WE WERE EVEN PICKED UP. The situation was made worse--in my opinion--when my husband observed that Tim was going the wrong way, and Tim snapped, "This is the right way." While Tim's route was certainly one that took us home, a less defensive attitude might have resulted in him asking if we had a preferred route--which we did. read more

This is a really caring company. I called to get a ride from LAX to Burbank with just a few hours notice with a 12:30am pickup. At first they couldn't do it, but then they said they would see if they could make it happen. Called me back with an offer to do it - it was understandeably expensive and they offered to hold the reservation for me for 30 minutes so I could check around to see if a better rate was available from another reliable company. Driver in a black Prius was a minute early. Very clean vehicle with water in the center console. He offered chargers for our phones as soon as we got in his vehicle. We stayed at the Sheraton Grand in downtown LA and asked for a pick up of 4pm. We arrived at the airport before 4:30pm. Driver took the expressway, which shortened the drive time and we were not stuck in LA traffic! I would recommend using this car service. THE DRIVER CUSSED AT MY SWEET 70 YEAR OLD MOTHER! I'm never one to leave a bad review, but this experience was completely unprofessional and quite disgusting. The driver expected my mom to exit the airport and go to find him inside a parking lot. He got upset, yelled and cussed at her when she couldn't locate him. Turns out, he was not only at the wrong airline but also the WRONG AIRPORT waiting for her!!! The driver Tim was at BUR, while she was at LAX. When we called the company, they hung up on us! They defended the driver who was upset waiting for her delayed/cancelled flights. Throughout the day we kept in good communication on her flight changes, and were asked to pay an additional fee to switch pickup times/locations which we happily paid for. After several calls to triple check they would get her from LAX and paying the $25 fee, we even received a confirmation from them for the LAX pick up...they go to the WRONG FUCKING AIRPORT AND CUSS AT HER?! I don't care how long you had to wait for her, you do not treat people that way, especially not an elderly woman. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Eventually we were reimbursed for one way of the pick up and the service fee ($175 + $25), and my mom had to navigate taking an uber home. This emotional trauma for my mom (and entire family) could have been avoided if they paid attention to details and went to the right airport/airline, and if Tim actually did his job correctly and met my mom at baggage claim with a card with her name on it. This was my first time using Flat Rate for transport from Pasadena to LAX. The driver, Tom, was EXCELLENT! He was a good 15 minutes early, very friendly, helpful, and professional, and he was a safe driver. The vehicle was clean, comfortable and well-maintained. I got to LAX with plenty of time to spare, thanks to Tom's expertise and early arrival for the pick-up. The only thing about flying that ever causes me any anxiety is getting to the airport on time, especially LAX, Tom saw to it that this was not a concern, which made for a stress-free trip home. Recently used Flat Rate Car Service for the first time after having a "no show" experience with another limo service. My trip was an airport transfer from LAX to Studio City. The communication was great before my flight, and received a text from the driver (Ed) as soon as my plane landed. After collecting my luggage and arriving at the curb-side pick-up location, I texted Ed and he arrived quickly to get us. Ed is one of my favourite limo drivers ever. After three plus years of using this company I would never use them again. I was left high and dry at LAX last night after my flight was delayed 3+hours. Understandably it was midnight however they are a car service and they know and should expect delays and act accordingly. Upon my arrival no text, no email, nothing. We've used Flat Rate Car Service three times and have always had a great experience. My mom has also used them to get from our home to LAX without a problem. They dropped us off at the international terminal and picked us up right on time after a trip to Europe. Drivers are always very friendly, safe, and efficient. The last time we went to the airport there was a quite a bit of traffic; our driver arrived 30 minutes earlier to accommodate us and worked his hardest to find a route that saved time. We planned a lot of cushion time and had no trouble making our flight. When we went to Europe we had two large suitcases and several smaller bags; our driver had no trouble fitting everything inside the vehicle and there were no extra fees involved. We paid exactly what the website had told us to expect. FRCS provided us with water, phone chargers if we needed them, etc. We will continue to use them as it actually was cheaper to have them drop us off & pick us up vs. leaving our car at one of the parking garages surrounding LAX. read more

I booked a pick up for my husband on a late night flight. I booked extra service of being picked up in the terminal with a sign with his name. He did not see any signs with his name on it among the other drivers waiting near the bottom of the escalators. My husband retrieved his own luggage. He approached a gentleman who was located in a different part of the terminal to ask him if he was there to pick someone up. He said he was picking someone else up and didn't bother to show the sign to my husband. It had been directed in an opposite direction of where the passengers were coming from. Driver finally calls my husband as he is heading towards baggage claim. We contacted the company to ask for a refund of $15 charge for the help with luggage and pick up in the terminal. They gave us the run around. I gave them a chance to make it right. Don't use Flat Rate Car Service if you want a reliable, professional service. There are many other options in LA! read more

Have kids? Worried about who to trust to get you to and from the airport safely and on time? Stop your search--you've found the right guys! We needed an SUV for a residential pickup with our two toddlers and family members to LAX and then back from Long Beach Airport. For the pickup, they were early, which was great because we had so much stuff to load and getting the kids in the car with new seats is always extra time. The driver was friendly and super comfortable with the kiddos, and patient with/open to all of our waze suggestions It was a perfect ride! For the airport pickup, these guys truly saved the day. I had sent a confirmation email right before we took off, and it wasn't until we landed that I received an email saying no pickup was currently scheduled...because I had given them the following day incorrectly by accident! Miraculously these guys were able to make a shift and show up literally as our bags were coming off the conveyor belt in time to load us with two car seats ready to go?!
