A friend of mine made a appointment for me without checking with me and I did not want to come to the place. I called the company and told them that a friend of mine made the same-day appointment and I was to call and let them know what services I wanted. I did not see any service that I would like to have because they did not have what I wanted and I told them I wanted to cancel. They said I could not cancel because the appointment was made today and their policy is that they could not cancel. I explained to the lady that a friend of mine just made the appointment not even 20 minutes ago and I do not care to go. They informed me that they would charge her card anyway so I went there so my friend would not get charged. They charged $35 for me to put my foot in a bucket of water for 15 minutes. I am not happy with this place nor the policy and I will never be back here. I asked a worker is this all the service she said yes I put my foot in the water for 6 minutes and left. This is a reply to the answer that they wrote on me, I was not late. They asked me to come in 15 minutes early so I could check out with my other friends who had the nerve to stay there. They were very rude and nasty and was upset because I am telling the truth. I would not recommend this place to a dog! Horrible read more

Quick trip in for express facial, eye brow waxing and magnesium foot soak. Worth every penny...Foot soak was amazing! I walked out feeling light on my feet and now my feet are super soft. Stella did an amazing job on my face. It feels incredibly soft and is glowing. The environment overall is very relaxing and peaceful! The space is very appealing with attention to detail taken. My mom and I have been getting massages for over 30 years and -- unfortunately -- our massages at Blue Water Spa were the worst we've ever had!! Both of our masseuses seemed to be beginners, and had really weird "techniques" which involved poking and shaking, nothing like the traditional relaxing Swedish massage that we're both accustomed to! I'm sorry to say that Blue Water Day Spa is charging top prices for terrible massages. In addition to our bad massages, the whole spa was super noisy today due to construction taking place upstairs. According to their front desk, this loud work has been going on for an entire week but the spa neglected to inform us of the noise nor give us an option to cancel or postpone. Not only was it the worst massage I've had in my life, I'm 79, on the day I was there, I had to abort the 80 minutes because of the pounding, scraping and disruptive noise caused by a new roof overhead being installed. My wife and I have been getting massages here over the last 6 months. We've enjoyed it for the most part and the masseuses here are great. Amanda and Jessica in particular do a great job! They are also located in a very convenient spot in Napa right off the Main Street which is awesome. With all that being said, my wife and I will definitely not be going back. It is far too over-priced and on the last credit we were trying to use I needed to cancel last-minute because of a military duty that came up and we couldn't make our appointment. I called to change about 20 hours prior to the appointment which was commensurate to when I had found out and there was absolutely no exception that would be made due to their 24 hour cancellation policy. This was very frustrating for my wife and I and it honestly left a sour taste in our mouth. This new location is Beautiful and the staff is nice and welcoming as always. I had a massage with Jessica, she did so good, got all my knots, scalp massage was unbelievable. I have an injury that has kept me from getting massages lately but Jessica made me feel so comfortable. I also had a facial with Mandy. The entire facial was so relaxing, she let me know everything that was going on my face without making me feel like she qas just selling products. Mandy had the best personality. I think i talked through most of the facial lol. I had to give her a hug she made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. Cannot wait to go back again. Jessica and Mandy are my new favorite for sure. I used to work in the same building as this spa when the space was shared with Blossom Chiropractic... very familiar with the staff and history of Blue Water Day Spa. Today I booked a 80min couples massage for both me and my mom. We were looking forward to a Girl's Day in Napa! The massage itself was pretty decent. However, the experience turned for worst when the massage was over..For me,a good massage is going to put you to sleep and when the masseuse gently shakes you awake and tells you to take your time getting dressed you feel at ease . After being relaxed and dozing off both me and my mother compared massages per usual and proceeded to get dressed. Suddenly a knock came at the door asking if we were finished. I expressed that we were getting dressed and would be right out. My mother is a woman of a certain age and class who enjoys looking her best so naturally she wants to exit looking presentable. When I exited the room and reached the front desk to pay I was met by the receptionist and who I recognized as one of the owners with a sour look on her face. After the receptionist collected the payment, the owner asked if my mother was finished in the room. Even though her face was sour, I politely smiled and stated that she was just finishing up. She then asked if my mother was "sick" because she was taking longer...I answered with a confused no. She then asked again if my mother was "sick or sickly" because it usually takes 10mins to get dressed and it had been about 23mins and they were fully booked and needed that room. I again stated that she was NOT sick and would be out in a second. I felt truly disappointed and extremely disrespected. I honestly felt more tense leaving this spa than how I felt coming in. I legit spent $400 in this place to leave feeling more dis-ease and anxiety in my body ! After leaving the building my mom expressed that a staff member actually opened the door while she was dressing to see what was taking so long. If you are someone who is elderly, moves a little slower, or even just wants to look presentable after a massage please BEWARE of this place. You only get 10mins to FULLY REDRESS before it becomes a problem!!!! I will never book with Blue Water again! The new building and location is very cute but please go back to the humble attitude that made us once return customers. read more

I had massage and a facial. I like how the massage tables are warm. I also had a foot soak to start, which is a nice way to relax. I wish the soaking tub was more oval instead of round to make room for the feet, the way they angle in from your legs. I went here for the first time last week. It was so easy to make an appt online. they even have same day appts. I came in for a custom facial. I loved the hot towels, different masks, cleansers, and clementine oil on my face. My favorite part which was extra was the cold globes gliding across my face. We used matcha product on my face to calm down the redness on my cheeks. Lorissa was easy to talk to and we talked about sunscreen and exfoliation since I was worried about an acne scar on my face. The place has a victorian boutique vibe. This is not usually my style, but I still wanted to try it out and they provided very good service. read more

I have a masseuse & an esthetician that I see on a regular monthly basis (on different days) but they're in separate locations. So when I want to treat myself for a special occasion, like my birthday, I end up at Blue Water Day Spa in Napa. I love that they have a variety of different packages & add-ons so I can splurge & treat myself to a whole morning or afternoon in relaxation. Today I did the Blue Water Get Away with a body exfoliation, shea wrap, massage, & spa facial. It was AMAZING. I had Angie (?) for my massage & I was so relaxed that I almost fell asleep! I was trying so hard to stay away just to enjoy every single minute of it. I had Larissa for my facial & she was great, I just wish she would slow down with some of her movements? I researched heavily into different spas across Napa to see which would be the best deal and equally provide the best services. Look no further than the lovely Blue Water Day Spa!! I was initially hesitant as I have had a poor experience with a male masseuse before but Andre was extremely professional and very kind. He put me at ease immediately and gave me one of the best massages I've ever had in my life! Seriously, he would target my knots and draw them out, it was insane how good he was at massaging! My husband booked his mom an I a spa day with a massage and facial. The massage was great. I've only had 2 massages in my life but this one was way better than the first. The tech was great about letting me know exactly what we she was doing. The room was tranquil and quiet, very relaxing. The facial was ok, just basic, not personalized or anything but my skin did feel super clean when I left and I don't recall anything making me break out after. My only issue is that when I went to pay they would not accept any of my credit cards that said "see ID" on the back, which all but one did and I didn't want to use that one card. All my cards had my name and i had my ID. They said they had just had a meeting recently and they weren't able to accept cards that said "see ID." I asked if they could run my husband's card that he used to hold the appointment and they said no, which I found strange considering their website says they will charge a fee according to their cancelation policy which I assume is done on the card on file. Just from this short interaction with the lady taking my payment I can sort of see what some of the other reviewers meant about the staff. Despite that mishap, the experience overall was positive. Though I highly recommend posting on the website about the payment stipulation. I'm not sure what they would have done if I did not have a card that didn't say "see ID." read more

Disclaimer: I'm the other half of the Angela C. review, but since there were two experiences, you get two reviews. First, I'd like to qualify my statements by saying that I have worked in customer-focused industries for over thirty years. I've made my share of gaffs, and I've taken my lumps when I was due, and apologized when I didn't need to; that's just good customer service. What we experienced was not this. I'm witness to a back-and-forth of she-said-she-said that never should have happened. There was obviously a mix-up in the reservations. I realized this when my therapist asked me, *before the session*, "so, you have the signature massage, right?" I responded, "no, that should be deep tissue." She heard me, and said that they were essentially the same thing, and that she'd be focusing on what she saw was necessary. In my experience, that's what a good massage therapist does anyway, so I trusted her to do her job. I did hint that I usually got Thai massage, but it appeared to go unnoticed. And I thought it was odd that I got a foot wrap (I couldn't exactly double-check the à la carte menu while I'm prone on the table), but figured it was just part of the deal. And I received a decent, gentle Swedish massage. Massage is tough work with [usually] terrible commission, so I just let it go. There's no absolute metric that says where Swedish stops and deep tissue starts. Frankly, I would have just voted with my wallet and said, "have a nice day," but what played out with the staff next was abhorrent. When we went to check out, the mix-up was apparent. My wife had been offered the deep tissue (and *she* corrected her therapist), and there was no end of silliness about the provisioning for extra services during the session, like "single servings" of CBD oil (really? that stuff costs a few bucks at the grocery). It was quickly apparent that we'd both received the wrong treatments. But, the staff's response to this was, "oh, sorry -- the online booking system can be confusing." Yeah, so maybe use something different instead of blaming it on the customers for not understanding it. The blame continued (and continues -- see the response to Angela C.). They also blamed us for having expressed a preference for a female therapist for me (*preference* -- that's not an absolute -- I *prefer* to sit outside, but I'll take an inside table if that's all you have!). This was used as leverage to further cast us as "difficult" customers in an e-mail exchange that occurred afterward. You can see this pattern in the replies to other reviews where things didn't quite go right. It's never "how can we make this right?" but rather, "good riddance." Handling constructive criticism is definitely becoming a lost art. By the way, one other little gem of an interaction I had was when we arrived. The venue didn't open until a couple of minutes before our appointment, and we'd just walked over from the hotel. I stopped in to use the restroom. When I emerged, I looked to see if my wife had come through, and the response was, "oh yeah, she's in there filling out the paperwork, you better get on that!" (verbatim). Classy. Nothing says, "just relax," like, "go fill out your forms, and be quick about it." Another odd interaction: before we headed into our rooms, we met our therapists: two women. The staff member asked me, "oh, you have a preference for a female therapist, right?" I was a bit confused, responded, "um, yeah, but it's not a big deal." But, honestly, I had no idea why they asked because there were two *women* standing there. Now I know (because in a later interaction with my wife, they indicated that they'd "shuffled all their local clients trying to meet my preference"). Apparently they wanted to make a big deal out of it, in a passive-aggressive sort of way. Of course, I had no idea at the time. If I could offer one bit of advice to the spa: You could have avoided all of this, had two happy (albeit not overjoyed) customers had you simply said, "we're so sorry for the mix-up -- let us take 10% off." And I would have simply made up the difference in the tip, as I *always* do as a customer. At the massage place I've been going to since my county reopened with restrictions, I've been tipping *100%* out of recognition of the difficulties this time has brought. I left a measly 20% here, trusting that it would go completely to the therapists (who, in my opinion, would do well to find another place to work), and partly due to how ridiculously overpriced I thought the "experience" already was. So, frankly, if you're in Napa and you want to kick back and have a conflict-free massage experience, I'd look elsewhere. I think the therapists were fine, but the managing staff really need to explore their career choices. Maybe a nice boot camp, where people intentionally pay to get talked down to.
